Its a bit further down the main road but worth the walk. The owner was so gracious he recommended a few dishes and even prepared one for us we hadn't ordered which was our fav..chilli chicken. The special Naan was so good it was almost like eating dessert. Wasn't too crowded just a steady stream of people and lots of take out pick ups. Will see come back when we are in Leicester again.

Do not under any account go to this restaurant if you like a curry after 12 pints of lager. Don't…read morego if your idea of Indian food is eye wateringly hot chicken phal, nor if you like blood red Tikka Massala. This is, to its loyal and discerning followers, by a considerable distance the best Indian food that you will find in Leicester. Family run, by a gujarati family displaced from Kenya more than 30 years ago, it conforms to the highest standards. I have been going there for 15 years and can say, with total honesty, that I have never had a bad meal. With the wonderfully courteous Dinesh looking after the 40 cover restaurant, which has been recently fully refurbished, and brother Ashok masterminding the cooking, a visit is more akin to a visit to an exclusive dining club than your regular curry house. Meat, fish and vegetarian options are imaginatively and stylishly prepared and served, and Ashok will happily cook to order if your particular favourite is not on the extensive menu. This place does not get awards, or feature in guides because it doesn't need to. The do not need to solicit cheap publicity. Beloved by Leicester's Indian and English communities alike, it is a good idea to book because it can be packed - and not always only on Friday and Saturday. I cannot recommend highly enough, because if you want a truly high quality meal (not the cheapest, but that should not be an issue) then this is the one. With starters, sweets and a few beers, it can run to thirty or forty pounds a head. But it is money well spent.

Not the easiest of places to find by signage. But it's by the very small round about driving into oadby from Leicester rd. Theres also a hugh red sign opposite. Moving on now. The service was attentive from the start. I work in the restaurant industry and the only thing I'd like to see is a drinks page in the menu book. The menu book is laid out very well. With lots to choose from. Kid friendly. There was no rushing us. We both choose different meat and rice options. With tasty nan breads. Every mouth full was yummy. I'm hoping to go back this week for seconds. Before I leave the country on sunday. I wish them lots of years ahead.

I have lived in Leicester for nearly 9 years now, and tried many of the curry restaurants all over…read morethe city and county and this is the best by quite some way. Authentic delicious food, (never had a 'bad' dish) and service and surroundings that are second to none. I have a dairy intolerance, am vegetarian, and can't eat spicy food and the staff there are absolutely fantastic. They recommend dishes, make them up according to the bizarre diet stuff, and are always happy to change or remake the dish if it is too spicy. I really can't recommend this place enough, my husband who is really fussy and critical also thinks it is one of the top Indian restaurants. They welcome children, not in a 'here's a plastic slide' kind of way but in a 'they are part of the family' way - if you know what I mean. No specific things for children, but a welcoming attitude and we've never felt like we were putting anyone out. Definately worth a visit, and their new restaurant in Glenfield also has the great combo of delicious food and excellent service.
