Food here is pretty disgusting. Even the hibachi, which I thought would be safe, was gross. The broccoli had a weird permeating flavor and even our water had soap in it. Seriously? Everything was clearly fried because it was old and the stuff that wasn't fried yet was on it's way out. Would give 0/5 stars if I could read more

I was dragged here by a coworker. I am not a fan of buffets. But as far as buffets go... and keeping an open mind. This one wasn't so bad. It had all the typical things you would expect. A salad bar a soup bar and fried section and then a plethora of stir fry options. I thought the food was good. The price was around $8 dollars per person. I think that's pretty acceptable. The staff was friendly and quick to clear the empty plates. So, I'm giving this a solid OK. read more

My favorite thing about China Buffet is the sushi. Ray is the sushi chef, and he's AWESOME. He always makes us special rolls and remembers what we like and don't like. We're regulars there and the entire staff knows us and loves our three year old daughter. We always feel welcome. True, the buffet food is about the same that you'd find anywhere else, but we go for the sushi, not the buffet. I'm going to miss this place when I move away. read more

We've liked going here for almost a year now and the food is pretty good. The service is usually okay, but tonight they lost some customers. My boyfriend got home a little later than normal, but we looked it up online and the place says it closes at 10:30. We live about 45 mins away. We got there at 9:45. It even says 10:30 on the outside of their building and the open sign was on. They wouldn't seat us because they were closing in "15 minutes". I told them it says on their building and online they close at 10:30. They said they close at 10 so they can leave at 10:30. Oh but don't worry, they said we can "look around and see what they have left". No thanks! They were rude and we don't want to go back if they treat their customers like that. Try going to Ichiban at Concord Mills. It's awesome. read more

This place is very dirty and gross. Everything is cold and all Tongs were disgusting. We had a drink spill, the waitress just said it's okay and walked away. The only decent food was the hibatchi. The quality of the food depends on the time of day you eat there. For example, if you go at 5:00, you get leftover lunch and the quality will be poor. By 6:30 or 7:00 most all the food is fresh and certainly more appealing. Same for lunch; at 11:00, the food is leftover from the night before. Best to go at 1:00. Even at its best, the food is only mediocre - not wonderful, but not awful. When we eat here, we always check the time of the day. read more

This place was decent. About what you'd expect from a buffet. Had a large variety. The teriyaki chicken was good. Good sushi selection. $10.99 per person on a Sunday night. One thing I didn't like was at the dessert bar, they had a cooler case with cartons of ice cream. I think it was about 6 or 8 different flavors. That was nice but they kept the ice cream scoops (you scoop your own) in a container filled with water. The scoopers were submerged about 3/4 of the way so only the end of the mandle was sticking out. Then there was a mechanism to help push the ice cream out of the scooper and into your bowl. The food is mediocre, definitely not worth the fairly reasonable price for the buffet. The variety isn't all that great, the food tastes like it was rushed to be put out to the tables without any real care about the quality, and typically the place is full of ignorant yahoos. If I want top quality Chinese food, I'll stick with take-out from Ting Hao. read more

I have been here several times & always enjoyed the food. I never had the hibachi grill until last night. I enjoy their sushi & the items on the buffet. So you wonder why I am only giving this place 1 star & I will never return. I fixed my plate for the chef to cook on the grill. I had to wait apprx 5 min for him to return from the back of the kitchen area, no problem, I'm usually very patient. But what happened next is what this review is all about. The cook came out of the back area & then up to the grill to cook the food. I asked him if he was going to wash his hands, at first he just looked at me like why would I even ask this. Then he said if I wanted him to, he would, there is a sink about 20 feet from where he was & he had to pass it to get to the grill. I told him yes I would like him to. He then went over to the sink & washed his hands, then came back & told me he doesn't cook with his hands as he was breaking an egg with his hands over my food. He was very ignorant & treated me as if I shouldn't have said anything. My thoughts were, where was he & what was he doing prior to coming out to cook, your guess is as good as mine. Then when he had finished cooking the food & placed it on the counter for me to pick up he made another comment that he even used a clean plate. All along I was polite yet demanding that he clean his hands. I didn't deserve the attitude he gave me & I should have never had to ask him to clean his hands. With the diseases that are rampant today, it is common knowledge for kitchen staff to be sure to be as sanitary as possible. I will never return to China Buffet in Salisbury NC. read more

I went into this restaurant with high hopes and spirits. My friend Eleanor and I were enthusiastic and excited to experience Chinese culture and cuisine. Upon entering, we were seated, and noticed how the entire restaurant looked deserted. Without hesitation, Eleanor and I each grabbed a plate. My plate was clean and polished. Hers on the other hand had a piece of dried food on it. It was crusty and sickening to witness such a health hazard. Not knowing what we were putting on our plate (because the buffet labels are incorrect) we continued back to our booth. The first bite I took tasted dusty. I tried multiple items from the buffet, all in which were disappointing. I feel like the staff are very nice, but the food is just no good. Especially for the $11.99 price, NOT including a drink. Shiiiit you could go to Olive Garden for that. The price is ridiculous. The seafood is not fresh, and all the food smells and tastes old. I think it's literally just been sitting there reheated for eternity. I wish I would've gone to McDonald's honestly. Oh, and the the pastries look decent, but when you bite into them, it's like eating styrofoam covered in rancid sugar. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

I hate I even had to give this place one star. We went there tonight for dinner and the choice of meat is laughable. What they did have out was so dried out and leathery it was uneatable. The crab ragoons were soggy and had very little filling, the egg rolls were also soggy tasted like they had been sitting out there for hours on end. The lo mein noodles were a weird combination of mushy inside with a rubbery outside, I'm not even sure how that was accomplished. My husband got a plate of hibachi and it was drowned in sauce after it was cooked which is something I have never seen done anywhere else before and he ended up with a puddle of sauce on his plate. The sushi selection was also disappointing, so much of what they had was drowned in sauce and after the looks of the other buffet items the thought of eating raw fish from there made me ill. The worst part about it is that all the food that was entirely consumed by my family were the three slices of watermelon my children ate and it ended up costing a family of 4 (with a 4 year old and a 7 year old) 45 dollars and we still ended up having to eat something else for dinner. When I complained at the register the hostess gave a meek apology which was more insulting than anything else and charged me full price. I told her I thought it was unfair because my children were the only ones who actually ate anything considering my husband and I couldn't even make it through 1/4 of one plate of food. She did end up taking a few dollars off the total but I still ended up paying over 40 dollars for watermelon. I highly recommend stopping at Chic-Fil-A or Ocharley's before you even pull in the parking lot of this place. I have never had Chinese food be so discussing in my life. read more
