When I came in here they charged my 9 years old as an adult price, personal was rude, never coming back here again

So I've been having wicked cravings for a Chinese buffet. I drive here from Goodland (35 minutes) just to come here. My family and I were seated sort of quickly and our drinks brought right out. My biggest issue with any buffet is the temperature of the food. In order for food to be 'safe' it should have an internal temperature of AT LEAST 135°. Think about it, room temperature is about 70°. This food was warmer than some places I've been. I waited till they brought a new batch out and got a couple of my dishes then. I had trouble finding the fried rice, then thought to look in a rice cooker. Duh. The food was not labeled, and the few that were were not correct. That's a bit irritating. The sweet and sour sauce was too pineapple-y to me. The floors, tables, silverware and dishes were clean. We never got a refill on our drinks. Would I come back? Yes, but only because it's the only buffet anywhere near me.. read more

Terrible don't wast your money. The service was horrible. It was disgusting how nasty it is in there. There food was under cook. No seasoning there rice tastes like plastic. Overall this place is a monstrosity read more

Used to go here as a kid with the family as it's a buffet and I remember the food differently. The wife and I ordered food to go passing through Colby headed back to goodland. I got orange chicken and she got the sesame chicken, order of crab rangoons and spring rolls. The crab rangoons were delicious, the only problem with them is there was no crab at all, just cheese. Spring rolls were alright. The wife sesame chicken was subpar at best, crunchy yet lacking flavor. The orange chicken I got tasted like fish all around, then in the middle of my food in a piece of "chicken" guess what was found? A literal fish bone. I fish quite often and filet my own fish so I know what I'm saying when I mention a freaking fish bone in the middle of my "orange chicken". F****ing disgusting and will not go back. Why wasn't the golden tapei open at the time? Never going back. I give it a 1/4 star. read more

Amazing service very kind people and the food was amazing! They had so many options from several different meats to veggies, a salad bar, and ice cream everything was cooked very well and was absolutely delicious definitely coming back! 10/10 read more

There is some Chinese food here as well as American food. nothing extravagant for food. basic sweet and sour chicken, Rice, Peppered chicken, Beef and Broc. etc etc. one thing I want to point out is If you're physically disabled and have a service dog your as good as not welcome here.My brother is in a wheel chair and has a service dog and they ALWAYS try and seat him in the back away from everyone else which on one hand I can understand but they still shouldn't segregate someone because they have a service dog. My advice is skip this one and go to Bamboo Garden in Goodland Kansas OR go to Chen Ven Thai in Burlington. Chen Ven doesn't look like much but they have excellent food and they've never told my brother that we're not welcome since we have the dog. read more

We have been in Colby Kansas for a week now decided to go ahead and try It seeing as It was right behind our hotel the host was right off the bat rude asked us how many in our group we let her know 3 because quite often they don't count a 2 year old but she corrected us three times even though no one was arguing It. My SO served him self shrimp from their buffet and didn't finish them all so when It came to hand us the check she asked VERY loudly why he didn't finish his shrimp and if there was a problem. He let her know he was full she stormed off speaking Chinese and you could hear her screaming in the kitchen I'm assuming about him not finishing his food..... so won't be going back just because of the service alone.. the food was fine the way we felt leaving not so much. Also my two year old ate two shrimp not worth charging for him. read more

These Chinese buffets are all alike and all a little different. Since I am allergic to wheat, there's not a lot I can eat in any of them, but this one had enough to keep me satisfied. There was better-than-the-buffet-average fried potatoes. They had five kinds of hard ice-cream. The canned mandarins were a little sour. One kind of chicken seemed not dredged in flour or soaked in soy sauce. It was pretty good. Rice and fried rice were both in cookers. Lots of good-sized shrimp. And lots of folks eating here. read more

If you want to leave hungry and feel like you've been robbed go here. Worst Chinese buffet I've ever had. Diarrhea is eminent. read more

This place was decent. I would prob visit again as it is the only place in Colby to get Chinese food. I will say that the food is greasy and a lot of oil is used but taste good for the most part. Prices are inexpensive during lunch hours and you can get in and out quickly. read more

Very clean and great selection. A welcome relief for travelers. We stopped here by chance as we were looking for something other than fast food. I personally was surprised at the well prepared food and the diverse selection. Never expected to find this place in such a small town but again, it is a welcome respite from the normal fare of travel food. read more

Traveling to back Denver and craving Chinese food. They do have a few selection but don't expect mind blowing quality. Everything is slaughtered with grease and oil. If you just want Chinese food to fill the void then by all means, if you want good tasting quality...I recommend driving another hour to Colorado. read more

Great service and excellent food. We had the buffet and everything was hot and fresh. Our server was very friendly and kept our beverages refilled. read more

Take my kids here all the time and they love it. Kind of hit and miss on the quality but the wantons are always excellent. They also have ice cream! Worth a stop if you are in the mood for Chinese! Great service! read more

Saw the billboard on highway, checked reviews, and then enjoyed a wonderful meal. Clean, hot, delicious and very reasonably priced.

The host is extremely rude! Found dirty plates & silverware about every time we have been there. Always check your total bill. They are will known for over charging people. Don't plan on going back again. Very good Mexican restaurant across the street in the motel. read more

Its called FAMILY BUFFET now... Had food poisoning for a week after a meal here and still not right... Who knows what is incubating in this unclean place! read more

Colby is the halfway point on my frequent Denver-Topeka route. I always try to time the trip so I can enjoy a meal here. The place is clean and the food tables are kept cleaned up. they have a nice selection of dishes that would satisfy almost anyone. seafood dishes ok, but chicken and pork dishes were very good, as were the soups. nice salads and desserts. and the price? this is the best value in Western KS $7 - are you kidding?? try it, you'll probably not be disappointed! read more

The food was not very good at all. The Generals chicken was pasty, most of the food was saturated in butter, and the crab ragoon was so chewy I could not get it down. I gave 2 stars because the pudding was pretty good. read more

I didn't really expect much going into this place but was still underwhelmed. The food was marginal buffet at best. The place was cluttered and soiled. My kids enjoyed it but I ate sparingly and left in short order. read more

I've been coming here for well over 10 years and always loved it, however the new management has absolutely ruined it. Our food is cold, and on top of being cold, the beef was like you took a bite of mashed potatoes but got the meat flavor instead. Soup was cold, Rangoons and chicken were cold. The melon was NOT ripe it was like eating the rinds. The only normal thing was the bananas. I used to love this place but now I will most likely never return. read more

Food is always hot. Great variety. If something needs attended to it gets done soon. Good atmosphere and servers always make sure glasses are filled and dishes are removed from the table. Never have I left this place not full or unsatisfied! read more

If you like cheap, buffet quality, little customer service, and a slight cockroach problem periodically then look no further.

As the only Chinese place in town it isn't bad food if you can tolerate the grease. It's the service that makes the experience not worth the time or the stars. The manager is rude and does nothing but makes you feel uncomfortable. And she is always there and the main person seating you and ringing up the bill. And now she charges children adult prices for a buffet. We spend our money elsewhere. read more

Best Chinese in the area. (The bar is low around here) but they are good nonetheless. Friendly and quick wait staff are a great bonus here.

Food is alright but the people are rude , they push you out before you even get dessert. Probably good on a rush

Ok, first of all yelp's map indicates 2 China buffets in Colby KS, I'm pretty sure there is only 1 on the S end of town right by Sears. I'd say it was pretty average for a Chinese food buffet, but they did offer more selection than the usual buffet. The food was what I expected as far as taste goes. It's not the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in, but definitely not the worst. My girls enjoyed it, and we'd probably eat there again. read more

Good and tasty ! Really recommend! The food is well cooked and fresh ! The price is reasonable .

We were passing through on our way back home from KC to Denver and thought we found a new buffet to stop at on our trips through. Boy, were we wrong. We have eaten at hundreds of Chinese restaurants over the years since we travel extensively. This was the worst Chinese Restaurant we have ever eaten at. We arrived around 12:30 pm on a Monday, so we thought it would be hot and fresh. The chicken dishes were cold, the crab rangoon tasted stale and cold. Everything we tried was bad except for the egg drop soup. The fried rice looked and tasted like it came from a box. There were several others there at the same time but not enough where thwy brought out anything fresh or hot. We are so disappointed since we spent 14.40 with tax for two, 6.95 per person, not incl. drink. We wasted our money on this and could have eaten fast food and had a better experience. We hope we do not get food poisoning since the chicken dishes were cold. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more
