We don't have a reservation, but are accommodated in their modest 5-table conservatory with a skylight. The patrons are mostly, if not entirely, Americans. The location: 5 /5 The hotel lobby and bathroom 4 The conservatory 3.5 The service 4 The menu cover 5 The tea 3 The food 3 The cover of the thin menu is charming, far more attractive than the venue and food. They offer two kinds of tea: black and green, which includes mixed. I tried the Herbal Infusion, which is ok, and Jasmin, which is inferior, a mere supermarket issue in the eyes of a Chinese tea drinker. The food, except for the smoked salmon, is slightly below average, feeling old and tired, despite being a fan of scones and shortbread. I hardly touched the £8/$10.69 Kingsdown still water, it's really unnecessary. It's our museum day. Between the army museum and the British Museum, we're hunting for lunch near the latter. The elegant Georgian townhouses, dating back to 1860 in the heart of Bloomsbury, caught my eye. They're next to the British Museum, on the quiet Montague Street. Arriving, I was thoroughly pleased to have dined on the terrace, with its vibrant stained glass in the wonderful London sunshine! (Sunshine, rare... right?) :) Curated by Michelin Chef Jean Georges Vongerichten, the experience, of course, includes finger sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. The setting is polished, the staff - courteous & eager to assist with the myriad of selections, tailoring to one's preferences and/or willingness to explore outside of the norm. Starting with champagne of your choosing, the amuse bouche follows shortly thereafter. Following that, one is encouraged to try as many teas as possible, several being sourced from Southeast Asia, amongst the British standards. The finger sandwiches were surprising in flavor vibrant, save for the standard cucumber sandwich - being quite bland as it was. The teas I savoured were most delicate and not overpowering. Promptly, the tea tower arrived with scones and playful sweets. The scones, fresh and warm, were served with clotted cream, apricot and strawberry spreads. Imho, the strawberry could easily be replaced by a more unique flavor - boysenberry, pumpkin, gooseberry - anything other than what we can find in our local grocer. If Chef is going for a singular experience, this is a great talking point. But the two flavors served, didn't take away from afternoon tea, either. On to the sweet delights: Full disclosure, I wanted unique presentation, and these served. Of all the deserts, only one fell flat. The varied in flavor intensity and texture, making each new one a surprise for the palate. I was surprised at the manner of dress, as some dined in jeans, though most dressed for the occasion. This review is long overdue, and in some ways it is an apology. Years ago, I treated my parents to…read morea stay at the Four Seasons Park Lane when I was proud, exhausted, and deeply invested in giving them something special. When a few things fell short, I reacted with an intensity I regret today. The truth is, I wanted the experience to be flawless because I love my parents, had worked incredibly hard, and hadn't yet learned how to leave the pressure and hard edges of working in high finance in Mayfair at the office. Looking back, what remains is a gorgeous hotel in an extraordinary location, a tasteful room, excellent breakfasts and afternoon tea, and the memory of giving my parents a few special days in London, my favorite large city in the world. Time has also given me a much better appreciation for hospitality itself: hotels are run by human beings, holidays are complicated, and even exceptional places will occasionally have an imperfect day. Serving extremely wealthy people must come with its own occupational hazards, including expectations that can become detached from reality, and I suspect I was unconsciously emitting some of the same intensity I was experiencing in my own professional world. There is real skill in absorbing that pressure with grace, and Four Seasons somehow makes extraordinarily difficult work look effortless. Four Seasons remains one of the great hospitality brands in my mind, and its ability to deliver that standard at scale is equally impressive. This is the best of the best: London, Mayfair, Hyde Park, and what I believe is one of the finest hotel locations anywhere on the planet. The trip ultimately taught me something about expectations, gratitude, and the privilege of being able to treat the people who have done so much for you. I hope to return someday with more perspective and enjoy this remarkable hotel for what it is.

Our service throughout our stay was amazing. We liked the complimentary multigrain crackers and they gave us 4 extra jars. In terms of accomodations, the shower was old and weak. I definitely wished I had a stronger shower.

You are given 90 minutes for all you can drink tea and all you can eat sandwiches (but not pastries). We were seated under the giant chandelier at the middle of the restaurant. Our server came over and explained the tea experience and then we ordered our first tea. I chose the Singapore Breakfast first. It was alright. I basically never drink tea so I'm not the best person to ask. I wasn't really sure how this worked, but as soon as you start drinking the servers come around and fill your cup up again. If I went again I'd be sure to tell them I only want 1 cup and then to switch to something else. Up next, I tried the Matcha Nara. It certainly had a matcha taste which I've grown to like over the years. I also tried a milk oolong. I thought it tasted the same as the Singapore Breakfast. The server looked at me like I am crazy lol. The final tea I tried was the 1837 Black Tea. I thought this was the best of the 4. I wish this was more like a brewery where I could just line up shots of the teas and try all of them, but I guess that's not how this works. For food, they first bring you these micro sandwiches. I thought the chicken one and the pastrami ones were very good. The other ones I'd pass on. For pastries, I tried all of them. I by far and away liked the lemon cookie best. 2nd best was the peanut butter macaroon. I'd pass on all of the other pastries. Coolest ever to go boxes. Beautiful setting.
