I moved to the area about a year ago. I tried this place when I first moved here. I didn't like it then, it had no taste very bland. Here's a year later. I said I'm craving Chinese. This is the closest place. Let me give it a try again, nope absolutely tasteless food I do not recommend. It's the most tasteless, zero flavor Chinese I've actually ever had, from the rice to the chicken read more

If you ignore the messy pile of cardboard cartons where the dining area could have been, then the rest is all good. Restaurant is all take-out. Hot and sour soup is tasty with plenty of tofu, meat, and veggies. And a very good sign is that the traditional bag of soup noodles was exceptionally fresh and crunchy. Moo shu pork came with rice, 5 pancakes, and sauce. Good taste and quantity. Service was fast and friendly. read more

The best chinese I got, the flavor is perfect not like other is sweet or salty at all.good for health. Now the people working there is nice than the old owner, and they do have the dining table is much better than before,Highly recommended read more

The food has to be the most bland no taste food I've ever had. Ordered the spicy pork in garlic causes. Absolutely no heat and I thought I must have ordered the vegan version had to search for pork did find 3 small pieces and full of onions and green peppers and full of grease. Never had fried rice like this looked like brown rice. Hot and sour soup no flavor. Will never order from there again. read more

When it comes to Chinese food, it hits the spot. Would 100% come again once my stomach recovers. If you've eaten Chinese food before u know what I'm talking about. 10/10 read more

Standard Americanized Chinese food. They have all the usuals and combination dinners. I find their quality to be better than average, good flavor. Very clean kitchen! Average customer service. read more

the food was amazing...fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself isn't much to look at, but we were taking it to go anyway. I'd order form them again. read more

Not bad- have very much enjoyed their chow mein fun (rice noodles). Egg drop soup is just meh. Had a lunch special once and while portions were decent, didn't realize the fried rice it comes with has pork. I don't eat pork. Maybe I overlooked that in the menu :/ I like that They have a lot of options as well as "healthier" / "diet conscious" options. Closest Chinese takeout to us, so we'll go back! read more

I just moved to the area, and I'm addicted to China King! The BEST dumplings I've EVER had (and I've been everywhere!). The sweet and sour chicken is amazing too and you can order small portions which is perfect for single people (I still get 2 meals out of it). read more

It's a basic neighborhood Chinese take out spot. Not fancy Food is always hot ready quickly and a good value. Soups are excellent if you have a cold. read more

Beware ordered from there and woke up in the middle of the night sick. An Urgent Care visit and 3 days unable to eat .... confirmed food poisoning! read more

Food was a bit on the undercooked side and sauces were watered down, definitely lacked flavor. The restaurant area was filled with boxes and it could use a good cleaning. read more

My favorite Chinese place in the Chili area. My kids love their sweet and sour chicken and I love the sesame chicken with white rice. Shrimp rolls are very good as is the won ton soup. I love Crab Rangoon but be warned that these ones don't have much crab in them. That said they are a good price and still taste good. Love their lunch specials! read more

Was in the area and very hungry and craving Chinese food. I remembered this restaurant because we used to frequent it when it first opened. Had I not called the order in ahead of time, I would have walked back out. The restaurant is filthy and disorganized. The food was okay but pretty sure if the dining area is any measure of how clean the kitchen is, I dodged a bullet. So happy i didn't get food poisoning. read more

Best Chinese food I've had in ANY town in MANY years! Every dish I try, I love. ...I've had the house special chow mei fun, moo goo gai pan, beef with broccoli, all the moo shu dishes, boneless spare ribs, won ton soup I could keep listing. .. Always flavorful, and always hot. They never make you wait for your food either. If they delivered I'd prob be huge. Haha read more

One of the worst meals I have gotten from this restaurant. Ordered Sesame Chicken. Chicken was dry and tasteless. It seemed it was reheated several times. Rice was also dry and no flavor. Could hardly bite into the eggroll. Other family members had the same experience. Had to throw most of the meal away. Will not go back. Do not live in California, referring to the China King in North Chili read more

Definitely not among the better Chinese takeout in Rochester. The closest competition is Golden Garden on Chili Avenue, which is another struggling takeout restaurant. China King is a notch lower. Food is acceptable, but nothing stands out. read more

Their combination plates are awesome. For $6-$8 you get a main dish, pork fried rice, an egg roll, and fortune cookie. They don't use MSG so if you're concerned about such things you don't have to worry here. Pork Fried Rice -- Personally this fried rice is second only to Plum Garden's fried rice. But considering China King is closer to my house I'll visit more often. Honestly though it's not much of a sacrifice considering how it tastes. Sesame Chicken -- Was not drowning in Sesame sauce, had just the right amount. The chicken was juicy and held some of the crispiness from frying. Sweet & Sour Chicken -- Again the chicken was juicy and there wasn't an overpowering amount of breading on the meat. The sweet and sour sauce was actually SWEET AND SOUR not just pink sweet sauce! Egg Roll: Not greasy (even if you keep it in the fridge to eat the next day) and has a great flavor. What I really love is after eating I did not feel like I has eaten a rock like I used to from my old low quality Chinese place. I'm full after eating a combination plate (depending on your appetite it could serve two meals) but it's not a painful, upset stomach from too much grease cheap full. The employees are super friendly and you don't wait too long for your food (please make sure you tip these guys well, they really deserve it!) The only "draw back" is the appearance of the small dining area. There's only six four seat tables, there isn't much decoration on the walls and what is there isn't "impressive." The pictures of the food they have on display are misleading and poor in quality as far as I'm concerned. I almost didn't eat there the first time I went because of the pictures, I'm glad I took the risk! I've been looking for a higher quality Chinese food since I got fed up with my low quality, far too expensive, former regular place. Needless to say I'm so happy I found China King. read more

Delivery was prompt and on time. Food was very good and we were very happy with the quality and flavor. My wife had the sesame tofu and I had the Kung Pao Chicken. This was a test run since our favorite Chinese restaurant had a fire on August 1st. Will definitely order from again. The only drawback was at this time they take only cash payment for delivery. read more

The food here is usually really good, but I don't know what they did this time. I got the steamed chicken with broccoli; the chicken looked like something that'd been shoved through a grinder, and there was a giant tangle of hair in it. The only thing good was the rice, which isn't really saying much. Might not go back for a while. read more

My garlic shrimp was in fact not garlic shrimp, but sweet and sour with touch of soy sauce shrimp. Very disappointed. Hot and sour soup was not great either, it was just simply hot and not sour at all. I have tried many Chinese take outs around Rochester but this was one of the worst experience I ever had. Definitely not coming back! read more

Wasn't great food and the service as a little slow (ordered takeout and wasn't ready when I arrived after the quoted time). I've had better chinese. It's cheap quick food. read more

Terrible...no taste. Beef lomein aweful. General taos chicken spongy. Bland bland bland. Go elsewhere. Plus the place is a pigsty.

I've been ordering food from here for over a year. I have had the Chinese spar ribs (the best!), curried shrimp (the best) and the beef with Chinese veggies (the best)! Does that explain it? :). Oh, tell Abby I said hello. :) read more

Fantastic service, great prices and great food. This is hands down the best place to go for chinese food in the area! They also are very fast with orders, so if you're in a rush it's perfect. read more

Fried rice is not flavorful, and everything else was bland and soggy. Not the best Chinese food, mediocre at best.

The Pepper beef and onions was excellent. This was my first time here. I will be back.

I've ordered from this restaurant many times before and usually I'd rate it a 3 or 4. But today's entree (Shrimp and Brocolli) was just plain bland and flavorless. The pork-fried rice was equally flat and tasteless. Maybe they had a new cook or he forgot to add something to the dish. I have NEVER put soy sauce on my Chinese food, but today I needed to .. just to make it taste somewhat like it should. I am so disappointed. If you can't make fried rice right, you should hang up your wok. read more

Great! Great! Great! Fresh, great quality and cooked just right. Nice to eat Chinese and not wake up to swollen fingers and ankles the next morning! read more

Ordered lobster lo mein and steamed dumplings... lo mein had no sauce on it whatsoever and the dumpling filling was good but it was encased in 1/2" of sticky, heavy dough. Every person I interacted with there seemed absolutely miserable from start to finish. Also took nearly twice as long as our usual go-to Chinese place. Pretty underwhelming. My partner said his beef and broccoli combo was pretty good but I'm not sure I'll order anything next time we go back, if we do. read more
