    Wet burrito, red and green
    Louis E.

My son and I got the lunch special, wet barbacoa burritos. I got half red and half green sauce, my son got all red. Burritos are flavored well and are pretty big, I would just like more chips. Salsa bar is good, there are four different salsas to choose from and the hot has some good heat. Employees are nice. I will come back.

Omg, amazing food and even better amazing customer service!! I was greeted w a smile by a young man Joel, who was so patient with my difficult modified order- was so on top of everything. This experience made my day. It's nice to know there's still a solid work ethic with the younger generation, at least at Chile Verde Mexican food there is! Highly recommend

We use to eat at Chile Verde at least once a week on their Taco Tuesdays when it was $1.49. Now, 2 years later the Taco Tuesdays is now $2.49. However, We did not go for tacos on Tuesday, in fact now the tacos are $3.99 each on a Friday. So,no problem, let's try it again. So 2 years ago the shrimp tacos were amazing! This time, they said with cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle. I was ready to enjoy it like the last time I had it. IT WAS SUPER SPICY. I have ordered this before with no issues, and sadly disappointed that it arrived like it did. So, I told them if they can make it not super spicy and they said it has chipotle sauce which makes it spicy. Perhaps, in other taco joints, their chipotle sauce is smokey mild. If you like it burning hot and to me it was. Perhaps people enjoy this kind of spicyness but I don't. It took them perhaps 5-10 mins to make me a less spicy version. To my dismay, they removed the cabbage and pico de gallo?! Wow! Why on earth would I just eat 5 medium size shrimps in a soft taco shell taco? I shook my head, sadly to eat just the shrimp. I gave them 3 stars because they did fix the issue. However, make sure to order it without chipotle sauce and keep cabbage and pico de gallo. Being super specific with the order. Honestly, If I do come back, I probably would order the beef tacos and chicken. No one seems to understand a good shrimp taco here. If you know of a good place for shrimp tacos, please let me know. Hahaha

We drove by this fast food Mexican restaurant nearly everyday. It's on a busy corner near the freeway entrance, which makes it a good take out place for dinner after commutes. Place seems popular for lunch too. More authentic than fast food chains. Staff and patrons speak Spanish. Near a carniceria. Really has all the underpinnings for a home run. But not quite so we have other places we like better. Burritos have a good scoop of beans - pinto, if that's your thing - but the texture is somehow nearly all beans. Meat or green chile were hard to taste independently. I wished for more acidity and variation in texture. The salsa bar isn't open during Covid so maybe that's where the magic fell short. Salsa now limited in small containers. Ask for extra.

When my kids find a Mexican restaurant they love, they become very very loyal! After driving off the freeway and seeing but ignoring the place for years, Chili Verde has become our weekly go-to Mexican spot! My daughter loves the chicken taquitos with rice and beans. She just loves it plain but loves the flavor and the crunch! My son usually goes with a Carne Asada burrito with no sauce. He is always a happy guy after eating one of those and he eats all of our tortilla chips that come with our orders. I have a few favorites, I love their shrimp burrito and they're crunchy shredded beef taco the most though. Sometimes, especially during this stay at home order, we get their churros for dessert. It is always a special treat and I love that they have the extra sweet center.

Chile Verde is a small chain Restaurant serving up Mexican food, I believe they have 14 locations most of them being in the South Bay area, they have a nice menu selection but I don't think some of the prices matched the food item, like the $4 Tacos. I was a bit surprised to see the regular tacos were $3.99 each at a place like this, not that I would pay $4 for a taco but some reason I wasn't feeling it with this spot, so let's see what I did get. Quesataco de Carne Asada ($4.29) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=WNBvgP22QojtNHRjBbHsxQ To start off they use Diana's tortillas which are probably the better tortillas out of a bag. I wasn't expecting the tortilla being dipped like they do with Birria tacos I thought that was a nice touch. Well add cheese and that's the highlight of this taco, https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=ml1-YxNMiLDoHQepyFcsCw the Carne Asada was grilled on a flat top and had ZERO seasoning, NO flavor to this meat itself https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=One-O7GxQEqJjQOznicffA if you're not grilling Al Carbon you gotta season the meat! It would have been a good Quesadilla, but a good taco it's not. 2-Stars Chimichanga de Carnitas ($10.49) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=-jWkXQXzfKXNHoMfHWjMpg Carnitas, Rice, Beans & Cheese, why did I get the gabacho special? Well, I've never had one and who doesn't love deep fried......... https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=8FGgsUmFmICJM-BBVPmXYg my fault I failed to tell them no rice, unfortunately bite after bite all I was getting was Rice and Beans with some cheese, I dissected half of the burrito https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=hKNhKPd8BiQXpZde1zEQZA and there was little carnitas, sorry this is just a rip off! 2-Stars Salsa Roja y Verde https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chile-verde-redondo-beach?select=3s1rplKfSFH8K1tYtu5pyg at least they had good salsa.

I love this place, It's right by my father's in Manhattan Beach. I'm just gonna say the chicken tacos are Bomb. I get a 2 taco plate, beans n rice of course, plus a 3rd Ala Carte taco and of course a Modelo Negro. $25. Egg $20 would be better but I'm sold on those chicken taco, with a fried shell. It's probably my 10th time. You come to the register and order, then, (if asked) they give you a small tray w/ chips. The salsa a jalapeño s are right behind you. To go or sit down. . They then deliver your food if you're eating there. It's usually no more than 5 minutes you're waiting. The place is super clean. Someone is always cleaning the tables and sweeping up everything off the floor.. did I mention I love this place

Usually when a Mexican restaurant had amazing salsa, the same vibe carries through with the entrees , but unfortunately it wasn't my experience. This isn't your…read moretraditional taco stand - it's definitely a more modern, hipster take on Texas-style breakfast tacos. But they execute it pretty well. One of my favorite morning routines is grabbing a coffee from Blue Bottle next door, then settling in at HomeState with my two favorite breakfast tacos: the Guadalupe and Don't Mess with Texas. Guadalupe - 4/5. I always order this on a corn tortilla. It comes with eggs, chorizo, and cheese, and the ingredients are decent. The portion is generous, with plenty of fluffy eggs that are cooked just right - not overdone or runny. The cheese melts nicely into the eggs, creating a good texture. The chorizo is decent, though it's the weakest component of an otherwise excellent taco. Also, I realized that the portion of chorizo has shrunk over the years. Don't Mess with Texas - 4/5. I'm generally not a fan of refried pinto beans, but this taco completely won me over. The combination of beans, bacon, potatoes, and cheese works surprisingly well, especially with the salsa verde. The flavors come together beautifully, making this one of the more satisfying breakfast tacos on the menu. I've tried a few of their other breakfast tacos, and they're all good. Still, I always find myself coming back to these two. HomeState offers two house salsas roja and verde, both with a brighter, more acidic profile than what you'd typically find at a taco shop. Usually that would be a bit problematic for regular tacos, but that acidity pairs well with the rich breakfast tacos. My only complaint is that I wish they packed more heat. Hot sauces are available, but I'd rather the house salsas bring the spice on their own. Even so, they're flavorful and complement the tacos well. Overall, I like my Blue Bottle coffee + 2 breakfast tacos combination, and will continue eating here.
