Second visit here. We came right when they first opened and thought we would give them another go. Good location. They were very busy with take out orders especially. Very clean. We both ordered the lunch special. I got the fried shrimp ( obviously frozen and heavy breading - was expecting a tempura batter ) and the sweet and sour chicken, which was basically what I expected, they were good. The lunch special comes with 2 wontons, which I found dry and chewy. She didn't like them because they had were stuffed with a sweet cream cheese. It also comes with an egg roll, which was typical but no better than anywhere else. She ordered the pepper steak, which she thought was good, and the sesame chicken, which was ordinary. Unfortunately the food was very mediocre at best everything seemed to be a little sweeter than it should be I ordered the Hunan beef which did not have a Hunan pepper in it. The food is okay. I've had better Chinese food elsewhere. The appeal here is the delivery service. That is why it gets two stars. The delivery charge is $2 at first but then when you place your online order you suddenly need a minimum of $25. If you live near the reservoir (within 4 miles of the restaurant), the delivery fee jumps to $3. I try every time to figure out why but no one can give me better details. read more

This experience may have been a result of COVID troubles. However, most of the food was displeasing. The spicy Korean bbq looked fried, and it was utterly inedible. The chicken lo mein had unappealing color, and the dish tasted off. Despite, the sesame chicken, wonton soup, and the potstickers were delicious. This is a fantastic restaurant. They are the only Chinese restaurant that offers delivery and the driver is actually super nice!! This is an excellent option in the Dogwood area! They deliver so that's more of the attraction to this eatery than Ichiban or the many other Asians restaurants in the area! If you don't want to order pizza then this is your best option! But it's the typical food you get at most Asian takeouts! read more

I've heard so much about China Café, so I decided to finally give it a shot. It's in a strip mall, but it's not mall-quality food AT ALL. There's several booths and tables, so it can fit a large group if you need to. The ambience is kind of like a fancy OEC (much cleaner though, but you fix your own drinks, etc...) You order from the counter and the cashier was very friendly. I ordered Sesame Chicken since that's my go-to dish. If you can't make that right, I'm not coming back. My order was brought out to me quickly and the portion sizes were large enough that I couldn't finish my plate. I can't remember exactly, but I think the entree was roughly $10, which is a fair price for the amount of food I got. The food was fresh and delicious. The sauce wasn't "goopy" but still had that classic sticky texture. The fried rice was excellent and I added a little sweet and sour sauce to it and the sauce was fantastic. I absolutely loved the beef and broccoli and sesame chicken. Most Chinese places serve beef like rubber, but it was not the case here. The meat was tender, the broccoli crisp and the sauce savory. The sesame chicken was also tender with little fat. The egg roll was spiced well and tasted pretty good. The only item that lacked was the cream cheese wonton. The cream cheese was a little too sour. It's about time we got something other than pizza that delivers!!! I've placed several delivery orders online and called in a few all for delivery. Delivery can be slow at times so plan ahead (one time it took 90min). The food has been excellent every time always arriving hot. Mongolian beef is my favorite. I have ate at this place 6 times. The food has been good each of the 6 times. In fact the food and service consistency was great the first 4 times. I called in my order 3 of those 4 times and everything was perfect. But the last 2 times when I called my order in it was wrong when I got there to pick it up. I had to wait 15 minutes on both of those visits and she was unapologetic. I noticed that the first few times a older gentleman answered the phone, now a younger female answers it.
