Walking in the front gate…read moreyou see the beautiful mountains in the background and happy children giggling and working together in the foreground. Normally with this many children in one area there is usually bound to be someone screaming, someone crying, and general chaos. That is the furthest thing from the serene scenes playing out here day after day. When my son first started Mis Manos he had difficulty with the transition and would cry quite a bit when I dropped him off and later in the day when other mommies and daddies came and he was still at school. During those first few weeks what impressed me the most was the fact that even if he was crying (and it was very little) he was always being held or comforted by a teacher. He was never left in a corner anywhere during his difficult transition. As a first time mom this was incredibly reassuring. Now my son has been attending this school for nearly four months he loves it there. In fact we bumped his schedule up to 5 days a week because he would ask to see his teachers and his friends. He has improved in his listening and communicating so much and is always happy and tired when he comes home. I always ask him how his day was, and he beams and says "Good!" usually followed by some babbling about what he did (2 year olds aren't always the easiest to understand) and a very exuberant "Alba!" (his teacher). We pack his lunch and water bottle each day and he brings them right into his classroom. He's also learned that whenever he goes outside he should ask for his hat and sunscreen which is an added bonus! I do also want to point out that their toddler class, which my son is in, does not require them to be potty trained and begins at 18months. There is a waiting list and for good reason, this is an amazing school! I also hear they are cloth-diaper friendly, we asked but haven't gotten our stuff together to bring to them so we've been using disposables. I recommend this school to anyone and everyone I meet!

In her Mis Manos classroom, my daughter was surrounded by adults with decades of experience and a thorough knowledge of child development. They created a beautiful learning environment for the children and organized a structured schedule filled with a variety of learning activities and opportunities for growth. The Montessori philosophy was especially beneficial to my daughter's language, literacy, math, and fine motor skills. The campus is lovingly curated and located in a beautiful desert landscape. Miss Manos Montessori is a treasure among Tucson early childhood programs. -Emilie Pechuzal, M.A., M.Ed. Early Childhood Professional since 2002 Associate Faculty, Prescott College

We love Montessori Learning School! Our son has been attending the toddler program for one year now…read moreand we've had such a positive experience. The program director and teachers have really gone above and beyond to help support our son's development. We were especially appreciative of their support during potty training and learning to use gentle hands with peers. I have loved the emphasis on building independence and our son does a great job with putting on clothes/shoes, mealtime routines, cleaning up messes, etc. The students have "jobs" they select and complete, and these tasks have helped our son with his focus, problem solving, and fine skills (just to name a few). Our family also loves that the toddler program is Spanish immersion. Our son is currently 2.5 and is talking more and has such positive things to say about his teachers, classmates, and experiences at school. His favorite is when Mr. Bruce (a music teacher) comes to visit. We toured quite a few programs in the area and really appreciated how intentional MLS is. We highly recommend MLS

Every time I walk in and out ALL the teachers are greeting me and wishing a good evening/day when I'm headed out the door. I like the fact its Christian based. Our baby is no longer married to a bouncer. I don't have this second guess feeling when I leave our double rainbow boy. The other place, I would check the camera and my heart always dropped, he seemed sad just sitting in his bouncer every time. I would usually rush or postpone things at work and go get him. Now I'm more productive at work because I'm feeling confident in his care. I pick up on very subtle things. Today I was told our baby is always happy and will start to whine only when he's getting hungry or needs a change but he never cries. This tells me they're on top of his care as we are at home. They're learning his individual cues. He's always engaged when I walked in. Super blessed to find this place and feel this way. Keep it up! It's appreciated what yall do and thank you so much! This goes to ALL the teachers. The vibe is awesome.

I could not recommend this before/after school program any higher. At the Mesa Verde PAL Miss Tammy offers excellent science experiments all year round and we could not adore her more! My child is excited about the projects they do and the fun games they get to play. It is much more than just a place to go. The teachers who work here are committed and caring. It makes me happy to know my child has a safe and wonderful place to go to while his parents finish up work for the day. Pro-tip: for those considering STEMazzzing camp for your child, be sure to register for classes as soon as you can! The LEGO, Sharks, and Minecraft classes go quickly. They also offer Physical Education during camp including things like Crossfit for Kids, Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer.

The lady I talked to said they might not have space, asked whether I required financial aid and then "magically" found space. Roll with me for a moment. When we showed up, I asked the teacher how full they were and she said they had 8 slots left to fill. I cannot overstate how irritating it is to be profiled and have someone assume you require financial aid; but probably more importantly, though I'm reserving final judgment for drop-off tomorrow, this screening will result in little to no diversity in the classroom. I did not see any when we were there. If this matters to you as it does to me, know that I've not had bad experiences with the site director, the teachers, or even the CEP corporate employees. It's just a nasty feeling that something is not right. Though I cannot fault our interactions, I wonder would they be so compassionate to someone working in the (upper middle class) area who required financial aid to enroll their child... I'm just not so sure how I feel about this and I wanted to pen this review honestly immediately after the fact. I hope that was not their intent, and I will update the review later if anything changes about my perceptions but I think this is something to be considered. My older two were in elementary and used CEP for after-care and the experience was phenomenal. I haven't had a bad thing to say about the program or how it is run, but this really rubbed me the wrong way.

Reasons we love Kindercare: - The facility is in great shape, it's always clean, and everything feels very safe. Toys are always sanitized, which is great when little ones chew on everything! - They've always done a great job with feeding, starting out with bottles and helping him transition to "big kid food" and sippy cups. They serve a good variety of food with plenty of fruits and veggies, and I'm jealous of what he gets to eat-- especially on French toast day when the whole daycare smells amazing! - The teachers obviously love what they do and love the kids to pieces. My son is all smiles when he sees his teacher! - There are plenty of rules for health and safety, how to handle sick kids, and the like. His teachers have called right away when he's been sick, and they keep us very up-to-date about more minor things like diaper rash and teething. - Everything is documented, which is a huge help to this data geek. Every day I get a sheet that tells me how he ate, napped, and diapered, and I'm glad that everything's on the up-and-up. While I was worried about leaving my first kid at daycare when I first ended maternity leave, I haven't had a single worry about him being here. He's happy and safe, and that makes me happy!

They would show me papers he'd torn up and pictures of his messy desk and then pull out 5 page long papers he'd written brilliantly and tell me, "He's clearly capable, but just doesn't care." Other schools would tell me how he's so kind to the other students, especially those getting bullied, and then he'd come home in tears because of how he saw others being treated - by teachers and students alike - and I could feel how isolated he felt. Now he runs a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with 4 other students on the weekends and their laughter fills our home. Now he's a peer mentor and helps resolve disputes, at a student level, when they arise. Now his teachers tell me how amazing and intuitive his questions are, how funny he can be, and how dedicated he is when he finds a topic that really interests him. My son comes home now and tells me about his day. My daughter wantsto go to school and pretends notto be sick sometimes, in the hopes I won't keep her home. I feel like Kino is all the best of what homeschooling is, but with teachers better than I could be at this point in my life. I don't feel as though I'm failing every morning when I drop them off at the front door. I feel, instead, that even when we can't do family dinners or I'm so busy with other obligations I barely see them for several days in a row - I feel like, it's okay because I'm doing something right. Arguably the biggest thing I can do right for them at this age.
