This will be a fast review because, well, it's just Chili's. During the pandemic this was a great to-go option to break out of the fast food rut but it's never been my favorite chain doing this style of dining. That said my recent visit was decent. I used to get the smoke house (?) combo but they took out some options and sides so I've moved on from that, bring back pickles and coleslaw you cowards! Decided to get that new Big Mac style burger and was pleasantly surprised that it was really good! They do the "pink or no pink" thing here, not a fan of that. My burger was a bit too underdone in the center but at least it was mostly edible. Fries are inconsistent, some WAY too seasoned and overly salty. Service has always been pretty good at this location, friendly and prompt. I'd actually give them a 3.5 overall if I could. I dont like the digital check out thing, its an annoyance and a distraction and takes away from the service aspect that a place like this needs to have to survive. Their margaritas taste so good but the service sucks. The food is okay. The hot mozzarella appetizer wasn't even stringy. The server is oblivious with her tables or sections. We could have walked out if we want to and not pay. We waited for her for good 30 minutes for our check since the kiosk wasn't working and not bringing up our checks. We asked the bus boy and he could not even find her. Finally found her talking at the bar waving her down that we are ready for our checks. Y'all play too much! I was at a family member's house in the area and we decided to get delivery. I go on the ol' delivery app and see mostly chains out in BuFu. Then I come across "It's Just Wings". Finally a local spot I can support, I thought to myself, yay~let's do this! My food comes...and it's from Chili's. Apparently they have a carry out option that is chicken based and they call It's Just Wings. Y'all shady! I felt so duped. That being said, it was cheap af and delicious, lol! I used some codes and ended up with some dip, 22 wings and a hershey's pie for $28 - and that was including a $10 tip. So seriously, cheap as heck. It pains me to say that the wings were crispy on the outside but plump on the inside with a mild spice on the garlic parmesan pieces. They even came with curly fries and those were bomb, too. I was at the Round Lake Beach Chilis last night. They seem understaffed and the few there are not happy to be. We sat at the bar and instead of a hello 2 menus were slapped down in front of us, with a what do you want to drink question asked like we were disturbing them. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken crispers. There is nothing spicy about them. How they call it Nashville hot I can't understand. It was a greasy slop of something poured over the chicken. A few hours later I had bad stomach pain. I didn't know this part when my husband ate my left overs. He also felt the same as I did after eating the chicken. I order delivery from Chili's. I usually get one of their "big mouth" burgers as I'm not a huge fan of Southwestern cuisine. The burgers are good and I like the wide choice of sides, BUT... For the love of God, someone PLEASE HIDE THE SALT from the kitchen staff! The food is WAY over-salted. Are they trying to give their customers high blood pressure or cause them to go into kidney failure?!!? Don't they understand that customers can add their own salt if they want their food super-salty? I just finished a BBQ brisket burger with roasted asparagus that was a challenge to choke down, it was so salty. The only reason I didn't toss it in the garbage was because, with delivery, it cost me a pretty penny. I know I shouldn't expect too much from chain restaurants, but typically my husband and I enjoy going to this chili's location. Yesterday it was horrendous. We showed up at 7:30 pm on a Monday evening. There were tables but obviously it was not packed jam like a weekend. The hostess face looked puzzled when I told him we needed a table for 7. Which he told me that they could not accommodate. As they just have their large booth to another family (a family of four). I told him that putting two tables together would do just fine. He told me that all of their tables were used up (when in fact they weren't). I asked if we could be seated in the back room. And he told me no. That they were not using that area tonight. Like DUDE. You would rather break up a family with a newborn baby and two young kids instead of seat us where we would all fit?? Yup. They would. So we were sat at two separate booths. After being seated I noticed that there were in fact people being sat in the area that he claimed they weren't using. So idk what that was about. Our server showed up late. She took absolutely forever to take our orders and bring our drinks. She didn't write our orders down which I thought was ignorant, because YEP you guessed it. We were missing parts of our orders. My burger came out with no fried or avocado. Which she instantly made a excuse (I wanted to bring you fresh fries and the avocado wasn't looking very good, so I made them cut a new one). My daughter never text her asparagus. And she had to ask my son what he ordered because she forgot.... Fast forward a whole thirty minutes, we're done eating. And I still never received fries. Nor did my daughter receive her asparagus. I was pretty pissed at this point. I was never offered a refill. I had to ask 3 times to get my fries that was supposed to come out with my meal. She literally brought them after she took my burger plate away. We were never apologized to. Never comped any food. It was a disgusting experience. Chili's is a favorite of mine and I thought it was finally time to make a review. Me and my girlfriend come in here often and always get the 2 for 25 (which is an amazing deal). Our waitress this visit was very nice and was always checking in on us making sure we were doing okay. The food came fast and tasted delicious, we started with the Texas cheese fries, one of our favorite appetizers and tasted great. My girlfriend got the 6oz sirloin with fries and loaded mashed potatoes while I got the chicken fajitas and were both delicious, the only downside was my fajita veggies and rice were pretty burned, but tasty nonetheless. For dessert we got the cookie skillet and it was so gooey this time and it always hits the spot, making it the perfect way to end our visit. Overall, 4/5 stars. Staff was great, experience was great, and food was great except for the fajitas being burned. That won't stop us from always coming back here though. Keep up the great work guys! :) read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. I've had many meals here before and the server I had before was great. This time it was the polar opposite! The server that I had was Zandria. Beginning: She first took our order and we ordered spinach queso dip for the appetizer. When the spinach dip came I asked her why it was basically empty and she responded "it always comes like that" and she walked away. I understand it was busy but no excuse for that. Then our order comes in and she brings out the wrong order for one of us and brought out shrimp pasta instead of shrimp fajitas. Her response was then "oh shit yeah that's my bad" and goes back to take it back. Then she had left my food out and the other one was not correct yet so I waited to eat until both entrees were out. Once both entrees were out she had forgotten the side for the shrimp fajitas (Beans) now my food was cold. At this point the lights in the restaurant turned off for about only 1 minute.( this was not a big deal but just added on to a horrible all around experience experience). Once I had tasted my food besides being cold it was actually very good and the fajitas were excellent as well. Zandria this whole time hadn't refilled our drinks once yet. Also she proceeded to say she threw in some extra shrimp in the fajitas and it was the same as always (lie number 1). She then told us "I charged you for the shrimp pasta instead of giving you a discount because it's 9 dollars less and saves you more than s discount, sorry about that". (Lie #2 she charged us for the original so she didn't have to tell the manager what she did). This was absolutely horrible service. I didn't want to even talk to a manager I just wanted to leave. Last time I was at this location, I had a server (bald male) who was absolutely phenomenal and tipped him 60 percent for being so personable with Great service. I would ask to sit elsewhere if you are put in Zandria's section or avoid this location all together. Update the next day Sunday the 4th I have now received food poisoning and just now stopped throwing up last nights meal. First time ever receiving food poising from a restaurant. As with most chain restaurants, there is nothing overly grand to write home about in terms of the menu. However, the menu is consistent and at this particular location, I've been pleased with the service which does make a difference. At this location they also seem to be more apt to adjust the menu item to fit your personal taste. Even during rush hour times the wait staff don't seem to falter and the food comes out as ordered and with a good presentation. During my last visit, I got the chicken fajitas, they came out sizzling and smelling good. The chicken was moist, and the accompanying onions & peppers were good and not overdone. My only complaint for that visit was the raspberry ice-tea was not very raspberry tasting and the tea taste was rather pungent. A tip to the those of you who don't like eating around a lot of toddlers/babies. Don't let them sit you in the back aisle, where the rest rooms are located. This seems to be the designated spot where they place babies and toddlers, which I assume is because the aisle itself is wide and accommodates the high chairs better. read more

My family and I had been going to this location for roughly the past decade. Ever since Covid hit, the restaurant has taken a consistently steep decline. The last two times we tried to dine-in at the restaurant we were stuck waiting 10-15 minutes for a host to seat us. On the first occasion the food came out at varying times and somehow was all cold or the wrong order. The second of the two occasions we decided to seat ourself at the bar after 10 minutes of waiting in front of line (only one table was seated in the whole restaurant) only to be told that wasn't allowed and we would have to go wait to be seated (put us in back of line only for no host to seat any one of the 3 groups waiting that were now waiting ahead of us). We promptly decided to leave and try our luck anywhere else. After an astonishing amount of convincing ourselves another try at the establishment may be better, we were swiftly smacked in the face with regret. The wait staff seems quite understaffed, but did their job to the best of their ability given the assumed situation. Our appetizer of chips and salsa were so cold it seemed as if they had been sitting on ice before being delivered to our table. When it comes to the main course, I was even more displeased. I ordered like an 8 year old and asked for "plain cheese quesadillas with no sour cream or salsa and an order of fries". I received a plate of the greasiest excuse for food I've ever seen. With that said the cheese quesadillas looked like someone seasoned them with ranch and asphalt along with the middle of the plate being piled high with sour cream and salsa. The fries however were cooked to perfection and seasoned quite well! Sadly, I will not be returning to this location for the foreseeable future. Struggling service, terrible food, beyond high prices. One of the best sit down family restaurants in the area. The food is always good and staff always friendly. I don't think we have ever come here and had bad service but one waiter in particular stands out, Anthony. He is undeniably our favorite waiter there! Prices are reasonable, the 2 for $22 is a great deal but be careful if you're having drinks with dinner. The margaritas are always good, almost too good! You put a few of those down with lunch or dinner and your bill will inevitably be a little on the high side.
