3.5 stars. Not super friendly or welcoming as far as dining in. They sell 2 liters, but don't even have glasses or ice. They let us have soup bowls because we wanted to dine in. They told us they mainly do and prefer takeout. Amazing chicken and broccoli, Amazing general tsos, Amazing crab Rangoon. Decent pork rolls. Really bad, thick, and extremely crunchy inedible overcooked fried noodles. I'd order them again to go. read more

I will never order there again. Tried to overcharge by almost $100.00. Rude to my daughter picking up. Did not get the two extra meals ordered. She was told rudely that she had not paid when she had given them 90.00 for a 70.00 order. Food was bad rice dry, clumpy, and tasteless, veggies were basically raw could not eat them, so I paid $20.00 for a meal I did not eat. read more

We order delivery almost every Tuesday. Never disappointed. I love the hot garlic beef and the spicy tofu. My husband likes the egg fu Yung, but he has liked everything we have ordered. read more

I cant believe I haven't sent in a review of the china house. I stop by there regularly and find the food to be good for your run of the mill express. Today I had a new item ( see photo) Pad Thai chicken. Like most meals the quality is good but over the years the portion size had shrunk. Worth a visit. read more

I had ordered sesame chicken and chicken fried rice to be delivered. I recieved plain rice, no flavor at all except for the strong taste of freezer burn and dirty cooking oil. It smelled as bad as it tasted. The sesame chicken lacked any flavor of garlic, ginger, soy or toasted sesame. There was none at all. What I recieved instead was re-heated orange chicken with a few cheap sesame seeds sprinkled on top with 4 small pieces of broccoli that were wilted and old. Will not be ordering from this place again unless drastic changes are made. read more

Great food, friendly service and usually very quick delivery times. Our first choice for Chinese food. They'll let you delete certain ingriedients that you may be allergic to or just don't like. Our food has always been delivered hot and always tastes the same. read more

I just started working in Chillicothe this April. So, I have a lot of firsts in the food area. Today was my first for Chinese food. After asking around at work, I was guided to China House. Let me say .... My Hunan Beef extra spicy did NOT dissapoint! It was full of flavor and the beef was so tender (which is not generally the case.). The staff was super nice, super quick with my order. I picked my order up and I think it's a cute lunch spot. Very clean. My egg drop soup had perfect consistency, but I like more egg (greedy girl! :D) I did order a shrimp roll as well, I probably won't order it again. It was a little skimpy on the fillings, leaving more wrapper in the center - making it a bit doughy. Over all, I am a fan! Go China House! read more

I love this place. Cheap, generous portions of greasy and delicious Chinese food. I've only dined at the restaurant once but it was clean inside despite being old and worn. I've mostly ordered delivery. The phone service is pretty good and the food shows up quickly. Sometimes they forget to bring the soda along but they've always made it right with me. No biggie. When I lived in Chillicothe, this was my comfort food whenever I was too ill to leave my couch. read more

They delivered the wrong order did not contact me about it..I started to eat before I realized it wasn't what I ordered... I called and stated that I eat some of it and they said keep it... the driver shows back up with what I ordered and demanded the other order back which I had started to eat only assuming he delivered it to a poor unaware customer. I'm not saying they 100% did that but sure seems like it... I also order a Coke that I was drinking and the driver demanded it back to which I pulled out my phone and showed him the receipt and I did order a coke ... he just left didn't apologize or anything.. I don't think I have ever had a broccoli chicken that tasted so bad. The rice was not fresh, the chicken was not good quality and the broccoli was far from fresh. I do not recommend this place to eat at. Then you add the price. At almost $10 an entree, you would think it would match the quality, but no. positive... food was hot!! negative... ordered chicken lo mien noodles were very starchy there was very little vegetables and the chicken pieces were so small i could not see or taste them not a good dish for the price i also ordered chicken fried rice how do you mess that up? rice was cooked well but had no flavor very few vegetables but lots of onion had plenty of plain white chicken mixed in rice with no flavor at all!! i also order a egg roll it was totally undercooked and chewy very small amount of stuffing no flavor!! will not ever be returning!!! read more

This restaurant is for carry-out only - there are seats, but the atmosphere isn't the best for eat-in. China House has been in Chillicothe for quite a few years now, and they used to be five star! I'm not kidding!! It was excellent Chinese takeout, just excellent. Unfortunately, we got takeout from there last Sunday and it was terribly mediocre. Everything had changed, and not for the better. So here were my first impressions as I unpacked the bag when we got home. First, they changed the carry-out containers for the food (not the soups). They were smaller, which is okay, they were probably overly generous for the price before anyway. I pulled the two-quarts of Won Ton soup out and immediately noticed that the chicken broth looked terribly anemic (watered down). Consuming said soup confirmed initial impression, very watered down and bland, no spring onion and pork bits in broth as before. The Won Ton dumplings were very 'dough-y'. Previously, they were filled with a nice pork 'meatball', now there is a tiny piece of diced port - and I mean tiny! Bummer House Special Egg Foo Yung is now served seperate from the sauce which is unnecessary but fine. The EFY patties were good, but the sauce was brown gravy from a mix!!!!!! Are you kidding me?? They used to have the BEST egg sauce!! Did they think I wouldn't notice? The House Lo Mei Fun was good, a little skimpy on the shrimp and meat, but the flavor was good. Again, not like before, in fact it had curry in it which it never had before. I would order this again, but it doesn't taste like Chinese, it tasted like an Indian dish. Not sure what happened. Have they changed hands?? Whatever it is, it's way too bad, and I will not return. ~ To be fair, if this had been my first experience with China House I would have been a little less critical, but it still would have rated 2 stars because of the obviously cheapened Won Ton. read more

Horrible horrible horrible. First of all, I received someone else's order last time that I ordered. I didn't notice, with a lot going on, you expect things to be right with a delivery fee & a pricey tip. It was chicken fried rice. I ordered broccoli & chicken, wonton soup x 2 & crab Rangoon. Way off. He delivery guy then comes back, asks for the chicken fried rice back so he doesn't "make the customer mad." We are still hungry, as none of our food was here. When I called, the EXTREMELY RUDE lady, (this lady was the worst customer service woman, so rude & just hateful) told me I could have my correct order the next day. I'm sorry, but no. Well, I wanted to like this place. After today, though, I have no plans to return. I happened to be shopping in the immediate area and thought this would be a quick place to stop. Guess it was quick, because I was so irritated that I hardly ate anything. There is a small dining area, which looked clean. That's pretty much the only positive thing I can say. Looks like this is still primarily a carry out. The prices were high, especially for what turned out to be substandard fare. Food was served on Styrofoam plates, with plastic utensils. On the plus side, they did have tofu and fairly fresh vegetables in what was supposed to be a spicy sauce. Instead, it was swimming in an oddly orangish colored sauce that tasted mostly of salt. The hot and sour soup looked dark and murky. As it did not give off a recognizable aroma, I didn't even touch it. And....no hot tea! At least not that I could tell. What Chinese restaurant doesn't have hot tea?! All drinks were in bottles or cans, including water. So, for one dish, soup, and water, I paid nearly 12 bucks. Ridiculous. Neither the ambience nor the food warranted that kind of pricing. Pretty sure I could have done better nearly anywhere else in town. My advice? Pass this by. read more
