If you ignore the messy pile of cardboard cartons where the dining area could have been, then the rest is all good. Restaurant is all take-out. Hot and sour soup is tasty with plenty of tofu, meat, and veggies. And a very good sign is that the traditional bag of soup noodles was exceptionally fresh and crunchy. Not bad- have very much enjoyed their chow mein fun (rice noodles). Egg drop soup is just meh. Had a lunch special once and while portions were decent, didn't realize the fried rice it comes with has pork. I don't eat pork. My favorite Chinese place in the Chili area. My kids love their sweet and sour chicken and I love the sesame chicken with white rice. Shrimp rolls are very good as is the won ton soup. I love Crab Rangoon but be warned that these ones don't have much crab in them. That said they are a good price and still taste good. Love their lunch specials! read more

Their combination plates are awesome. For $6-$8 you get a main dish, pork fried rice, an egg roll, and fortune cookie. They don't use MSG so if you're concerned about such things you don't have to worry here. Pork Fried Rice -- Personally this fried rice is second only to Plum Garden's fried rice. But considering China King is closer to my house I'll visit more often. Honestly though it's not much of a sacrifice considering how it tastes. Sesame Chicken -- Was not drowning in Sesame sauce, had just the right amount. The chicken was juicy and held some of the crispiness from frying. Sweet & Sour Chicken -- Again the chicken was juicy and there wasn't an overpowering amount of breading on the meat. The sweet and sour sauce was actually SWEET AND SOUR not just pink sweet sauce! Egg Roll: Not greasy (even if you keep it in the fridge to eat the next day) and has a great flavor. What I really love is after eating I did not feel like I has eaten a rock like I used to from my old low quality Chinese place. I'm full after eating a combination plate (depending on your appetite it could serve two meals) but it's not a painful, upset stomach from too much grease cheap full. The employees are super friendly and you don't wait too long for your food (please make sure you tip these guys well, they really deserve it!) The only "draw back" is the appearance of the small dining area. There's only six four seat tables, there isn't much decoration on the walls and what is there isn't "impressive." The pictures of the food they have on display are misleading and poor in quality as far as I'm concerned. I almost didn't eat there the first time I went because of the pictures, I'm glad I took the risk! I've been looking for a higher quality Chinese food since I got fed up with my low quality, far too expensive, former regular place. Needless to say I'm so happy I found China King. read more

Delivery was prompt and on time. Food was very good and we were very happy with the quality and flavor. My wife had the sesame tofu and I had the Kung Pao Chicken. This was a test run since our favorite Chinese restaurant had a fire on August 1st. Will definitely order from again. I got the steamed chicken with broccoli; the chicken looked like something that'd been shoved through a grinder, and there was a giant tangle of hair in it. The pork-fried rice was equally flat and tasteless. Maybe they had a new cook or he forgot to add something to the dish. Ordered lobster lo mein and steamed dumplings... lo mein had no sauce on it whatsoever and the dumpling filling was good but it was encased in 1/2" of sticky, heavy dough. Every person I interacted with there seemed absolutely miserable from start to finish. Also took nearly twice as long as our usual go-to Chinese place. Pretty underwhelming. My partner said his beef and broccoli combo was pretty good but I'm not sure I'll order anything next time we go back, if we do. read more
