    Sesame Chicken (white meat only)
    Chris C.

Recently moved to the area and hadn't checked out any of the local Chinese spots...woke up this morning and decided today's the day! Turns out there are two in the area, so I figured I'd go with the closest to me...China Wok. Reviews were solid, but first impressions upon arriving were a bit dicey. Luckily I've eaten enough Chinese food to not let the appearance of the place scare me away. Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had was served definitely didn't impress me at first sight. I'm glad I chose to charge on and order best HOLY MOLY their sesame chicken is BANGIN! I ordered it with all white meat and just a little spice. UH-MAZING!!! Portions were more than enough and I loved every single bite...no grizzly chicken pieces to be had (IYKYK) Got an order of crab rangoon too and they were pretty good too. Mostly cream cheese and pretty standard as the crab goons usually go. Can easily make two meals out of this and will definitely be back! If you've got a hankerin' for some solid Chinese food...don't pass this place up!!

sesame chicken, plain lo mein noodles, egg roll, cheese wontons.

I live in starke but always take that 20 minutes drive to keystone to get my Chinese! Best place around.

This place has gone down hill. The Chinese food is so bad! Whatever they're making for general toast chicken and lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken is not chicken. It's some kind of stringy rolled up crap you can't even chew. What are you serving us to eat and Keystone? If you're going to continue to make food like this you need to shut down. I've been eating here for 10 years and I've tried four times now to go back and eat there and it is nasty. The egg rolls have nothing in them but fried burnt dough. Your rice is undercooked and it you can't even bite into it without a hurting your teeth. What's happened to this Chinese place? The food is awful. I can't even imagine feeding this food to my dogs. The third picture that you see is the shredded whatever meat this is I don't know it's disgusting. The first picture is of the egg roll that has like nothing in it at all. The second picture is of the rice that's so hard when you bite down it'll break your teeth.

We all enjoyed our meals. It's typical to go Chinese food. Food was hot and ready when I got there.

I'll start by saying that just about every small or medium sized town has at least one Chinese…read morerestaurant or take-out place. We have China House here in Hawthorne. It's a family owned and run business, much like the one in Interlachen. When CoVid ran rampant, they made the necessary adjustments, but still fed us. They do one helluva take-out business, let me tell you! I've NEVER seen that place idle day OR night!! I've never heard any complaints about their food except from people that are MSG sensitive. Other than that, I think we have the best one around. Fried chicken wings? Can't be beat. They taste like they're marinated in Chinese 5-spice to me, but who knows what that secret is? All I know is they're delicious, crispy and the ENTIRE WING, not wing segments. That beats just about everyone, hands down! I used to only eat plain things like Moo Goo Gai Pan, but now? I've fallen for their Moo Shu chicken and even their Mei Fun! I thought the Lo Mein was great, but wanted to try some of everything, just to see what was at the top of that flavor peak...I think I've found my favorite combination and I'm sticking with it They have something for everyone's taste, whether you like sweet, spicy, nutty, savory or even a combination of tastes and textures. If you don't experiment, you'll never know, right? So order a small quantity of different things and expand your knowledge and tastes! (My current favorite thing is to order the chicken wings, debone them, put the meat and crispy skin in the bottom of my bowl, a small amount of steamed rice that I drizzle with sesame oil and a little bit of togarashi seasoning sprinkled on top...then I get my moo shu chicken and put some of that on top with another little sprinkle of the sesame oil and togarashi. Stirred together, you have this delicious umami flavor from the stir fried cabbage, carrots, onions mushrooms and chicken and that Pop off a little heat from the togarashi and then you get that delicious crispy bite of fried chicken with that--It HAS to be Chinese five spice!--flavor bomb...Omg soooooo good!) It might be an abomination of sorts to a purist, but I tend to crave the taste after a couple of weeks until my husband gets home so I can get more! Lol Don't expect fancy, look for solid flavors and freshness. I've never had any complaint about their food!

My stomach was growling and I…read morecan't stand fast food so I looked in Yelp for Chinese food and this was only a half a mile away. I found it very easily since there's basically one strip mall in this entire town. The inside is just like every other Chinese restaurant with recent immigrants, the kids are in the corner working on their tablets and coloring, the families in the back cooking. The outside of the store is a little dirty, the owner of that plaza does not take care of it so it's usually filthy. The inside was clean, the bathroom is pretty clean, the kitchen looked good from where I can see. The lady at the counter was super nice and I walked in and ordered my Mongolian chicken, she told me it would be 15 minutes. I walked across the parking lot to the grocery store to grab some thing I needed and by the time I got back it was done. I just dug in and it is tasty, they hit it on that super hot wok and that burn edge flavor you can only get with a highly heated walk is prevalent throughout this food and that's exactly what I was looking for. I have a new pitstop between Ocala and Jacksonville now.

The ambiance is fast casual with a few tables and chairs if you want to enjoy your food immediately. I usually eat-in with my mom. The service is great with at least 1-2 people taking your order and giving you recommendations if you are wondering what to order. I always get the tofu with either brown, garlic or General Tso's sauce. It's available with white rice, but you can ask for fried rice as a sub. No matter what sauce you choose, they are all very tasty so try all of them. My mom loves their shrimp in lobster sauce and she chose the combo plate. She says it's the best and we always stop here on our way back from Gainesville. I opted for the sweet chile sauce which offset the other flavors nicely. It came with either miso soup or a smaller dinner salad. I got the salad with ginger dressing.
