The Chiltern Hotel is a decent safe place to stay, with the check-in desk directly facing the elevators to the guest rooms. At all hours there was an attendant clearly watching the elevators. The bed was sufficiently comfortable, and the bathroom provided ample towels, soap and shampoo for the guest. My main complaint is the photographs do not match the room I was assigned. The furniture is clearly dated, and the room, while clean, did have signs of neglect (rust stains in bathtub, cracks in ceiling, non functional air conditioner). The photos depict contemporary furnishings and higher end furnishings in the bathroom. The food is clean and sufficient but lacks much in taste. Upon returning to the airport for an early flight out of Luton, the driver reported that he knew of better priced and furnished hotels closer to the airport that weren't visible on typical travel sites. I confirmed those better rates upon arriving home. read more
