I'm not big on buffets (hello current climate) but my mom turned me on to a dish she loved, and subsequently started buying, and bringing home. Idk what the name is, but it's imitation crab, huge shrimp, Napa cabbage, some kind of cream (guessing mayo/sour) and LOADS of cheese. You may be skeptical. I was too. But when I tried it, HOLY MOTHER! I was craving it, and was in the area. I had my mom call, since I'd never been and didn't know the name. Christina was super sweet, and packed it for me not going home straightaway (ice). I'll be honest, I have tried some other buffet items. Mother brought me a plate. It was ok. Nothing I'd crave in particular, based on items not picked out by myself. But the casserole makes you wanna slap ya momma!!! I will say the place is VERY clean, bathrooms too. Ma also swears by their macaroons, and buys containers of those. Hesperia is one of those places that's just there, I don't know anyone who's deliberately gone, and that's not disrespect, just my perspective. The restaurant is 3 miles from 15, so you would be deliberately going there. If you're in the area, or passing through, call and see if they have it. It's my understanding it's not an every day item. Also they had buffet food out today, and I thought restaurants were just doing take out/delivery/drive thru. But what do I know? People that like quantity over quality or they have not experienced a better Asian buffet like the one at I-10 and Milliken. I won't say the name because I'm not promoting one place over another. We had hopes when they changed management but the same problems have slowly crept in since then. This visit was 6 on a Thursday, more or less everything out was cold or bland. Except the fried shrimp that was fresh. If you give them a try check the buffet before you commit if they're not busy it's probably going to be older food on the line. read more

I'm Chinese and the Chinese food is pretty on point. I highly recommend their eggplants with tofu, orange chicken and green beans. There are a lot of fried food options but for $16 with tax an adult on the weekday it is pretty decent. $14 for a to go box and fill it as much as you want as long as you can close it. The orange chicken with white rice filled to the top was worth $14 in my opinion because it is actually delicious. Let me tell you, I have not been here in 15 yrs. I was dragged by my mom, I did not want to dine here ever since my last experience. Well I came I ate and was satisfied. Customer service was great, staff was on point in and making sure tables are cleaned and God is stocked and rotated. I am giving them 5 stars overall. I had the beans sprouts,kung pao chicken, garlic noodles, fried rice, and char siu pork slices. For a Sunday after church it was very busy. Staff was on point and ensured everyone was having a great dining experience. We were a party of 11. My nieces and nephews loved their food. All I can say is... 15 dollars for a pepsi and a fortune cookie is not a great deal. We tried everything on the tables including salad and saltine crackers. EVERYTHING had this weird and old taste we just couldnt stomach anymore even the garbanzo beans tasted like Raid and crumbled like chalk. Overall bad experience: I came about an hour before closing and saw the steam table was about 1/2 full but it didn't look too appetizing. The rice and dumplings were low and had been left long enough that they were dry and hard on the bottom. Inedible. The beef and broccoli had reddish meat that doesn't taste natural. Of course not everything is bad, the spicy chicken wings were delicious but the sponge cake that looks like egg foo yung seemed stale and honestly I felt sick after eating here. There were tiny mussels under the heat lamp that must have been ruined. I didn't try the menudo or pozole. And importantly, I noticed the really high temperature of the steam table. It just didn't seem correct. When I came in I felt puzzled that a Mexican man approached me to take my order in an Asian restaurant. He explained to me that they had been closed for 3 weeks to repair the kitchen and because there was a change of ownership. This restaurant is still not run right. read more

Dear China Palace HATERS!! I almost skipped out on this place because of the negative reviews!! I read a review saying there was nothing but Mexican food here! That was a lie!!! Not sure why this place has stars at all. I dont like to leave negative reviews but I hope I can save you your money, time and your health!!! Inspectors need to check this place out, hence the B on the door (which we didnt see until we were out. We got here and left right away. None of the food is edible, none! We tried every single item! Food temperatures are not ok, so beware, you may be ill. Food looked so old, it was very dissapointing. There was 4 cars in the parking lot... it was the employees no other guests. We had to leave and go eat somewhere else. So we spent $77 in vain. My husband is not picky and he can eat anything no matter how nasty but this he just couldnt. It was so so BAD! UPDATE from my review in April 2023: So, I wish I was adding more wonderful feedback on the China Palace Buffet, but sadly this will not match my previous review. I have been back more than a handful of times and each time they are no longer serving the jalapeno chicken or Mongolian beef (2 of their newest items). When we asked why, they said they are just dinner items now. Well that doesn't seem right for the lunch folks. The egg rolls have been so soaked in grease the last 3 visits, it's as if there is nobody in quality control before the food goes out on the floor. ?? In addition to that, the food has not been fresh (some of the food looks and tastes like yesterdays food - we arrive at opening time and expect the freshest food available), plates and utensils have been dirty, and the overall feel of the place has gone down hill again. I will be honest, however, the last 4 times we have been there, the owners are nowhere to be found. So, I do not know if the children play when the bosses are away or the quality and service are back to unsatisfactory levels. We have not been back in weeks and may not return. I still wish the new owners success, but a lot needs to change before I will give my hard earned money again to mediocre food and lack of choices for $ 20. read more

It is a nice buffet, located on Main Street of Hesperia. It is located near Cardenas Market. The price, to enter and eat, is quite fair. However, they have a limited menu to choose from. Still, for the price that was paid, it is delicious and worth every penny. The place is quite clean, and there is ample of space to sit down. The staff working here is polite. I have visited this establishment last year, before COVID pandemic. I would recommend anyone, who enjoys Chinese food, to visit this establishment. This place has been around for as long as I can remember, and I've had better buffets. Mostly your usual greasy, fried fare. It's about Panda Express quality, although some of the items are inedible. I liked the unlimited coffee and tea. It's also more expensive than Union Buffet or some of the higher quality Chinese buffets in LA. When I'm in Hesperia and have a craving for Chinese food this is my spot. This restaurant is buffet style and once 11 o'clock comes around, it is packed. So I opt for the to go choices. My staples when I come here are the orange chicken, pork chow mein and Mongolian beef (all animal groups represented). The food is pretty good, sometimes on the greasy side but I think that comes from it being mass cooked. The portions and really good and you'll have left overs for another meal. Probably one of the places that serves horribly-tasting Chinese food. Everything I've tried was really a miss, lacking in flavor. We were unfortunate enough to actually come here twice. We drive to Arcadia from Henderson, NV every 5 weeks and make a point of stopping here. They are under new management and the food is excellent. The customer service is always outstanding! Christina has gone above and beyond with her customer service every time we have been there. You can not beat the price. I highly recommend this restaurant!! read more
