We've ordered the same things most times ever gone, so they know our order when we get in the phone with them..and when we've picked up and forgotten to order a side of sweet and sour sauce, they'll remind us-which is extremely appreciated. So, this is weird: do you know how almost every Americanized Chinese restaurant has scallops in at least one of the "Chef's Specialties" dishes, but not generally available with the shrimp (and less frequently, squid)? This place does. I'm new to the area, and maybe that's a regional thing, but I'm unaccustomed to seeing it. Also bizarre: the Shrimp Toast is guaranteed to be 100% toast free. How is such magic possible? By seemingly mixing breadcrumbs into the shrimp paste mixture, rolling it into a ball, and deep frying it like a hush puppy. It tastes great, but it's not what it claims to be. I ordered the above with egg drop/wonton mixed soup, which was delicious, and beef with Chinese vegetables, which was not. There simply wasn't very much flavor, and the use of canned sliced mushrooms (also unusual to me) really detracted from this staple dish. I didn't like them when my mother used them on her gross meatloaf, and it turns out that 30 years later, I still find them disgusting. But, when all is said and done, I would go back for the mere convenience of the location and to try a few other other things.
