superb service when it comes to servicing kids, Dr. Elissa performed a filing on my 3 year old daughter with such general care. The dental assistant was excellent as well. They allowed her to watch a cartoon while receiving laughing gas. The dental assistant allowed her to touch each and every tool they used for her procedure. Both talked to my daughter throughout the entire process. I certainly recommend Children Dental World for any child. Staff should inform NEW PATIENTS that if you are even 10 MINUTES late that the appointment will be cancelled and you will be asked to go home. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. DAMIRA - office manager, spoke to her and sounded (at first RUDE/defending her office/employees) and than later on in the conversation got calm and she did apologize for this - her reason 'maybe we have new staff and they did not know the rules/procedure'. Ive been coming her since 1999 with my 3 girls . Two are adults and see adult dentist in same office. I enjoy bringing my 9 year old here she has been coming since age 5. They explain process and also to child to calm nerves and will not doing anything until the child is comfortable . The staff is great. Do not bring your kids here. Despite my child being diligent brushing her teeth twice a day, flossing most days of the week, and seeing her dentist twice a year; this place missed a cavity my child probably had for two years. Ended up with her having her tooth decay through and had a chunk missing with me noticing before they acknowledged that it was bad. My kid ended up with the tooth (molar) pulled. I went to a different dentist afterwards who said this probably would have been caught a long time ago had they actually did a thorough exam. On top of that in my child had severe sleep apnea... her apnea hypopnea index was 25 (above ten is considered severe). I brought that up to the dentist and he looked at me blankly as if he had no idea what I was talking about. He proceeded to administer anesthesia (nitrous) without any standard monitors on. No pulse ox to monitor my child's saturation status. This is not the standard of care for anybody administering anesthesia and they should know this. This is how kids die in the hands of dentists--- this happened fairly recently in Oakland California. Additionally the person assisting unnecessarily kept the nitrous on while the dentist had to tend to other matters in the middle of the treatment and stepped out. This is NOT ok. I watched my child like a hawk to make sure she was actually breathing. The dentist and staff appeared to care less. Shame on them. Be warned! Don't let your child be the next fatality/ death because they decide to cut corners. Shame on you guys! I hope whatever licensing board they have look into this place because how they practice is very reckless, negligent, and they put their patients in danger for not knowing what the fuck they are doing. Do yourself a favor and just go elsewhere before you find out your child die in the dental chair in this office. read more

I am iffy about Children's Dental World. We had a a couple of great appointments for our kids both with Dr. Sam and Dr. Nina (who I am not sure if she still works there - hope so). The hygienists, X-ray techs, and dentists were all kind, knowledgeable and worked well with children. We then had an appt. with Dr. Allison who was awful. She was rude to me and mean to young kids. And my kids really are pretty cooperative. It was the worst doctor's appt. either of my children have had, and I was angry at myself for not speaking up to her sooner and telling her that she was acting out of line. My other issue with the practice is that it is sometimes just very overcrowded with patients. read more

We are going to look for another dentist. Every time we come, there are the same forms to complete, even though nothing has changed. When I asked why and was told to speak to a 'manager', the receptionist all of the sudden had all the answers, when her boss was there, but could not answer my questions without her support. My children do not walk away feeling good about going to the dentist, and one time, a hygienist tried to tell us how to wiggle a loose tooth. I am not sure if the clientele are not educated, so they have had to explain this to clients before, but I am not impressed and can find much better service and much kinder people to work with. We have also not been allowed to book our services 6 months in advance because they claimed they were all booked, and they never followed up to my requests for a waitlist. read more

I've been coming here for a couple of years now never have I had a bad experience every one is totally Nice and they are super friendly with the kids. Up until yesterday my 5 year old went in for a filling and came out with the worst cut on her lip ever. I couldn't make in on time for her so her grandma took her for me was never offered to go in with my daughter. But came out ok ! tell I got home and looked at the work they did . Called Friday to complain and they simply stated she could have bit her lip ! Because it was numb ! Wrong a bite mark would be horizontal not vertical! Two the wound was very deep. Now mind u I was just there on Tuesday that same week with another filling no problems . I was livid at the fact no adult went in with her . The manager simply stated that we strongly encourage parent separation but parents may come back if they want. Well in this day and age they can get in to some serious legal issues . Any number of things could go wrong with out an adult present for a minor . Especially under the age of 5 years old. Now I will not discourage anyone from coming to this dentist as I've never had an awful experience before. This by far was a complete disappointment. Dr. Parks has been my daughters dentist for at least 5 years. My oldest daughter who is now a teenager needs some cosmetic work so while visiting another cosmetic dentist I decided to get my youngest daughter's teeth cleaned. My youngest daughter Mariah had a fit, and cried her heart out in the back seat of our car. She has developed a good relationship with Dr. Park and his assistants and she actually looks forward to going to the dentist. They make her feel like a big girl, and make the whole experience enjoyable and educational. My family is bicultural and bilingual. Our son recently turned one and his teeth are growing. After reading the reviews from Yelp and viewing the office's website, we decided to have our son visit Dr. Sam Park. The office staff was very friendly. Since my wife speaks limited English, the receptionist quickly spoke to her in her native language. We felt at ease with the dental hygienists (Dalis and Angela ) Even though our son cried most of the time, they had the patience of the biblical character Job. During the cleaning , our son was able to watch Frozen and later he played with the toys. He was having so much fun that it made me want to have my teeth cleaned! I've been bringing my kids here for several years. The dentists are well-trained, knowledgeable, and have great chair-side manner. They know how to make the children feel at ease without the parents being in the room. There is a DVD player at each station with a variety of DVDs for the little ones. It's set up like a community setting with 4 or 5 chairs in one big room so kids are seen by different dentists at the same time. I'm sure that eases little ones' fears as well. After the visit, they bring the parents back to explain the findings and address any issues or concerns. The facility is clean and has up-to-date equipment. The front staff are friendly as well. It's definitely a place where you can trust you are getting the best service. They also know what they don't know and are able to refer out when necessary. Went in there on an emergency visit. My 6 year old child was having cavity pain. They didnt let me in the room with her nor did they tell me they would put a crown. I waited in the waiting area for 35min or more... and when they brought her out... they did a whole different tooth !! And just said sorry. Had to come again 2 days later... so that yet again... they can attempt to do a tooth that had nothing to do with the appt. I gave them a 2nd chance. Will NOT be back. And this place was recommended by a fam member. They probably cramp up as many patients as they can in a day. Because there was nothing personal about it. Beyond unprofessional. Save your children from malpractice. These people lack professionalism, communication skills, team work, customer service and clarity! ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS because they wont ! .... even a dad who took his son in had to clarify why his son was there.... receptionist had a whole diff plan in her hand. Even the dad was like " wait, so u are going to leave my son toothless?, x tooth was already taken care of"...... man that should have been my red flag... but it was my first visit... definitely calling a manager. We had a pretty good experience last year. But this year, we were totally let down. We booked long time ago and got a text message confirming 14:00 appointment, we arrived few minutes earlier. But the receptionist told us the appointment should be 13:45. I showed them the text but they seemed to care less. They told me they could still wash the teeth for my daughter, but the only way to do it is to have X-ray taken. We refused but was told if not, they won't clean the teeth for her. We live in the suburbs so we see Dr. Sam Park at his office in Des Plaines. My kids (ages 4 and 6) LOVE going to the dentist. Can you believe it? Dr. Park and his staff are so friendly and easy-going. As soon as the kids go into the exam room, they pick out a DVD to watch. After the cleaning's done, they each get a balloon and a goody bag. It's like party! The philosophy is that if a kid is traumatized from a dental visit, that could potentially cause him to have a dentist-aversion into adulthood (there are some like that!). The first time my younger one went to see Dr. Park, he refused to sit in the chair. Dr. Park said that it would just be a "fun visit" for him to get used to the office and didn't force my son to open his mouth. Dr. was able to get in there and take a quick peek at the teeth. By the next visit, this same child was totally willing to get into the chair. I'm happy with Dr. Park because he's very knowledgeable about kids' teeth and their development, which have different issues than adult teeth. Update: Dr. Park has moved his suburb office to Morton Grove. We had to stop in today for one of my boys to get x-rays done (playground accident warranted it). The new office is great. Cheery decor in an open space. My son particularly liked the TV that was attached to the exam room ceiling, just over the exam chair. read more

Just got back from this place and doubt I'll return with my daughter. It's more of a dental Factory than anything else. They bombard you with endless papers and requests for signatures. They have a very coercive sales process where you get bumped room by room and end up with a closer who tries to book you in for surgery despite not even agreeing to that with the doctor. I took my daughter to this clinic for a regular check-up, and they told me my daughter's teeth needs to be treated, and they showed me how much I need to pay from my pocket in their treatment plan (my copay was $120). I paid in full when the treatment was done and I thought that's it. A week later, another bill came saying I need to pay another $80 because some parts of the treatment were not covered by my insurance. I called to ask them why they didn't told me before the treatment, the manager told me it was my responsibility to check my insurance policy to find out the exact total copay, they are not responsible for any cost changes, that is soooooo ridiculous!!!!! When I arrived at Children's Dental World, I was immediately attended by 2 friendly receptionists. Our dentist sat down with us for 15 minutes to discuss the work, methods and procedures that my 5 year old would go through. To my surprise, she actually had ONLY 3 cavities that needed work. We have been patients of Dr. Sam Park for 13 years. We go every 6 months for preventative care and because of this, trying to eat right as well as decent dental hygiene, our 4 kids don't have any issues with the health of their teeth. One week ago I brought my 17 yr old daughter to a dentist in the West Loop (nearly 300 reviews,majority 4-5 stars) who does invisalign and had a consultation. She's got slightly crooked teeth. He took x-rays and called me in. He said m,"your daughter has 2 really big and old cavities which have been neglected". I contacted Dr. Sam and he personally made time to see my daughter to investigate further. He took x-rays and consulted with 3 other dentists. He and his colleagues (all Northwestern Dental School grads) couldn't find anything but her wisdom teeth coming in. Dr. Sam could have ignored this concern since he just saw her and did a complete set of x-rays in 9/2020 which did not show any cavities or concerns whatsoever but he took the time to care for her. He was not defensive whatsoever but humbly and thoroughly re-examined her not finding anything wrong. He has 2 very busy practices and could have rested on his laurels but he listened to his patient's mom and genuinely cares for his patients with the highest quality of care. I'm a brutally honest person and tick people off for that so I hope you will consider my review as such as you consider where to have your children's dental needs met. read more

I am extremely happy with this place. My son's first ever dentist appointment was with them and from start to finish they impressed me. Our dentist was so friendly, impeccably patient, and so nice. My husband first brought our then-18 month old in after an accident that shoved his baby teeth back up into the gums (all was well, and his teeth are now in perfect condition). I've brought him in twice since then for regular check ups. They don't rush the kids, and take the time to make them comfortable and explain what they're going to do next--a big help with my skittish 3 year old. The "pick your own movie" and screens above the dental chairs and after-appointment prizes are a nice touch, too. Equally as impressive was the quick follow up from staff after his appointment.
