I don't know how this place is getting so many bad reviews..or any bad reviews at all. We've been going here for 4 years, since we moved to NJ. We not only love the food but love the employees. They get our order right every time (I think they forgot something one time and they made it right by driving it to us at our house, immediately-so kind to do that!). They often throw in freebies (egg rolls etc) if we place large orders. We've ordered the same things most times ever gone, so they know our order when we get in the phone with them..and when we've picked up and forgotten to order a side of sweet and sour sauce, they'll remind us-which is extremely appreciated. It's always a great atmosphere to walk into. We're always greeted like we're friends, and it feels good walking into a place where they recognize you and ask how your family is doing. We'll forever go here because of their food and customer service. read more

First of all, I've never eaten here before, and I take full accountability for asking these folks to make a meal after 10:00pm.... I'd probably fu*k up an order on purpose too if I had my eye on the clock and looking forward to going home... I can't comprehend how out of all of the other items that were totally horrible, iced tea could be messed up. I promised myself to keep this review clean, so I'll just say that what they made rhymes with iced tea... The beef skewers had me questioning if it was actually beef. The awful taste was beyond being seasoned wrong. The wings and egg rolls tasted as if they were cooked in old, burnt oil. And while the generals chicken was sort of spicy, it had a burned sugar taste.... Thankfully I ordered a backup dish. The mei fun noodles were very good. Lesson learned tonight.. I paid $45 for rice. Thats basically all there was sufficient amounts of. The Sweet and sour chickeb total of 12 pieces! That's a disgrace compared to the normal combo sweet and sour chicken platters I ordered from here twice before and was able to feed myself and my child. Not this time. It was not enough to feed my child. The chicken wings full of grease but could overlook that if they weren't overcooked. smh The wonton soup and rice and homemade tea were plenty yet the sweet and sour chicken and chicken wings had no chicken worth what was paid and definitely not even close to what had been consistent. My go-to delivery Chinese spot! I've been using China House ever since I've moved to the area! The service is fast, you get a lot of food for a very good price, and the food is always good. I've done both pickup and delivery at China House and I've always been very please with the service. Their menu is huge and there is a lot to choose from. They have lunch and dinner combination specials which are a great deal. Some of my favorite things on the menu include: boneless spare ribs, general tso chicken, pork fried rice, and crab Rangoon. Honestly, everything I've tried has been good. On the phone they speak a little fast. At first I was put off by it, but then I realized how busy they are and they've never messed up an order. I have been ordering from this place off and on for years and tonight when I received my food it was way way too spicy hot that I could not eat it. When I called to complain I was told that a new order would be made and delivered. Less than 5 mins later I got a call back from the store saying that they would not remake it without all the spice and that I had to keep the overly spicy food and they would not refund my money. On top of that, they ran the same transaction charging my bank card 4 times to where it through up red flags at my bank. My girlfriend took the food back and the lady at the counter yelled obscenities at her. In the end, this place has really become shameful and fallen from grace. I will never order from this Chinese restaurant again EVER! They cannot even admit when they screw up. If you are thinking about ordering from here considering the food and service--RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Believe me! The shamelessness and arrogance is out of control. My family has NEVER been treated with such disrespect all because we returned the food. However they always have my order ready within 15 minutes and are very friendly. Very standard Chinese restaurant. Located right next to shop rite. They have good lo mein, better than a lot of Americanized Chinese. One of my favorite dishes is the pork with almonds, the roast pork and vegetables go well with the almonds. They have duck here, but it is not my favorite. I was looking for a good Chinese place that delivers, so after reading all the good reviews this place got, I decided to try them out. My order totaled just over $50, so they offered me a choice of wonton soup, fried wonton or general tso chicken free, so I chose the general tso's. They told me my food would be delivered in 35-40 Minutes, and it did arrive about 40 minutes later. The delivery woman tapped on the front door so lightly, I didn't even hear her (and I was sitting right inside the front door!) but I saw movement on my porch and knew she was there... She was very friendly, however when I asked her to wait a second while I give my 2 1/2 month old granddaughter to my Mother, she did walk in uninvited, which was a bit odd... Anyway, I signed the slip since I paid with my debit card, tipping the driver $10, and she was on her way...we unpacked everything and realized the (2) bottles of soda (2 bottles of 2 litres of Pepsi) were not there! I called immediately, since of course the driver was gone by then, and was told the would have the driver bring them right away. Well, THIRTY MINUTES later, when the driver had STILL not brought the soda, I called again and was told that they are very busy and the driver had other deliveries she had to make, and that was why she hadn't brought the soda yet?! I told him that our food was getting cold, waiting for the soda. I told him that is why we ordered the food and soda together; because we wanted to eat our hot food while drinking said soda! He didn't seem to care one iota. He simply said "well she'll be there soon". Well, when the driver came back about 35-40 minutes after I called about it being missing, she was banging, and I mean BANGING, on our front door! My Mother, who is older, was saying loudly that she was coming, then I also started heading for the door saying I'm coming loudly, and she was actually peering at us through the little window in out front door, while STILL BANGING!! I opened the door, and she basically shoved the bag with to bottles of soda in it, in to my hands, mumbling in another language, then spun on her heel and left!! WOWWW!!! No apology, not even any of the politeness she'd had the first time around!! When I finally started to eat, my fries wantons were awful!! Chewy and almost stale! Plus I'd ordered the 8 fried cheese wonton, based on the menu online, and got 10 meat wonton. That part was not really their fault, but still disappointing... Well, needless to say, that was my first, and definitely my LAST, experience with China House in Brooklawn, NJ! It's a shame too, because aside from the fried wonton, their food was delicious! My family and I ordered from the China house and we were so disappointed the driver didn't even get out of the car they sat in the car and honked the horn several times and we had to go get it the food from the car , the food was greasy and the price I paid for what I got I expected better !!! then the driver asked for a tip & actually told me what she wanted ...I called to speak to someone and I was told when I call to place another order to request that that driver not be sent out. Almost every town in South Jersey has 2 Chinese take out places with almost identical menus and price points. This is my favorite take out place, not much ambience, (I've even seen a "broken" trash can sign here) but the food is consistent and good. Good food and their location in the busy Shoprite shopping center are the reasons they are usually pretty busy. Egg rolls, wonton and most of the standard dishes we've tried are very good and made to order so it sometimes takes a few minutes longer than some of other places nearby which also have zero ambiance-- take out is the way to go here. read more

Aside from some nice sit-down Chinese/Japanese restaurants more local to me, if you just want some grab and go Chinese food this is my favorite place (I drive a good 15 minutes to get here). I've never been disappointed in the food. In my opinion the "large" servings are more than enough for the price, I have lunch for "tomorrow" every time. ...and why on earth they serve pizza rolls I couldn't tell you, but they're damn good.
