We checked in in the middle of the night, so we couldn't see much. We knew we had to cross a new bridge and when we did we could make the outline of the cabin, which we already knew was on the smaller size. When we walked in and soaked the place up it seems so much larger inside. The space was so efficiently built that there was a living room, full kitchen and the sleeping area upstairs. By knows means is it Ginormous though. We slept great and the next morning we were treated to the view of horses, sheep, chicken and goats in the pasture back beyond the bridge and field we came in from. We explored the farm over the next couple days and the mountains too. But usually we were happy to come back, sit on the porch and talk or read a book or watch a movie at one point. My dog loved the area and the cabin. He is crate trained and seemed to think of the cabin as one big crate for his "pack". Although I like to mix it up when traveling, I think we may end up staying at the cabin again.

We stopped at Ooltewah while traveling from Knoxville back to Atlanta - had a beer at Hoptown and I asked the taproom person about food options - it was too late for what sounded like a great brunch nearby, but she indicated that Marthie Ann's was a good option. I walked down to the restaurant and looked for something easy to carry back to the beer bar - the Springer Mountain Wings were the perfect snack! The wings were delicately fried and had an awesome rub seasoning - served with a side of ranch. 6 were $9.20 but because it was a Sunday they were half-off! Next time I'm trying a blue plate - they looked amazing. I ordered at the bar - at first I think the bartender took me for a vagrant (and granted I'd been drinking beer up in Knoxville the few days before so probably looked a bit sketch) but she warmed up to me once I ordered and paid. Jennifer, Mark, and the rest of the team always take great care of us, even with last minute add-ons. We've had great service every time we've ordered and the sandwiches and salads are always made with the freshest ingredients. The bread is made in house from scratch not from frozen dough and you can definitely tell. Their break is wonderful. The Manhattan Roast beef, Turkey Cranpeno, and Strawberry Grilled Chicken sandwiches are among the favorites in our office, and you should definitely try the frog eye salad, pasta salad, or potato salad with your order. The salads are great too! The pear and goat cheese salad with vidalia onion dressing is my favorite. Our customers and corporate visitors have really enjoyed the boxed lunches from Apple Spice and their service goes a long way in helping me provide "Southern Hospitality" to our guests.
