They will gladly help you understand what ingredients are involved in various dishes. Most items are pretty standard names. I usually get the "Royal with Fried Rice" and add an egg roll. It rather mild with chicken, beef, shrimp, and artificial crab. My wife gets some sort of pineapple rice that has peanuts on it. She really likes the tofu depending on her tastebuds. Egg rolls are perfect and skewered chicken is definitely a great choice. General Tso's use to be my go to, but it fills me up too much. It's very good but I've just had to back off. We go here probably on average every 20 days. Food is always very fresh. It's just really, really. We see some of the same people eating in there on a routine basis so you know it has a following. Enjoy your Royal Mandarin main dish and don't hesitate to get fortune cookies on the way out!! Pictures to come!!

Chicken lo mien , fried rice, egg roll and soda. $10.25 much better! Lo mien was perfect! Fried rice was typical yellow rice and was ok, egg roll is my favorite in town! They're perfect! Cabbage filled and has some pink cabbage mixed in. I suggest getting the can soda. No ice in the machine, she gave me literally 6 cubes of ice for a 40oz cup. Pepsi came out hot and melted the ice. It tasted flat. Don't plan to stay and eat. The sitting area is disgusting and has boxes piled everywhere. Also the order area has a big ole I glass wall. They hand you your food under the counter. They also speak broken English. Then look at you like it's an inconvenience that you don't understand them. Lots of eye rolling and head shaking. Not the most welcoming place but when you gotta get your Chinese food fix, this is the place. No pics.... Because cmon, it's noodles and rice.

I was working in the Terre Haute area and had a cold. One of my go to foods when I do is Chinese…read morechicken noodle soup. So I ordered from here. It was ok. This is a delivery order so I can't comment on the restaurant. They don't have a hearty chicken broth based soup with lots of chicken and vegetables. This was sort of a weaker version of Cambell's soup with what I can only imagine are frozen chicken meat pieces thrown in. About all I enjoyed was that it was something hot to drink which is nice when you're working with a cold. I did additionally order the sesame beef for something hearty later in the shift. It too was ok. I can say the broccoli was fresh and crunchy. The pieces of beef were breaded and fried so sometimes a little dry on the inside, but the sauce was good despite my diminished sense of taste. I'm still looking for my go to Chinese restaurant in Terre Haute so not sure if I'll order from here again...

Anyone complaining about this place and compared it to the one on Meadows doesn't know what they're talking about. The one at meadows is AUTHENTIC Chinese version of the menu and the one in Southland Shopping Center sells AMERICANIZED version of the same menu, of course they're going to taste different because the way the food is cooked is different! I always choose to eat at the Southland Shopping Center version because their textures for their food is better for me (I have Autism) and my sister (AFIDS and Autism) and doesn't overstimulate us Not only that but their crab ragoons are AMAZING, so creamy and soft unlike other places that are stale with very little filling and have hard edges that cut and leave the inside of my mouth raw

I had time after arriving in town to stop and have a real sit down meal, so I stopped in. The seating area by the sushi bar is cozy. The staff so friendly and took the time to explain some of the things on the menu. I decided to get a bento box which came with miso soup, a small side salad, and then I added a Valentine roll which was the special on the chalkboard... yum. They paid attention to my ginger allergy and made sure that every plate was ginger free and gave me options that were ginger free. The highlight was the Valentine roll with its shrimp, cream cheese and avocado wrapped in pink rice paper, and drizzled with a wonderful sauce. Plus the rolls were in the shape of hearts! I liked the bento box. The tempura vegetables tasted fresh. The shrimp was cooked well. With the rice side and California roll, I was more than satisfied with the meal. So glad I was able to finally come and eat in. I will definitely come back/order from Zeng when I am back in Terre Haute.
