Lahori food from Pakistan will have a different range of spices for new eaters. The dishes I sampled at Shan Grills were not hot spicy, more like aromatic. The kebabs are formed like meatballs at first, the flattened like a pattie, to be braised. Parathas can be stuffed with meats, or lentils, or veggies, and/ or cheeses. Bribed chicken wings, fried with rice flour, your choice 1 of 5 Lahoru sauces. Staff is very warm & welcoming. Order at the counter in the far back of the seating area.

We ordered the mixed meat platter, and it was amazing--fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. This is a family-owned business, and the owner is incredibly kind. He shared that he wants to serve home-cooked meals just like his family enjoys, and it truly feels that way. Everything is made fresh to order--we even saw the owner's wife cutting the meat by hand. My husband tried their chai and loved it, even without sugar. The owner also surprised me with a homemade mango shake, which was so delicious I couldn't stop drinking it! We'll definitely be coming back again and again. They made us feel like we're a part of their family.

Well luckily I've been inside their shiny marble halls enough time to pass my final verdict. For one, it seems like staff turnover is a concern here, as I often see new staff up front who are unfamiliar with their own menu or promotions while the food gives me an idea of what's going in the back. Which is to say, nothing has ever been consistently good here and there's been many occasions of food that's poorly seasoned, undercooked or simply spoiled. I know they have the ability to do better but is it worth the suffering for the opportunity? My answer is NO. For the markedly above average cost and inconsistent leaning poor quality, this isn't the local institution I would personally advise you to support. (Just FYI: I have had their dinner then brunch buffet multiple times, dined in, taken out and separately ordered delivery through a 3rd party app. I really had high hopes!)

I am familiar with Indian food so most of the names are recognizable, but the delicious differences are not to be missed! We ordered the lunch special which was $14.99 for 2 meats (one grilled and one in sauce), rice, a small salad of onions and lettuce, and dessert. I believe they specialize in grilled meats, cause the flavor was fantastic! The picture showed rice pudding for dessert but they came out with gulab jamen instead. I was disappointed at first but dang if that wasn't the best version of this I have ever had. I wanted a vegetable also so for the same price of $14.99 I got palak paneer and naan, which was a more earthy, less milky version as well. Naan was also best in class. I don't always love naan cause it can be rubbery. This was excellent. Soft and pillowy. It was so much food that we took it home and had a whole other meal. What a value for $14.99 each! The space is beautiful and though the clientele seems to be mostly Pakistani, they are welcoming to all. Service was a touch slow, but not painful. We still got in and out during our lunch break. I honestly think they just need more customers and so I want everyone to know that it was a new experience for me and I was super happy with the food. Welcome to the neighborhood Grand Tandoori!

They also have a buffet, but we wanted to order separate dishes. For drinks, we ordered mango lassi. The mango lassi was so fresh and delicious. My son loved it as well. This place is large with plenty of seating. The staff and service are great. Please read further for pros and cons for different foods/drinks we tried: Food: *Nihari* The meat was so tender and the gravy delicious. This went perfectly with their piping hot naan, which was very fluffy and had a great tandoor taste. No complaints here. *Goat Biryani* I did not try this, but it looked incredible *Haleem* The haleem was a little flavorless and a little watery for my liking, but it wasn't bad. *Macaroni & Cheese* I ordered this for my son and it wasn't good at all. It looked like they used a whole box of macaroni and a whole lot of cream and milk, but it didn't taste cheesy at all and was not appetizing. It also came out extremely hot and there was no warning of not touching the bowl, and it wasn't served with anything underneath it. *Chocolate Ice Cream* I also ordered this for my son and he loved it. The ice cream was very creamy and appetizing. Overall, I think the quality of the food here is great. Of course I wouldn't expect this to be an expert on making macaroni and cheese, so it's perfectly fine that that dish wasn't great. The Nihari is absolutely amazing. I am looking forward to coming back here and trying the vegetarian dishes as well as the many other dishes they have.

The only thing holding them back has been consistency. Service has been fine overall, with staff coordinating with each other and making sure things are brought out correctly. An occasional reminder, especially for utensils, water, etc is needed but if you don't like being hovered over, you'll be happy here. As for the food, this is where I find things to fall short of ideal. Their American items are typically quite good with a short wait, but their South Asian/Fusion items can certainly be a hit or miss from night to night. When you're paying almost $20 per plate with add-ons of rice or naan, or possibly even more, you want to be sure the quality stays high. Furthermore, I've noticed that portions have gone down overall which is disappointing in terms of value. From their start to now, it's definitely been an improvement, but it's sad to see certain factors let them down from being one of the best spots around. They are still worth trying though, and their late hours make this a place I would personally recommend trying!

Ample parking Clean interior and for its small space it certainly carries many essential items: Home made flat bread - a must! It's baked on the old stone round ovens. I found rose water used for cooking in savory dishes and even in the sweets I bake. A tip for you ladies, the rose water in Middle Eastern markets are well priced and I use it as a toner for my face. I found some frozen Indian Roti in the frozen section amongst many other international goodies. Also, my favorite Turkish cheese or Lebanese cheese Labneh was priced well. Also got a can of garbanzo beans to make home made hummus. Definitely a must to go here if you are in the area. All the prices were reasonable. Why 4 star and not 5. There was only one cashier open and she was talking to another worker as the lines started to get longer. As for service you will have to look for it and ask questions.
