When the sign out the front of a cafe claims it's primary selling point is "Clean Bathrooms for Diners", you know in a small country town's main drag, this is the place to be. Of course the bustling cafe full of people also made this point clear.
We stopped at Chillbillies for lunch and quickly gravitated towards the counter to order. We'd not seen the menu, so probably appeared to be rabbits in headlights to the girl behind the counter. We opted for simple wraps - a ham and salad for myself, the caesar chicken for him and drinks from the fridge.
We sat at our table to wait for our wraps to be delivered. They were still in their plastic wrap. For $7 each I guess I was expecting something a little more, shall I say, robust. There wasn't much to write home about on these uneventful salad wraps - simple but effective perhaps?
By the number of people coming in as we are lunch it's easy to tell this spot is prime for locals and passers through. It's also the best out of the bunch from what I could gather of our choices along Dugong's Main Street. So while it might not be what we're used to in the "Big Smoke", it's decent for a country lunch and a better option for us than the menu the pub down the road was offering. read more
