Beef and mushrooms with noodles is my usual. The portions are really generous and unlike a lot of other takeaways, they don't skimp on the beef and round it out with a ton of mushrooms. Today I also ordered prawn crackers (they aren't given for free) for an extra £1.20. I won't get them again--it tasted like they aren't ordered very often and had been there for a while. I bought my Diet Coke from the newsagent next door. I've never been able to reach the restaurant by phone to order lunch because nobody ever answers, so I have to walk there. This isn't a big deal for me since they're super close and cook everything in about 7-minutes, but I have also gone around during their lunch hours (12-2pm) and found it closed. It's a small family operation and I assume with only a husband/wife team running the show, if one is sick or they need to do something else during business hours, the restaurant stays shuttered for the day. I know this all sounds bad, but honestly, for the price, portions, and overall quality of the lunch special it's worth popping in every now and again.

We had friends round and so we'd ordered a lot of food that they didn't deliver despite having our money. Then when we tried to claim the money through PayPal and they disputed it and we had to put in an official request and were eventually refunded the money that we had spent for no food.
