The service was great from the time we walked into the restaurant. We ordered a few items from the menu: chow-mein, chicken fried-rice, KungPao chicken, 2 sizzling lamb dishes-and all were superb. The food is old-fashioned Chinese takeaway, but done pretty well. Last time I had beef with black bean sauce and peppers, and it was a tasty sauce, but some of the beef was really chewy and the rice was a bit cold. So it's not perfect, but when we've been in a group less than 10 people, it's been better.

It's not really tradtionial Szechuan hot, it's more normal chinese with thicker, stronger sauces. Avoid the 'special sweet and sour' (it was really vile), go for the beef, or the kung pao prawns, or the one's in hot chilli garlic sauce and your tastebuds will thank you. The restaurant is nicely decorated with fitting decorations in homage to Chinese style e.g. Chinese artwork and fake cherry blossom and there is pleasant music that can even be heard from the toilets. The service is satisfactory (which is all you can typically hope for in a Chinese establishment) and the seating is comfortable enough. Overall, Toa Kitchen offers traditional Chinese food served well and in an amiable environment. Job well done!

We stumbled across the Beijing restaurant as a takeaway and our initial reactions were fairly circumspect, but only from the outside! As they say you can't judge a book by its cover! Beijing is operated by Malaysians, so folks who are near and dear to my heart. And the food here is a reflection of their past. There are dishes you wouldn't find in Beijing - like Nasi Goreng, and Satay. They're a part of a chain that stretches from Guildford to Addlestone. When we do take away, we usually get the Nasi Goreng, the shredded beef and some measure of vegetables. But I've also been here for lunch too. I'd have to say that their food is a-ok. It would be 4 stars if I wasn't as picky about the fact that the people who run the place are authentically Malaysian, but really on the Malaysian inspired dishes are really worth a higher mark, but the rest is just ok. Good for Surrey, Ok for Addlestone.
