My boys and I wanted some Chinese food for dinner. We checked around, and this location was on our way home. I called to ask for a family meal for 4, and to my surprise, they didn't have one. After ordering 2 large fried rice, 20 wings, 1 large sweet and sour chicken, and 8 egg rolls, the total came to close to $65, which was insane, to say the least. Once we got home and looked at all the containers we had received I realized this was a complete rip-off. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was white, not cooked, the shrimp was overcooked, and the fried chicken had very tiny portions. This is the worst experience ever and $65 was a COMPLETE RIPOFF!!! read more

I've been looking for good Chinese food close to home for a while now. Several people suggested China Cafe so we decided to check it out. They have a large variety of options on their menu. They have lunch and dinner specials. We ordered the lunch special and it comes with meat, fried rice, a spring roll and crab rangoon. The lunch special is around $6 and the sweet tea is huge for less than $2. We ordered our lunch to go. It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. The restaurant is small but clean and the staff are polite. It was our first time eating there but the man taking our order was patient. The food was great. I ordered sesame chicken and it was some of the best sesame chicken I've ever had. They included a fork, condiments and a fortune cookies. We will definitely be back. read more

After having been long-time patrons of China Cafe for 15+ years, after tonight's meal, we are now searching for a new Chinese restaurant. Before tonight, our food was freshly cooked, piping hot, flavorful, and always ready when promised if we called an order in for pick up. Not only was ALL the food cold, we arrived at the time it was to be ready and had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the order of COLD FOOD! The recipe for the Kung Pao was sub par, at best - not the norm for the China Cafe we know. It was totally bland and we requested medium spicy. The chicken fried rice was mostly chopped raw onions and peas with a little chicken mixed in. Awful. Also, not the norm. Portions - you get 1/2 the amount of the entree in the "dinner" and no more little white rice containers of fried rice. The container is divided with the entree on one side and a small amount of rice in the other as if a "lunch portion size." It honestly tasted like frozen Chinese food you would purchase at the grocery store! Things are much different at our favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant and we suspect there may be new owners, as there are different staff now in place of the familiar faces . read more

Great little restaurant down in Angel Plaza. The is VERY affordable place ( especially their lunch special and early bird specials) with GREAT food. It has a sushi bar so you also have the option of sushi. Jason the sushi chef is great at what he does. If you sit at the sushi bar, you'll have a great time. The first time I went the szechuan shrimp was everything. But the generals tso was dried and lacked sauce. The sushi was great. The second time I went the szechuan shrimp was and was 80 mini corn (or whatever that is) and the rest veggies and shrimp. I didn't like that I'd say this place is hit or miss. read more

So, I know there aren't that many great Chinese restaurants in Stockbridge. Usually, we have to drive all the way up to Gwinnett to eat good Chinese food, but I thought we'd give this one a try. Well, let me just say that this restaurant is a small place that cannot seat that many people and probably mostly get pick up or delivery orders. Also, the decor of the place is not very Asian at all. The restaurant menu actually says "China Cafe Waikiki" and has very tropical decorations, which I thought were very ugly. I would prefer more of an elegant Asian decor. The service was ok, but you will probably have three different people serving you- one to seat you, one to take your drink, one to take your order, etc. We ordered the "early bird dinner" which is from 4pm-10pm (how is that considered early bird?), which is a pretty good portion for one person and it's about $8-$9 per person. It comes with egg roll, crab ragoon, soup, white or soy sauce rice (not fried rice). I had the hot & sour soup and I thought it was way too salty/spicy, definitely out the package and not homemade. I order the lo mein noodles, which were pretty good. At least it was cooked right and hot when served. The egg rolls are pretty good, but I am not really into fried food anyways. I would say this is your typical Americanized Chinese food restaurant. It is not homemade style and not exactly that healthy for you either. This was my first and last time there. I would not eat there again because it is just not my style. But if you don't want to have pizza delivered to you, then this might be a better option for you. read more

I've been to all the big name and small name japanese restaurants around including in Atl and CO and I would have to say the sushi here is top notch. Very fresh. The only reason I didn't give them more tars is because I've only thing I've ever eaten from here is their Singapore Noodles. They are so GOOD! Just the right amount of spice. I'm not sure why people decided to comment on the cleanliness. It's pretty clean, no dust on the decor, no yuckies in the grout, or anything like that. The manager has always been nice to us over the last 10 years. It is not high culinary Chinese food, but we enjoy it greatly. I have noticed that when people are excessively rude to the staff, then do not extend themselves beyond basic civility. We ate there for the first time last night and will definitely be back! Their 2 sushi rolls for $7.99 were as good (if not better) than the rolls served at other restaurants for $7.00- $8.00+ EACH. I ordered the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and paid $2.50 extra for shrimp fried rice, and it was great!! Décor was OK, but you also aren't paying for the "hibachi" shows. We also love the fact that they deliver. We though the only places that deliver in our neighborhood were pizza places. Wait staff was prompt and friendly. Food was very good and reasonable priced.
