I tried this place out this afternoon, after seeing many of my friends post pictures of their Mangonadas and corn in a cups on Facebook, Instagram and snapchat. I previously had one other mangonada and corn in a cup experience at another place a couple days before coming here, and it left me in disappointment. I definitely have to say that the corn in a cup is a lot better here. You get to add every spicy, sour, bitter ingredient you want! They have hot sauces and spices and seasoning right there on the counter after you are served with your cup. My friends have tried the other types of specialty drinks here and mentioned that it was pretty good and tasted like it was freshly made. I will definitely be trying the other drinks as well. The customer service is good! She knows english!!! Thank You Lord Jesus. The place is a hole in the wall establishment, but i guess it's very popular with the local Hispanic community in the vicinity. Whenever i get a craving for Mexican treats, this place will be my go-to. Overall, I definitely can see the hype with this place. P.S.- It's CASH ONLY!!! .... so, Cashhh me outside. Very yummy mangonadas & agua frescas but just like another review said customer service is literally horrible! No one speaks English or pretends they don't & don't be a non Hispanic , you will be looked at like an outsider in the country you were born in !!!!! Drinks are also a little overpriced, overall : meh. You satisfy your craving but leave pretty disappointed that you gave your money to a business who doesn't appreciate your patronage meh. read more

Excellent Mexican botanas and golosinas (snacks)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owners are an awesome Monterrey couple. They have a great variety of snacks such as corn in a cup, nachos, COCHITAS, ice cream, chamoyadas (strawberry, mango, etc), fruit with chile, raspas, etc, etc, etc. Reminds me of the corner snack shops in Mexico. Was so excited to have found this place by where I live. I'm always down for some fruit or yummy aguas. Well I bought the fresas con crema and it was frozen solid on the bottom. Wasn't fresh like I would have liked. And I couldn't believe it was 5 bucks!! My husband bought some mango drink with tamarindo candy in it. He loved it. Probably won't be getting the same thing IF I go back. I think that's a little pricey for what I got. read more

Chile and Lime on West Bellfort! although the snacks were not bad the owner was horrible and very rude. we had pretty simple questions like what all did he sell and he had an attitude as if he was annoyed because we didn't already know. after getting our stuff we sat down to enjoy our food and snow cones my sister in law got up like 2 times to put less than a spoon full of chile powder on her snow cone because she wanted to see how they tasted because she had never had different kinds when she got up the third time the tray was gone. the owner hid the tray, which was extremely rude of him. when she asked were it was he gave her an attitude and said she needed to pay for it. which to a certain extent we understand. all in total she only had a spoon full of chile powder and he charged 50 cents which in every place we have ever been it's always free or they at least give you more than a spoon full! on top of that he laughed because she asked what he said because she doesn't speak spanish, which was also very rude. all of that could have been avoided by simply telling us that it was extra charge. we have no problem with that. a little curtesy can go a long way. we will never go back and we recommend you don't either! it was a terrible experience, never again! read more

My husband, my little girl, and I visited this place today on a mission to find a place that makes Corn in a Cup as good as Mr. Corn in my hometown of Laredo, Tx. This is definitely a snack shop, they offer Frito pie, nachos, fruit cups with chile and lime, paletas, ice cream, and various concoctions with chamoy. The large corn is 3.75, the small is 2.75. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and we were overall pleased with the food. Our 4 yr. old ate every bit of her Frito pie (it was her first Frito pie ever). I'm guessing she is hooked now! My husband said he thought the corn was spot on just as good as the corn we're used to. I have to agree that everything was right about it too, but felt like something may have been lacking. That thing however may just have been that it didn't come from Laredo. I'm going to keep looking, but this just may be the place for us in Houston. read more

This place hits the spot for those mexican cravings I get from time to time. The place itself is nice, staff is ok, and food is good. I don't like that there is only a few tables and chairs (never find a seat). Worst part is it's cash only! But overall it's not bad and the food is delish! the mangonadas and fruitis are pretty good including one that has lucas candy in it and one that has mango,shaved coconut and vanilla ice cream i forgot the name of them cause i haven't been there for a while but by far its delicious fruit is fresh and they make they're own syrups for the raspas ones that are passion fruit, tamarindo, mango and they have another but i forgot the name of the fruit but is good the only problems are that it does get packed, there is long lines mostly on the weekends, but also the employees that work there the two females are pretty slow and always have some kind of attitude but the owner of the place is really nice, funny and fun to have conversations with and he goes to help sometimes in the weekend but everything else is good and i do recommend this place for any one who wants a good mangonada or just to some corn in a cup or even ice cream too. P.s its pretty small so its really not good for a big group to just chill but everything else is pretty darn good so i have no complains bout it. read more

Chile & Lime on West Bellfort! I will never go back to this place! We came to this place once before and it was past 9 and the guy was cleaning and he told us no it was closed, which is fine, we left. We came back today and he remembered us and made a smart remark about the time he closes. Then he was rude because I didn't speak Spanish and he had different chiles on the counter so I thought it was no big deal to taste a few on my raspa, mind you I said taste, as in a pinch of 2 kinds. I went back to the counter to get a pinch of the 3rd kind and it was gone, he moved the chiles from the counter, so I thought oh okay he is filling them up. He was helping a customer and I waited till he finished then he looked at me and said what do you want, I said can I some more chile and his response was how many times have you already came up here, and I raised 3 fingers and said this is my 3rd time, and he said well its not for the raspas, I said okay I will pay for it if its a problem and he gave me attitude and said no its not free you need to pay, so how many times did you come up here. I was furious about his rude attitude and the audacity of him to hide his chile tray instead of kindly telling me that it would cost extra for it. OR DAMN at LEAST PUT A SIGN instead of being RUDE! I will def never ever go back there, first impression was a bad and lasting impression. He will never ever get my business again! SO be aware! Rating of the food: Raspa-Ice was extremely hard and big chunks. I don't know about you but I like soft ice and small pieces. Corn-Was good and he actually lets you pour your own chile on it. SURPRISING I KNOW. lol Magonada-Was pretty good but def had better and will travel the little extra miles for good service and better food. GOOD LUCK! read more
