This office is terrible. We saw Dr. Powell and she was ok and kind but that's the only good thing I can say. You have to pay for parking, it's 4 dollars. Consider this an extra copay to get your kid medical care. Appointments are always late because they never have the rooms ready. In fact once when I was waiting there with my baby they said the doctor was ready but the room wasn't?! What?! DO NOT COME HERE WITH YOUR NEWBORN. Would you like to practice breastfeeding your child in front of twenty strangers while they scream for twenty minutes? Adding to the fact the office is packed and not Covid safe (scary with a baby who can't get all his shots). Another negative experience is when my baby was five days old I asked if I could breastfeed him so he could experience less pain during his shots. Somehow this was like a big ask?! This is an evidence based way to reduce pain during vaccines. For whatever reason someone asked the office manager who was worried about liability if the baby aspirated breastmilk during the shot?! Why are we asking medical advice from the office manager and what evidence is there for such a claim? It shows the doctors are constrained in their practice and it's really not ok. The doctor wanted me to be allowed to do this and it was strange that she wasn't allowed to ok it. Front desk people are robots and young. They will not ever get your insurance correct and make it seem like a you problem (spoiler alert: it's them. But you won't find out till you've been talking to them for twenty plus mins). Any time I've talked to them on the phone they are unhelpful and tell you things that are not accurate. The regents office is much better at getting parents back with tiny babies. You don't deserve to treat yourself and your baby this way just to keep them healthy. You deserve a doctor that can respect your time and effort it took to get there! read more

We saw the NP for thearpy and she was absolutely amazing and our nurse was so good with my daughter. I have been following Dr. Hansen for years now. My oldest is 31 years old. My youngest is 14 years old. We love him! Very kind and thorough. Since they moved to this office, I have seen a lot of turn over of staff. The only problem I see is that EVERYTIME I come here, they are talking amongst each other and NOT acknowledging the person waiting to be helped. Today I stood in front of the person who had her back facing me talking about personal stuff to her fellow Co workers. The other coworkers didn't even acknowledge me or tell her that I was there. I had to say "hi.. can you check me in now?" Then she told me to sign in which I did 3 to 5 minutes before I had to get her attention. Then she had to gall to say she knew I was there. ??? What??!!! This must be the normal working environment for them. To me, NOT ACCEPTABLE. When working with the public, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT IS KEY! Me & my son loveeeeeee Dr. Madany. He's my son's PCP. My sister referred him to me & I'm glad she did! He's my son & nephew's PCP. We all want what's best for our child. & Dr. Madany is the kindest, sweetest, personable, baby-friendliest doctor I have ever met! I feel super comfortable w/ him & he ACTUALLY cares. We have been seen w/ other doctors including Dr. Tsang & Dr. Zaguli at this same location. They were ok. But preferably we only like to see Dr. Madany when we get the chance. The reasons why we go w/ other doctors is due to me not booking ahead of time or in the case of emergencies. Dr. Madany explains things wonderfully & not just feeling like I'm being scolded or as if we are just patients. He's usually booked months out so you have to book a few months ahead. That is how you know he is the best! When doing exams, he plays w/ my son to make things easier on all three parties. Himself, me as a parent, & most importantly my son. He's usually quick & responsive on the MyChart app when I have any questions or request a video visit. He's usually able to get us in asap for emergency visits, unless it collides w/ MY work schedule. That's my fault. We usually get called in quickly for our appts & in & out within 30mins. Dr. Madany has set the bar high & goes above & beyond my expectations. My son will not be going elsewhere. Thank you for your being such a caring doctor, Dr. Madany!! if you want to feel rushed, disrespected, and made to feel like your time is not valuable then this is the place for you. i was told to be present at 2:55 for a 3:10 appt however, my son wasn't seen until 1 HOUR past our appt time only to be told no need for a referral but to make a follow up appt for 1 week all within a 10min conversation. this all stemmed from an ER visit earlier this week just to get a dermatology referral, but because we're considered "new" to this location we had to be seen to get a referral in. since we were already there and waited past our appt time i asked if an allergy form could be signed off for school, but because my son is overdue for a well visit, we need to make a separate appt for a signature! thankfully follow ups can be virtual so that helped but the latest is at 4:30pm. our family transferred from the chula vista location to childrens campus so i tried to make an appt for all 3 of my kids but apparently here only 2 can be seen in one day so i'd have to make ANOTHER appt. i made the proper accommodations and followed protocol to be seen today, waited over an hour for a 10min face to face appt without any apologies, and yet my family can not have the same courtesy of appt accommodations? time management seems to be a issue here and pt time is not valued at all. highly disappointed is an understatement. read more

Be careful and double check how this business codes your insurance claims. We scheduled an appointment for my daughter's one year check up which we had to cancel because our family came down with Covid. We rescheduled the one year check up for a month later, to avoid spreading Covid, which we felt was the right and moral thing do to. A few months later we received a bill for this visit, which was stated to be a covid consultation instead of the one year check up that is 100% covered by insurance.... We never asked a Covid check up as our daughter had minimal symptoms a month prior and only came for the routine check up. My children have been seen at this office for years, primarily by Dr. Powell. This location is clean and staff are friendly, professional, and helpful on all levels. Dr. Powell in particular is an incredible doctor. She truly cares, she pays attention to details, listens, and is very thorough. She does an exceptional job with both of my kids-even my little combative child who protests exams every time. 1st of all I would like to state that many of the reviewers were commenting about different locations/offices other than the one listed for the review. This is for the Suite #112 location not the #300 or any other location. I know this because of many of the Dr's names listed do not work at this location and never have. My family has been going to this office for almost 10 yrs now. We see Dr. Hansen who is absolutely wonderful. He is kind and very willing to explain any questions you may have. He never makes you feel as if you are just another patient he needs to get through. He's very willing to send you to a specialist if he deems it necessary or if you ask for one. He doesn't have an over-inflated ego which seems to be rampant with many pediatricians these days. There is a waiting time. I'm not going and try to pretend that there isn't. What most people need to realize is that most GREAT Dr's do have a wait time because they are in such high demand. As for Dr Hansen, he's worth the wait. There are two rooms for your children to wait to the Dr in. One for sick children and one for well children who are there for routine visits/physicals. I haven't had a problem with too many parents bringing sick children into the well child room. That is not the fault of the Dr's office. That responsibility should rely solely on the backs of the parents who knowingly make a well child visit for their sick child trying to get seen sooner. They have recently remodeled the waiting rooms giving patients a lot more room to sit while waiting and almost always have a child appropriate video playing on the TV above. If it's not turned on yet all you have to do is ask and they'll turn it on. No big deal. My children are completely up to date on all of their shots and records without any problems and have even reminded me when one is coming up soon so that we don't miss it. My oldest son has autism and my preschooler does not so I have seen that he does not give special preference to children for any reason. Every child is treated with the kindness and respect that every parent should expect for the medical provider of their children. I only wish that many of the reviewers had actually bothered to look at the address of this particular location before posting incorrect statements about this particular office. If you can't find the location that you are looking for than create a page for the office that you are upset about. Please don't sully the reputation for a perfectly good office that I would highly recommend to any parent looking for a great pediatrician. read more

Dr Madany and Dr Zaguli are top notch in my book! I left two doctors offices prior to finding this one mainly because I didn't trust the other doctors and their bedside manners were so uncaring. I was a new mom and felt abandoned at other doctors offices (on was CPMG! in El Cajon!) The front office staff could be more warm, caring that's why only 4 stars instead of 5. But the most important part - the Doctors. Dr Madany is a little more calm and gentle. Dr. Zaguli is more spirited and fun - been around a long time and is confident with his diagnoses. He wears fun ties and interacts with the children. Dr. Madany is a patient listener. He too has good interaction with children and parents. I LOVE these Doctors... I hate paying for parking, but I do it b/c the people that my daughter has been seen by have all been excellent at THIS LOCATION in Frost St. From the reception, to the person who calls our name to come in. Nurse or medical assistant, doesn't matter. They have been great! I wish I knew there names so I can specify and give them a shout out. I am pleased with the MyChart system. It is helpful and has been great for me to get in contact with the office after hours. I have had a situation that I needed an ASAP appointment and it was 1am. I emailed them and they called me as soon as they opened their office. I am able to review every thing they input in my daughter charts and who she is seen by etc. (Ex. Rx, instructions) Every time I call their appointment line/ help line. I have encounter one specific person ( ) who I want to give credit to. She is always super sweet and understanding. She was calm and comforting when I ramble/ panic due to my daughter being sick and trying to get an a asap appointment. She was helpful. She did the best she could at what she could help with to get me an appointment on several emergent situations. A few times we encountered a long wait, but I honestly can look pass that. I mean who cares when the Dr./ NP comes in and has great bedside manner. I already come to the conclusion that, the previous patient needed more time and the provider took time to care for that room. When the provider comes into our room, she will do the same with us. Which she has. I went to this office for my child to have a check up. Dr Zaguli insisted that my child receive his flu shot. I am against the flu, for obvious reasons. But he still insisted, even saying that I was weird for not having it administered. Usually a small toy is given after each visit to his office. When my son asked for a toy, Dr. Zaguli snapped. No not for you, because you didn't get the flu shot, you can thank your mom for that. Shocking! And this is a pediatrician? I will be switching Dr's. after this encounter. read more

After switching from a Military clinic I decided to come here and I'm starting to regret this decision. We're new to the clinic and the first appointment went fine. In and out with the script we needed. Fast forward a month. It's time for the refill of my child's ADHD meds. I call the number, press 3 which is the option I need, refills. Option 3 replays the message. It does not get me anywhere. Finally I pound on some keys and get a moody person. She tells me to call the pharmacy. Yeah, that's not how it works. She tells me things changed. Not in a month, it most certainly did not. Clearly states that on another message. I call one number only to be connected to another. I left my name and number two days ago. Never got a call back. The phone system is a joke, I call 279-0100 only to be at the 495-0500 clinic. This review is for Dr. Hansen. I found Dr. Hansen through a referral when my children were both diagnosed with autism and taking speech therapy through Sharp Hospital's award winning and critically renowned early intervention program, and we have spent the last 8 years under his care. In those early days I was paranoid that life would suck, given the grim news, however, Dr. Hansen's affable and reassuring bedside manner, coupled with his patience in answering all our questions as well as being one of the more experienced doctors in his field helped us to cope with and manage the diagnoses. I am going to miss him when my kids turn 18 and they have to find a general practitioner. Dr. Hansen is the best pediatrician I've worked with, and as a medical assistant who has worked with several doctors in my lifetime, I know the good ones from the lousy ones. Having said that, I can't speak for the other providers in the group. One time Dr. Hansen was not available for a sick visit and we dealt with the Nurse Practitioner, who was competent but it wasn't the same. The medical assistants are all friendly, the front staff is nice, but as some people mentioned below the wait times can be really horrible. I always feel the wait is worth it to see Dr. Hansen, and he's in demand so I can understand why sometimes there's a delay (he's not the type to just kick you out the door after 15 minutes if the appointment is going to take longer, he'll make sure that he's taken care of you) and another thing I really like about him is that if the issue is above his head, he's not too ashamed to say that he needs to refer you to a specialist. My kids' prior pediatrician had a huge ego and hubris so thick that he said there wasn't anything in medicine and kids that he couldn't handle. I didn't agree which is why we're with CPCMG. The phone system is terrible as well, as stated below, but if you push the buttons to get to a live person, then I haven't had any problems getting what I needed through that route. read more

Today I went early to our appointment. It took the office over an hour and a half to verify my very standard cobra insurance, which by the way I told them I had a week before visiting the office. Once my insurance was finally verified they sent me away because the Nurse Practitioner said it took them too long to verify my issuance and she could no longer see my kids because of her over-booked schedule. This office's lack of competency has caused my kids not to have their check-ups before school starts. I made my appointment over three months ago, verified my issuance twice before visiting the office, told them my about my issuance a week before visiting the office, showed up early, waited over an hour and a half and never saw a doctor or nurse. They rescheduled me for a different office on a day my child has school and I have to work. I love my Doctor at this office, I interviewed her while I was pregnant with my first child over 7 years ago. I'm sad I won't see her again. I cannot go back to this office because the rest of the staff is so bad. Over the years I have waited hours and hours, while they "improved" their systems. I was so patient. If you have ever waited in a waiting room with three children you will understand the pain and suffering that I endured because I love my kids' doctor. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. Avoid this practice! They almost killed my daughter. She ended up in Children.s Hospital after her care was neglected for several years. Failure to thrive, no growth and when I finally INSISTED on labs being done they never called about her positive results. It was only after I switched doctors that he fumed about the care and lack of over site to monitor lab results. Adding insult to injury is the accounting department for all of the CPCMG practices. They refused to honor the insurance contracted amounts when the insurance company went bust and took my $980.00 per month premium with them. They acknowledege they had a contract with the company but not me so I need to pay full price but out of the kindness of their heart would give me 10% off!! Really! My insurance always paid about $370 for a well check but they charged me $669 and would not bring it down to prior years. Why screw me over twice? Long waits, $3.00 for parking, incompetent support staff, and at least one doctor who missed the boat on my daughter at 3030 Children's way. RUN away as fast as you can. read more

I like our doctor, hate this practice. The cons: -LONG wait times in waiting room, in treatment room, on phone -"Talk to a nurse" line never picks up, just rings and rings -Pay $3 for parking -Dr. Zaguli. He was extremely unprofessional with us, taking a personal call in the middle of our appointment, not treating us courteously in general. -Not a kid-friendly waiting room -Not helpful: they don't write anything down for you and don't give you any information about when your child's next appointment or vaccination should be. They don't always call back when you call. The pros: -Dr. Madani. He is very nice, introduced himself to me (unlike Dr. Zaguli), and he was very sweet with both of my daughters. He can get a little flustered when the office is busy... and it is ALWAYS busy. I don't want to change pediatricians because I really DO like Dr. Madany (and because of the pain of having to transfer records and learn the ins and outs of a new practice) but I'm losing my patience with this place. Have been coming here since 2004 for our two kids. Dr. Juarez is who we schedule their appointments with, and she is very patient with our ASD son, and has great bedside manner. She listens to your concerns and feel very comfortable with her. Dr. Madany, and Dr. Zaguli have both seen our kiddos, and are fantastic doctors as well. If we come with an appt, usually the wait isn't all that horrific, most of the time is reasonable, taking in to account patients that come in because they got sick unexpectedly.. They usually have a movie playing in the waiting area (Nemo last few times). The front office staff could improve their customer service a bit by acknowledging more, but the 5 star review is for the pediatricians themselves. read more

I officially hate this place... We hesitated to take my daughter back here after the past bad experiences we have had but we thought we would give it one last shot. I made her appointment for her immunization shots for 10:15 with the nurse practitioner. Making an appointment with the original doctor we choose had come to be impossible, we had only seen her once out of our 5 visits. So we show up 5 minutes late for our 10:15 appointment to a jam packed full lobby of snot nosed kids (we were on the healthy side!). We waited for about 45 minutes then were called into the room to wait another 20 minutes. My husband and I debated on leaving and letting them keep our copay and possibly bill us even though we hadn't been helped. Right as I was about to walk out the nurse came in to help us. She was in for about 5 minutes for vitals then left us for another 10 minutes. In the end we were there for about 2.5 hours for shots and the nurse practitioner who talked to us like we were 5 and incompetent never got back to us with the answers to some of the questions we had. We came out to an empty office where everyone was on lunch and had to hunt down the answers to our questions and prescription they forgot to give us. Ridiculous... we will not be back! read more

I visit the El Cajon office off of Prescott and Chase, but it really doesn't matter where the office is - I HATE THIS PLACE!!! It is always over-crowded and they NEVER run on time. I understand that you're dealing with young kids and time needs to be flexible, but don't tell me to come to an appointment at 3:00pm and then not call my name until 3:45pm. Visiting the doctor at this office, or should I say nurse practitioner because getting an appointment with your regular physician is nearly impossible, has never taken me less than two hours! I had taken my daughter there since birth and when my son was born, I was forced to take him there as well - against my will. When my insurance finally changed, I went to a different pediatrician for care. I took my daughter to the new physician prior to her starting Kindergarten - one NOT in the Children's network - where her new doctor asked if we were really that far behind on immunizations. She asked me to take my daughter's shot record back to Children's Primary Medical Group to have them update her record before they gave her the necessary shots to start school. I took the record back to CPCMG and they told me that her record was current with what they had on her charts. Here I am thinking what a horrible mother I am for not taking my kid to get shots when she needed them and that she was going to have to get ten shots before starting school! My new doctor was not convinced that my daughter was missing all of these shots, so she requested the medical records from CPCMG. Come to find out, she had actually had all of her shots needed and they failed to document 10 immunizations!!! My poor baby would've gotten unnecessary shots because of those idiots at CPCMG! I was appalled. When my son was born, we discovered he had jaundice at his weight check and I didn't feel that Dr. Friedman explained what jaundice was or what the process was to get rid of it. In fact, when we went to see her for the check, we waited almost an hour before we saw her, and when she saw him, she said "He looks yellow, what do you think?" What do I think? I think you should be telling me why he would be yellow, or how we treat his yellowness! She sent us to the lab for tests and told me she would call me with the results. When she called, her screaming kid in the background made it difficult to hear or understand. I thought it was unprofessional, especially because I was so concerned about my own kid. We take our twins to Regents. It's convenient and there is plenty of parking. They validate but only up to an hour I think - which usually suffices. I'm very happy with this practice. They can always fit a sick child in, calls are returned promptly, the front desk staff is pleasant. I usually don't have to wait long. We see Doctor Roberts. I would recommend him to anyone. I am very disappointed that the office was closed today and I was unaware. I recently brought my daughter in for a physical and there were no signs posted about Memorial Day. I tried calling at 8am today and phone line was busy. My daughter had a fever so I drove to the office, in hopes it would be open and it was not. If I was informed of this by the receptionists, maybe pass out a flyer to every parent !! I would have just taken my daughter to urgent care and not have to wait in the ER. At my daughters appointment I asked how I could get medical records from Virginia , and the receptionist gave me the wrong form. She asked me was I on my chart which had nothing to do with my daughters medical records. Finally a more experienced receptionist stepped in and handed me the correct form. I wish I knew her name so I could give her kudos, but she sits on the side. I was also asked to sign a new privacy form , which I should of signed at my child's first visit, why now? Suite112 My son and I went here this morning after a long night of restless coughing and tossing. I got up to have him seen this morning. The hours for sick call were not posted and so I tried the door it was open, this was around 7:15 am. I walk in say excuse me to three women walking around.The first thing she said was oh you left the door unlocked, to her co worker. I then asked about the hours, she continued to talk to the colleague about the door being left unlocked. Obviously I am standing here in need of assistance as I feel ever more irritated by the second, I walk out into the hallway where she finally tells me the hours and points to the offices second entrance. Ok, I'm irritated at this point. I sit and wait in the hall. 7:28 and the doors closed and they know I am waiting In the hall, (I mean they practically escorted me out,) another parent walks up and straight into the office. They know Im out here they didn't invite me in tell me the door was open, they let me sit in the hallway, ok. Strike 2. I'm exhausted I fill out the check in paper. I mistakenly and purely out of exhaustion used my name in the patients spot. This chick tells me to make sure I put my sons name next time. My reply will do, if there is a next time. Obviously it was a simple correction but the way she said it.....Ughhhh. Keept my cool it's about my son being seen. The doctor, doctor Hansen. He was the sweetest and one of the most caring doctors. I felt instantly relaxed. He took good care of my baby, taking his time to talk to him and explain anything he needed to to me. Love Love Love him. I appreciate his ethic, but his staff........hmm not sure. There was a sweet women in the check out area not sure of her name long straight hair older and heavy set. She gave me the name of a dentist they use in referrals, to her id also say thank you. As far as the first 2 women I met. Smh you should think about a career change. That's just my opinion. Don't even bother trying to call because they will not pick up the phone. All you will ever get is a busy signal. They apparently don't even have voicemail so you can leave them a message that your child is sick. You can not get an appointment unless you place you sick child in the car and drive to their location on either Children's Way or Mira Mesa Blvd just to MAKE the appt. Then you have to go home and come back the next day for your actual appt, which you will have to wait two hours for. I have never heard of any doctor's office that doesn't at least have voicemail. I tried calling no less than 16 times over a three day period to make an appt for some regular school vaccinations and got a busy signal every signal time, no matter what time of day it was. I am switching my children out of this practice! read more
