Menu prices online were not updated and far from what the actual price they charged. Tables, floors, plates, and serving buffets were just plain nasty and unkept. We ate dinner there, and it was apparent it was the leftover from lunch. You paid before you ate, (they even asked for a tip), and then the customer had to get everything, to include a self-serving drink bar and remove their dirty plates before returning to the line. Dirty fly covered dish cart left out in dining area, next to the drink glasses and dispenser just added to the misery. Entering the place, you had to walk past storage items. No Vegetables in the "Vegetable Fried Rice." Okay, I exaggerated a LITTLE bit; there were two peas, two tiny carrot pieces, five pieces of onion and three pieces of cabbage or something green. And that was it. It was mouthful after mouthful of ONLY RICE. The rice was good, I'll admit that, but where the F*ck were the broccoli, the mushrooms, the bamboo shoots, those flat green things with little peas inside, those yellow things that look like miniature corn cobs, and the scrambled egg scraps? I clearly ordered "Vegetable Fried Rice" over the phone. That there was a tiny amount of vegetable in it means they knew I wanted this rather than thought I said "only" plain rice. Shame on China Moon. Anyone knows that high quality vegetable fried rice comes with LOTS of vegetables in every mouthful. I could've just cooked up plain rice at home. I have been going to China Moon for years and decided to leave a review because the food is always pretty good despite the bad things people have said about it. The neighborhood isn't nice and If you can overlook the decor, they offer tasty, well cooked food at a decent price. Because the owners are nice people, I want people to know the food is good because so many misleading comments have been left by others. I do believe it is the only Chinese buffet in the city of Pueblo but there is another Chinese buffet in Pueblo West. Lunch price is from 11-4PM and then dinner price goes into effect. On the weekends, the dinner price is charged the entire day because tasty fried shrimp and several other dishes are available all day long. You can always order from the menu if you want something else if you don't want to eat from the buffet. Drinks are included in the buffet price. read more

It is one of those places that doesn't have a large selection but what they do have is good. It is a staple of the east side and I'm glad it survived covid. If you're looking for a place that has a super large selection this may not be for you. However, if you're looking for decent food at a good price, then this is a perfect place for you. read more

China Moon might be the only Chinese buffet in Pueblo. That being said, if you go, here are a few things you need to know: 1. The restaurant has a film of grease on everything- tables, floors, etc so items are icky sticky to the touch. 2. The food is decent: hot and sour soup is fire breathing dragon HOT! There was shrimp, mussels, cherries, and your typical Chinese faves. The lo mein is plain Jane. 3. The owner's children run and scream through the restaurant- it is quite unnerving. For whatever reason, this too seems pretty standard for Pueblo Chinese restaurants. 4. Fairly cheap - for two peeps Saturday lunch buffet was $29 (1 senior). 5. Since it's near the rough side of town, the other diners look a little sketch, like maybe they are druggies, homeless, and/or and prostitutes. No problem for me, but could turn off Subaru drivers wearing Patagonia jackets and Birkenstock. 6. I come here because there are many healthy choices and I have a strong gut. read more

The people were extremely rude. They kept telling us to hurry up even tho there was no one waiting to grab any food. When I was waiting for my friend to continue, they kept lifting my bag of food and saying too much too much then stapled one of my to go boxes shut. When my friend asked for napkins, the lady wouldn't even look at her and threw the napkins on the counter. The food today was subpar. The entire family was rude and yelling at us the entire time we were there yet we did nothing to deserve that treatment! We have been customers there for 4 years and have never been treated that way by them. Because of our experience today, we will never be eating there again! I admit we were a little apprehended when arrived at the strip mall where China Moon sits. We were convinced there couldn't be any good Chinese at a place like this. But don't let the front keep you from giving this place a try! We had the dinner buffet and was so glad we did. Price includes drinks, sure is a pleasant surprise. They roll out food trays slowly but steadily which ensures the freshness of the food. We loved the noodles, egg foo young, sesame chicken, and any dishes that had broccoli. The veggie is cooked so well each floret is coated with flavor. I definitely recommend China Moon especially if you're visiting the town of Pueblo! read more

I'm mixed on this place because of the unusual things in the restaurant. upon walking in you can tell it's not anywhere near a high dollar district. The food was not great but some items were very good. When we were eating I noticed a few patrons were busing their own tables. I have never in my life ever been inside a restaurant that did this! Not everyone did this so of course I'm not going to when I'm paying to sit and eat. There of course is zero custome interaction except when you pay even not to check to see if your customers need anything. The inside of the restaurant needs a lot of upgrading to make customers comfortable to sit and eat! It's the only Chinese buffet that we could find in Pueblo which I feel bad for the owners to get more paying customers in the door. I'm not sure if they know or even care about that side of there busines. If they really want to fill the restaurant due to being the only buffet around this area of Colorado. The outside of the restaurant looks old and dirty, which matches the filthy interior. The food was barely edible, the chicken had an odd aftertaste and the pudding tasted like soap. I was told one price over the phone then charged more because "it was the weekend". Staff barely acknowledged us, and we had to clear our own plates. We eat here often enough whenever we get a craving for Chinese. It's a nearby take-out or sit-down, hole-in-the-wall kinda place. I've had their food over the years and have never had a bad experience. They are great for large or small orders, you really never have to wait long and the food is fresh. The amount of food you get for the $ is great! I can order one dinner and split for two, under $10 or if there's seafood, or combination, still under $15! Their egg drop soup is awesome, and their wontons. I prefer their lo-mein over anywhere else in town. Great for college students or families. I almost didn't check this place out as i was on the south side, but my secretary said "check it out" and i am glad i did. The food was healthy, fresh & delicious! The service is direct, and the buffet is straight to the point, As the same for the drinks and deserts. As for atmosphere. Well, I'm not there to eat or lick the wallpaper or paint, for an appetizer. Definitely the most horrid place I've come across. Don't get me wrong, I love Chinese food, but this is just a disgrace. The first impression I get when I walk in is poor and dirty. I was not proven wrong. I tried the majority of the entrees there and 90% tasted the same. It wasn't a good taste either. The Lo-Mein noodles had a disgusting, smokey, and overcooked flavor. The food quality was cheap and not worth it. I was there for about 10 minutes before I got up and left. I refused to eat there. The buffet is really good; food taste good. Place is a bit dirty though and has the feel of a dive. Dirty carpets, finger print smudges on the glass, some of the silverware and such didn't look like it was washed very well so be sure to look it over before you use it, but the food was really good. read more

Ordered food from here by mistake. Meant to order from another restaurant. Ordered sweet and sour shrimp. Wonton soup. Fried crab meat rangnoons. The white steamed rice tasted musty. The sweet and sour shrimp was extremely hard, and the batter tasted bad. The fried crab rangnoons tasted like puke. Not kidding on that one. I'm a pretty lenient guy when it comes to restaurants. I know how difficult operating one can be. China Moon however scares me. I will never understand why people claim it's the best Chinese buffet in town, because there are much better options available. It's not something I'd go out of my way for, but when you're paying the same price as a big mac meal for an all you can eat Chinese buffet, I'd say it's worth the stop in. We experienced extremely bad customer service from one lady who was sitting behind the cashier. She did not give us a warm friendly greeting and asked if we wanted a buffet or not. We asked to order entrees instead and she gave us a frustrating look and handed us menus. The gentleman who took our order was nice and helped us pick our food. The lady waitress who supposedly "greeted" us at the door then brought out our food and gave us a very bad attitude when we asked for bowls and then for chopsticks. She was basically yelling at us if "that was all?" You don't treat customers like that. However, another gentleman who cleaned up the tables was nice enough to get us a plastic bag for our togo boxes when we asked for it; he even smiled. The lady could learn a thing or two from the two gentlemen that helped us. Good customer service is key to any business. The food wasn't even that good. The place was dark and not very clean. Horrible food. We had previously been here in the past and it was ok. Today the food was cold, hard and lacking any kind of flavor. When I mentioned it to the cashier whole paying she stated that it was probably due to the food being left out too long since they were not busy today. We will not be returning. Poor service and food. The restaurant itself is dirty and uncomfortable. Staff is mean and disrespectful towards its customers. When asked questions, the managers/owners are hostile and verbally abusive. They show extreme prejudice towards their customers and actually verbalize it. My 13 year old nephew was verbally assaulted while he was there, just for asking a question. My Father in Law was embarrassed and verbally assaulted by both the owner and his wife for his weight and for asking to speak with the manager. read more
