Great selection, priced on par with other meat markets. Love the extras like the stuffed chicken breast and wide variety of sausages. Only negative (not Dons issue) is we live in the opposite side of town so I have to want to make a trip if we need something. read more

We buy chicken and ground beef there every week. Quality is excellent and consistent. Ribeyes and fillets are also superior.

Probably the best butcher shop in the state. Love the New York strip, ribeyes, and tri tip.

We tried Dons products, the steaks were not any better to us than grocery store meats. Particularly disappointed with the sausage, our selection was full of rice filler. Extremely nice, and friendly, clean shop, but the meats were not worth the $ to us. read more

Best meat market we have ever had the opportunity to buy from. The meat is extremely fresh and well kept. It's literally the best meat we've eaten read more

Was told would do deer jerky for me, then when I called back, he said he could not do it, his answer was "JUST BECAUSE". He lies about what he will do for you. No reason to every do business with him again. Kathy read more

Great place for some hard to find cuts of beef, like tri-tip and hanger steak. I was impressed with the ample parking and very knowledgeable service! Very clean and well organized, they even have seafood! I would highly recommend them for your special needs or craving! read more

Located on Hixson Pike in an an assuming building, you can easily drive by every day and not pay much attention to it. But if you keep doing that like I did for months, you're missing out on something wonderful. Pulled in on a whim, something that I tend to do fairly often, I wanted to check out Don's as there always seemed to be people in and out as I went by and it seemed worthy of a stop. A gentleman whom I assume is Don quickly greeted me from behind the counter as I came through the door. Excellent! We did the usual "what can I do for you, I'm just looking around" exchange but he didn't let me get away with that long as he started making suggestions. I told him this was my first visit so wanted to try something. I love ribeye and asked him to pick out his best for me, which he gladly did. As he wrapped it up I looked at the large selections of very good appearing meats, making mental notes of what I'll come back for. Grilled the steak that night with only salt and pepper. Fantastic 14 oz ribeye with perfect marbling and wonderful flavor. Best steak I've had in awhile. Enough said. Heading back soon. read more

What I liked: variety of meats, prices, follow COVID guidelines What I didn't like: quality of meat was poor, most was frozen and the specialty meats were lacking in flavor I bought a few different types of meat (ribeye, summer sausage, filet mignon...) I used the summer sausage with a group of people and no one liked it. The ribeye had poor, flat flavor. The filet was good. Unfortunately, not a place I would recommend for high quality options. read more

So friendly!!! And the filets.... Yum! You could cut them with a butter knife they are so tender! Will not buy steaks anywhere else!

All the meats are high quality and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Haven't tried any seafood yet so I can't speak on that.

This is THE BEST BUTCHER SHOP! Steaks are outstanding cuts, very tender and juicy, best steak I've ever eaten! The beef hot dogs are also the best hot dogs I've ever grilled. Check out Don's. You will not be sorry! read more

Best local butcher! Well worth the drive from Ooltewah for a monthly stock-up. Don and his staff are always giving us the best advice.

The only real butcher shop left in Chattanooga! Old school all the way! Great prices and service!

Best butcher shop/quality meat in Tennessee. We have bought ribs, fish, tri-tip, brisket, chicken fingers, rib eye and broccoli. Have yet to have any bad meat, it is a very clean shop and every one is very humble, professional and polite every time. Good prices for such high quality product. Highly recommend!!! read more

Great little neighborhood butcher shop. Don's always has the best quality meats and comparable prices to the chain grocery stores around. You can also find spices, potatoes and other things to complete your meal. Talk with Don, he's a genius when it comes to cooking meat! read more

Great selection of fresh and frozen here. We loved their kebob's and their twice stuffed potatoes. A must stop for anyone who likes to grill fresh meat. Staff is super friendly!!! read more

My experiences here have all been uncomfortable. All three times, I walked into an empty store with 3 people standing motionless and silent behind the counter. No greeting upon entry. Nobody asked if I need help. They all stared at me while I browsed. They sell basic cuts of beef and pork, sausages with weird open ended casing, and some frozen seafood. Prices are relatively high. Little to no specialty meats. Certainly no lamb. I'll be going to more friendly places. Thank you read more

This place is AWESOME!! Great selection, great prices and great meat. I love the stuffed pork chops and the d beast burgers. I recommend this place to everyone. read more

If you love sausage and spice try Don's smoked andouille links. They are sized like a "half smoke" wiener but straight cut at the ends like a slim jim. Be careful to warm em up without over-cooking as they are nice and lean. A very nice selection of freshly cut beef and pork awaits you in the display case. Cheers! read more

Always the best place for fresh cut meat. Just tried their frozen crab stuffed flounder. What a great option! This is a family run business, you owe it to yourself to support them!! read more

The store has great choices and good quality of meats. But the customer service could be a lot better. We were just in there. The young lady that waited on us acknowledged us. But the owner was there stocking the coolers with another employee. And he Never said a word. Mr. Don we've been in your establishment many times. It's doesn't hurt anyone to at least speak. Thank you anyway. Customer service is everything. Regardless of what kind of day you're having. read more

Regularly Buy the beef cuts and butterfly pork chops. Great quality meats. Excellent. Friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent quality, great selection and friendly and courteous staff. If you can't find it at Don's it isn't available. The bacon sausage is a game changer for biscuits and gravy. read more

Great selection, very good pricing and excellent products! I drove about 30 minutes to get here and will do so again! I enjoyed the beef, chicken and pork I bought here and I am looking forward to trying the Boudin. read more

I buy pork products here, not any of the beef. Perhaps that is their bread and butter? Their pork products have been really bad since the last trip. The trips prior: amazing ribs and loins. I went twice in the last 2 weeks and the ribs had a strange/wild/yucky taste and texture to them. Completely different quality than before, about as bad as a a bad grocery store in terms of quality. Bought a huge 4 pound pork loin, froze it immediately after returning home (I live super close by too). Thawed the loin (still seal wrapped in its original bag of course) in the sink. Opened it up, the meat has a strange rotting odor. Grocery stores sell me better food than this, and are easy to work with regarding returns. I suppose I thought by going to stand-alone butcher I foolishly thought that there would be some kind of honor, trust, quality guarantee. Such a fool to think this place was somehow exceptional. Look, if I open a package of meat and it smells like shit I'm not buying anything from there ever again. Very frustrating. read more

This place is down the road from me. I've stopped in a few times. A bit pricey but the cuts of meats makes it well worth it. Truly outstanding meats! read more

My go to place for the best filet in town. I put their Angus up against anyone's prime beef. The prices are on great. They have a great selection of beef and frozen seafood, and just about what ever else you can think of. read more
