I've lived in small towns and large cities in the south and I've had my share of Chinese take out -…read moresome tastes much better than Number One Chinese Restaurant and others not as good, but I rank this near the top for customer service. It's nice to walk in and hear the man behind the register greet regular customers by name and ask if they want the usual. It has a "Cheers!" atmosphere. Every time I have gone in there to pick up my order, I usually order something different. He always engages me in conversation, which is rare in today's fast-food society. My recommendations based on what I've eaten from here, so far: Don't bother with the Mongolian Beef unless you like it heavy on onions and mushrooms. Crispy noodles that came with my egg drop soup weren't so crispy, but the soup was great. Bourbon Chicken might become my favorite. It's good! Broccoli Chicken was good. Broccoli tasted fresh and the chicken was tender. Sesame Chicken was so-so. The sesame seeds had not been toasted so their flavor was too mild for my taste and they seemed to be more for garnish than for flavor. Egg rolls were acceptable from this kind of restaurant. The White Rice is superb! The Fried Rice was not the best I've had but soy sauce helped make it better. The service is good. The place is clean. The front employee is friendly. Food is hot when we pick it up. It's everything we can expect from a Chinese Take Out and I don't have to cook!

The setup reminded me of a fast-casual spot where you'd expect quick service and solid food. The food? It was just okay. I went with the usual combo of fried rice, lo mein, and chicken. Everything looked better than it tasted. Not bad, just not anything I'd rush to tell someone about. It scratched the hunger itch, but didn't leave much of an impression beyond that. The part that dragged the experience down was the service. It took forever just to get six sodas. We were literally the only group in the entire restaurant. No line. No other tables waiting. Yet the drinks came out like we ordered custom cocktails from a speakeasy instead of fountain sodas. No explanation, no urgency, just... waiting. If they tighten up the service and season the food a little better, it could be a real contender. But as it stands, it's a middle-of-the-road spot with style over substance. Not a bad option if you're nearby, but don't expect to be blown away.

No big deal, we just ordered there. I have been patronizing Hua Xing since 2012 since it is the best Chinese in my opinion. I am appalled at the way she spoke to this woman who was clearly working hard and trying her best. My appetite was ruined after witnessing this behavior. Employees deserve a safe and respectful place to work. Take your business elsewhere. I stated I'd like it with an egg roll, and the lady on the phone says, "yeah, it comes with that." From that moment I should have stopped ordering. I arrived to the restaurant to pick up my order within 6 minutes, it was ready and waiting for me. That's the only plus. The meal was disappointing. There was more breading than chicken. Literally chunks of breading and coating with barely any meat inside. When I arrived to pay and pick up my order I was not greeted with warmth. Not saying I have to be serenaded but it was as if this paying customer was bothering her. I placed my debit card in the card reader terminal and after it processed she took it out and put it in front of me on the counter, even though I was literally holding my hand out to receive it. Watched me sharply signing the receipt, guess she was expecting a tip - absolutely not! Will never go back and don't recommend.

It's got more…read moreof a minimalist café vibe than your typical takeout spot, which honestly had me thinking the food was going to match that level. It didn't. Ordered orange chicken, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The fried rice was noticeably too salty, which is rough considering that's usually the easiest thing to get right. The broccoli came out cold, which shouldn't even be a conversation at a sit-down spot. Egg roll was the only thing that showed up ready to play. Crispy, flavorful, no complaints there. Orange chicken was... fine. Not drenched in sauce, which I actually liked, but it's labeled as spicy and there was zero heat. Not mild, not subtle, just nonexistent. If it's supposed to be spicy, it definitely didn't make it onto my plate. Overall, it's a place that looks better than it eats. Not terrible, but not memorable either.

I got there around 7:30pm and they were slammed! As expected, they had a very limited post-hurricane menu, just a handful of chicken and vegetarian entrees, plus a few appetizers. I ordered a sweet and sour chicken, plus 2 orders of spring rolls. After a short 10-minute wait, I was off to my hotel with my hot food. So many thanks, but I most often avoid these type of strip mall Chinese joints, as the food is usually just 3 stars at best. I gave them an extra star for being slammed and working very hard to help make the nearby post-hurricane crowd less miserable! THANK YOU !!
