I've been going to Marina Auto Body for over ten years now they recently changed their name to Chilton Auto Body. In the last ten years or so span I've take 4-5 different cars for body repair . All of them have been repaired very nicely in the past no issues . The last time there I took my 2025 BMW 760 IL for front end damage I noticed a blemish after the work was done I took it back for warranty repair . I ended up speaking with a person by the name of James I think he wore glasses . I was not very happy with the way he tried to handle the situation he was not helpful at all little combative . Unfortunately Norm the manager was not there that day so I had to speak with him instead . At that point I decided not to waste any more time going back and forth with him I told him to please have Norm the GM reach out to me . That same day Norm reached out to me reassured that everything will be mended my car will look perfect just like new not to worry . Next morning he called me back said please bring your car in so we can work on it right away . Norm was very professional the way he handled everything he really knows how to handle or run that shop . That's why I always recommend that shop to all of my friends and family . Once again Kudos to Norm he made sure I was a happy client and remain a loyal customer for life . I want to start by saying that my car ultimately looks great, and I appreciate that Marina Auto Body made things right in the end. The quality of the main body and paint work is solid, and they did follow through to resolve issues before final delivery. That said, the process was more stressful than it needed to be due to communication gaps and missed details. From the beginning, I clearly communicated that my vehicle had XPEL PPF. What wasn't clearly explained upfront was that the PPF reinstallation would be handled by a third-party installer arranged by the shop, and expectations around timing and replacement were vague. While the replacement PPF is also XPEL, the installation quality did not match my original XPEL Fusion install. The cuts were not as clean, and there were visible trim/knife marks in areas that are usually hidden, which was disappointing on a car I take great care of. At my initial pickup, additional issues were discovered, including a paint/clear coat reaction on the door and a scratch on the headlight. Because of this, the car had to be taken back in and I was placed in a rental from Monday through Wednesday while the issues were corrected. The rental was covered, which I appreciated, but it did mean extra waiting and another return trip that could have been avoided with a more thorough final inspection. Juan, who handled my case, was polite and responsive, and I do appreciate the effort to ensure everything was fixed before final delivery. Overall, Marina Auto Body does quality work, but better upfront communication, clearer coordination with third parties, and stronger final quality checks would have made this a 5-star experience. read more

Lifesaver! Somehow in the middle of our day, my fiancé's Subaru's front passenger seat window became misaligned. Since we were in Pasadena, we just drove to the Hilton LAX for our next stop before looking for an auto body shop of some sort. My fiancé found Marina Auto Body through Google and after calling them, while they said they couldn't guarantee a fix, they could at least see what was going on. In the process of everything, while they couldn't fix the cause of our issue, they at least realigned the glass which was already more than what we could ask for since they did it as soon as my fiancé could get there and they would be busy soon. The front secretary was super sweet and even offered us a bottle of water. After the stressful couple of hours, it was much needed. All in all, 10/10 customer service wise. read more

Marina Auto Body was fantastic! I own a Toyota Corolla that I rent out from time to time and sadly was damaged. The bumper was hanging on for dear life but thankful I was covered by rental insurance. I found Marina Auto Body and was referred to Norm. He was great, set me up right away and let me know what would be needed to complete the work, very fair price! After back and forth beyond the rental insurance regarding repairs, which Marlene did a great job of keeping me updated on throughout the process, I received the car back in great condition, looked like a brand new car. Though the process took about a month and a half, it was well worth the wait. Hopefully I won't have to return for any future issues but if so at least I know where I'll be bringing my vehicle. An honest young man rang my doorbell and told me that his tire blew and damaged my car. I read the reviews of collision repair places and called one to make an appointment and their mailbox was full. I called someone at my dealer's and he said he took his car to Marina Auto Body in Inglewood. A tow truck operator and his wife (co-owner) picked up the car and me and drove us there. I met the owner and asked for a tour of the place. Immaculate. I saw the work they were doing on other cars. The cosmetic problems were gone over and the suspension also probably needed work. I was given a time estimate (they beat it), I was kept up to date, finances were discussed (though the young man's insurance company was covering it) and the owner thought that a free paint job might be in order due to a Toyota problem with paint not adhering properly). I truly didn't think it was my car when I got a call to pick it up. My 2015 car looks like I just drove it off the showroom floor! These experiences rarely go off without a hitch. Top notch honest shop. I've been using Marina Auto Body for years and have always had a great experience. I lease my cars and when work was needed, the end of lease inspection was always passed with flying colors. They use OEM parts and take no shortcuts and their warranty on repairs excellent. Juan and Steve get my highest praise. They're my favorite people I hope to never see! I just had some repair work done on a brand new car, and it took a while to complete because of supply chain issues, but everything was expedited as parts arrived. I took my car here twice for body work. The first time my car had to be in the shop longer. I was ok with it but my insurance didn't cover mg rental anymore so I had to pay out of pocket for it until my car was fixed. I wish I would've asked them if they cover rental fees after the insurance. I do recommend anyone asks if it's possible they help cover rental cost after the insurance pays. The second time I noticed my splash guard started dragging! I was on the freeway when this happened! I took it back and they claim they didn't touch it and etc, and I must have hit a dip or something. Now splash shields are blotted and I had front damage because of an accident. I'm not pointing fingers but I found that strange because I never had a problem with my splash shield and it doesn't come un blotted by itself but ok, I let it slide. Also my side light popped out when I turned my wheel out. They just glued it so it wouldn't stick out. Eric was very helpful and professional and also extremely knowledgeable on things. Where can I even begin?! So my car was crashed into while parked. I've never in my life have been in an accident or had to deal with a car insurance claim. I didn't have that much knowledge of what the process is in order for my car to be repaired. When I was asked where did I want my car taken to, "a body shop near my house or a top quality service body shop" of course a top quality body shop. Marina Auto Body! From the first time I called in for my car to be towed to the whole process of my car being repaired and the day I picked it up, they were ALWAYS so helpful! At one point through the whole stress of my insurance claim and adjuster not being great at her job... Arnold M. assured me and made me feel for the first time some peace of mind regarding my cars status and estimate. He was so nice and patient and to even answer my questions of a "crazy lady afraid of losing her car". I knew this a place where they actually cared for their customers. My car was in the right place. -My car was projected to be done in about two weeks... it was actually done in 1! I'm so grateful to everyone who took my calls and took care of my car. My company vehicle was rear ended at the end of October. I had several choices of shops to consider, this being one of them. I had to schedule an appointment for them to look at it, which was fine, but once they took all the pictures and the paperwork, I didn't hear anything for a few weeks. They hadn't submitted everything to the lease company for approval. Once I followed up, and they got it back on track, it took another few weeks to schedule it. By that time it was December 18th, which is ridiculous. They don't order parts until they receive the vehicle. I just called them and they told me they ordered parts, but they won't tear down the vehicle to see what else it needs until the ordered parts arrive. What???? Tear it down now and order whatever else it needs for crying out loud! I chose this business for this job, not the other way around. I very much regret it. This is not the excellence they have on their on hold message or the commitment to excellence they show in marketing, but not in practice. Should really be a one star, but maybe they will do an excellent repair job. We'll see. read more

We had my wife's car towed to the spot based on a recommendation from our insurance company and their yelp rating. We were told that it would take a day for them to look at the car and get back to us with an estimate. Four days later we still have not received a response from them regarding our car. Upon reaching someone we were told by the manager that his front desk person was not there and did not give him the paperwork for our vehicle. The overall experience was not only unprofessional but disheartening. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have already spoken with Hertz and State Farm, and you were the last business involved to get back to me when I called. I don't appreciate being told what I do or do not know, as you did in your comment. I did not arrange for Hertz to be involved. I came to your shop and was told several times by your employees that the shop would be handling everything with State Farm and the rental car after I made my claim with State Farm. State Farm and Hertz have been very helpful to me actually. If you have issues with them, take it up with them. I have no interest in speaking with you unless you're going to tell me you're giving me my money back. Update: Apparently they did not inform the rental car company that I had returned my rental car after my service (they arranged the rental), and I was unexpectedly charged around $260 1.5 months later by the rental car company! I called Marina Auto Body, and I still haven't heard back or received an apology. Rental car company says it's "working on" a refund. I want my money back. read more

Did not get a response to their online appt request so I just went to the location. Google stated their hours were 7:30a-5:30p. The front door was open & there seemed to be plenty of staff in the office at 7:45a. A pleasant woman informed me they opened at 8a but to have a seat to wait for a technician. Not 5 min. later, an extremely helpful technician simply popped the piece back on to my car back to its original condition. Everyone was friendly & helpful. My experience with Marina Auto Body was Outsanding! My transaction with Marina Auto started 2/28/19. my car was wrecked and LAPD towed it Bruffy's. According to my insurance, My car was taken here. I spokewith my insurance with marina auto body(Christy). she was symphathetic about my accident. Chridty answered all my questions. She then sent me all the paper work via e-mail. i was able to sign all paper work using my iPhone and emailed it back to her. saved me the hassle of driving through the rain and traffic! very efficient! Yesterday, marina auto body advised me that my car is totaled i went to pick up my stuff today. i was impressed with their office because it was clean, and a pleasant front desk was very accomodating. the agent that brought my car out was also accomodating he had his umbrella ready and held the umbrella over my head while i was gathering my belongings from my car. I pick my car up a few days ago and it look's worse now then when I took it in for repairs. Matt was the initial contact person who never responded to call and when he did it was always some lame excuse as to why my vehicle wasn't ready. It took them 3 weeks to finished my vehicle and they did a poor piss job cause it was one day before my rental car had to be turned in and they would have to cover the remaining days on any rental. The didn't even take time to wash the car it still had the orange ID number written on the window. They returned my key remote with missing slide to support the structure of the remote to stay firmly closed. I believe they damaged other parts of my car claiming I had front end damage when I was hit on the side. I have my car service regularly and was never told these damages was there and we all know car dealer are always looking for something to repair when you take your car in for a simple oil change. I had an absolute nightmare repairing my Toyota prius that had been rear-ended, and it all started with this place. When I was rear-ended, a drink I was holding was thrown from my hands and permanently stained the entire roof of the car and got all over the dash. They claimed they wouldn't be able to replace the headliner, and said they would try to get the stain out, but that it probably wouldn't come out. They were apathetic, at best. I had given up on getting the headliner and interior of the car fixed, and settled for getting the bumper fixed. When it came time to take the car in, I arranged a rental car and dropped it off. A day or so later, they called me and told me to pick up my car because the repairs that had been done on it by another body shop from another accident were so severe - they claimed- that they couldn't fix the car and guarantee the work. They told me to pick up the car immediately, which was super inconvenient and stressful since I'd rented a car for a week. Their claim that they couldn't fix a minor dent in a bumper was ridiculous because the previous shop was also a AAA approved shop and AAA had to sign off on the work that was done. More importantly, they didn't go out of their way to lift a pinkie finger for me. They couldn't have cared less. I took the car into Marina WEST auto body, who treated me like their number one priority. They rented a car for me, got AAA to come out to approve a headliner replacement, AND replaced the bumper with an original, new Toyota bumper for no extra charge. They handled everything from start to finish, and really showed me that they cared. Thanks to them, the interior of my car isn't permanently ruined AND they took all the stress off my hands and handled it themselves. Thanks for nothing, Marina Auto Body! read more

Unknowledgeable office personal at this LAX INGLEWOOD location. I made an online appointment the fourth week of DEC for an estimate on auto body work. I received a confirmation email from them with my appointment date of DEC 27 @ 1PM. I showed up at 12:50 some guy in the office with blonde streaks in his hair named WARREN maybe tells me they do make estimate appointments online. There is no one there to give me an estimate on the repairs I need. A total waste of time. Find a better body shop to spend your on. Excellent customer service from Tom, the owner. Steve was my go to person and he was very good with providing updates. I had a slight miscommunication with Steve and Tom was out of the office but he immediately called me back, cleared things up, and even offered to give me his cell number. My insurance company referred me there and I'm very pleased with the repairs. I hope I never need body work again but I would definitely use them again. My only mistake was taking my car to the Marina del Rey location because, unknown to me, it's only for drop off and pick up so my car was taken to Inglewood. *Editing based upon recent events* I wrote the below review based on my overall disappointment and experience with this place, but have to update after the great follow up I had. Almost instantly after I wrote the review, Tom, the owner of the place called me directly. He expressed his concern and disappointment with how his team handled my time there and assured me that this wasn't how this place operates and wanted to make it right. He definitely came through and completely changed how I viewed this place. They fixed the remaining issue with my car and he personally kept me updated on the parts and turn around time for completion on my car. We both discussed that communication was my only ask and he made sure to stay on top of that the second time around. Doing a 180 on my view of this place and really appreciate the team going above and beyond to make this right. I wouldn't hesitate now to come back to this place now. Do yourself a favor and choose any other body shop but this one for car repairs. I chose Marina Auto Body because they work directly with State Farm and were the closest facility that could fix my cars. Big mistake, next time I'd rather take the inconvenience of LA traffic than deal with this place. I ended up getting an appointment fairly quickly so had a positive outlook on this place, dropped off my car and should have known right away this was going to be a pain to deal with. I asked the front desk if they had a shuttle service and they said yes, great! Or so I thought, until I waited for about 15 minutes with no update and ended up just calling a Lyft. They weren't busy, two other people in the lobby, so not sure what that was about but didn't think twice about it until later in the car repair process. Typically when you drop off something to be fixed, you expect a follow up call within a few days with a projected timeline, a couple days went by and I didn't hear anything, so gave them a call. Talked to the guy working on my car and he said he would have it done the following week, awesome, right?! Nope, week came and went with no update so on the following Monday I decided to call to get an update. Talked to the guy and he said it would be done in a couple more days, no apology for the missed date but he would give me a call when it was ready. Surprisingly, I get a call a couple days late only to hear they need more time. Something happened with my suspension not passing some test so they'd need more time, how much time I ask, they don't know so will give me a call the next day when they have a better idea. 3:45 rolls around the next day and nothing. Not a single call, so guess who calls again, me. Missed the guy by a few minutes but he gave me a call shortly after with another update; they needed to get some other part figured out, but they'd give me a call when they knew more(riiiiight). Friday rolled around and I was hoping for an update before the weekend, but no call, so gave them a call for another update. My guys not in the office, but the front desk lady assures me he will call me Monday or she will personally with an update. Guess who didn't get a call on Monday, so close of business I give them a call to get another update and he part is in they just need to get it passed through whatever tests they do and it'd be ready to go in a couple days. Holy cow guess who got a call when it was ready to go, yay, finally! I couldn't pick it up last minute, hence my needing updates to arrange a time to pick it up, so I go to get it the next day. Car looks good, but my front license plate is missing and some SVC/tire pressure sensor is going off that wasn't there before. Guy tells me it's something I myself would have to replace, but he checked all the tires and everything is fine so just ignore that, really?? I'm driving around now with the sensor still going off, so how am I supposed to know when the sensor is actually an issue?! My front license plate was missing as well, call that out to him and he goes running into a big pile of scrap metal where my old bumper is and grabs it. He asks me if I want him to put in the new holes for the front bumper to hold the plate. At this point it's taking everything in me to keep calm, but there was no way I was wasting another minute on that place so walk away with my front bumper on my hand rather than on my car. Listen, I work in customer service/project management so know things happen that many times are out of your own control, but all it takes are phone calls with updates to avoid these situations. If I would have gotten a few calls stating my car is too dangerous to drive and not passing tests, I would have said to keep it as long as you need it. Instead I was fed BS timelines and filled with hope my car was almost done when it wasn't. 7 outgoing calls, 3 incoming(one of which was a returned call), 0 apologies later, and a car not fully fixed. Long story short, I had two different people within three days apart hit me while I was sitting at red stop lights. Talk about frustrating! Thankfully, both claims came out as being uninsured drivers which I have coverage for. I initially picked Marina Auto Body because it was a AAA approved shop. The cost of repairs from my insurance could be paid directly from AAA to the shop. Talk about convenience! My front and rear bumpers needed work as well as the driver side door. Neil, the general manager, called me several times throughout the week that they had my car to let me know the updates and he answered all of my questions and was always very friendly and helpful. When I picked up my car it looked amazing! Everything was as it should be. The paint job and repairs were pristine. They even cleaned the outside and inside of my car! When I left, Neil took me to my car that he parked right out front for me, handed me a complementary water, and microfiber towel for wiping the car down. Every staff member I met was friendly and helpful every step of the way. Thank you to all who worked on my car!
