As a longtime community member and parent at this daycare for over a decade, I want to share my personal experience. When new ownership took over, the transition felt rushed and didn't seem to consider the children's emotional well-being or developmental needs. Communication with families was unclear and inconsistent, leaving many of us feeling misled. One early concern was the food provided. My child often came home hungry, with very small portions served--one lunch was just a few noodles along with other portions that are not adequate to make a lunch filling or nutritious. Other parents and staff shared similar concerns about inadequate and inconsistent meals. It was only after these issues became public that some improvements were made, which felt reactive rather than proactive. There has been significant staff turnover. A beloved teacher/director/and absolute heart and soul of the school, who served for decades was let go abruptly without explanation, and since then, several other teachers have resigned. These children were with her every day while parents worked. She provided stability, love, comfort, and an environment that helped them learn while making it fun. The current leadership rarely seems present in classrooms and doesn't appear connected with families. When concerns are raised, responses can feel dismissive or defensive. Tuition has increased, but some services have been cut back. Weekly field trips are less frequent, and the pre-K curriculum has shifted to being mostly play-based. This change feels like financial priorities are outweighing children's developmental needs. Another difficult situation was the sudden removal of another beloved teacher on a Monday during naptime! There were just weeks left before the end of school and she had been nurturing the children all year and preparing them for kindergarten. The new leadership did this with short notice, over the app, while many of us were at work, panicking. Many of these kids have also been with her since they were babies. This caused confusion and distress among the kids, many of whom struggled to understand why yet another trusted adult was gone without proper closure. I've consulted child psychology professionals, who emphasized that transitions like this must be handled with care and sensitivity. Sadly, that did not happen here. This is my personal account based on what I've witnessed and heard. I hope families feel empowered to ask questions and advocate for their children, who deserve a safe and nurturing environment that respects their emotional, physical, and developmental needs. read more

We've had such a great experience with Children's Campus for both of our children. Our oldest started at about 2 years old. She loved every teacher, in every room she was in. The staff were very supportive when we had some behavioral issues. They worked with us to set up a game plan and really helped turn things around for her. I love that they have an OT come in for evaluations each year if you'd like to have your child receive one. The staff really cares about the children. When our daughter graduated from pre-K, many tears were shed. Ms. Iris has the biggest heart and you can see that in every interaction. I was so happy when the baby room opened, just in time for our second child to start. The baby room has it's own entrance (as does the pre-k) which helps keep it much quieter and darker for the infants when needed. It's very clean and inviting. I wish it had been open for our first! We have loved having our children at children's campus. Our oldest two have since moved on to kindergarten. They were so well-prepared for kindergarten after learning so much in the pre-k program. My kids have loved all of the teachers, especially Ms. Iris who treats them like one of her own. My youngest began in the infant room, and I always felt like he was in such great hands. They helped get him on a sleep schedule and made sure he felt loved. They worked with us through potty training struggles. He's now in the 3yo room, and he's learning so much while having fun. I highly recommend Children's Campus Center! We enrolled our daughter when she was about 9 months old, and we love that all their staff have been there for over 20 years. No turn over in staff which is a great sign, and we were able to meet all the staff and trust them with our daughter. I am writing this review and it's been 5 years that we have continued to use Children's Campus Center for our childcare needs. My daughter is now 5 and will be turning 6 this year, but we appreciate the staff and trust them with our child. They were very informative and let us know if there were issues (runny nose, bloody nose, etc. ). They gave us advice when we needed it. If there were any concerns or issues, they would communicate and let us know about it. Communication is important and very crucial for us. We wanted to know if/when something was wrong, because we needed to listen to the people who care and love our child when we aren't around. Very affordable price, and I recommend them to anyone! I'm deeply troubled by the experience we had at Children's Campus. My son started there when he was two and a half. Things began reasonably well. Miss Patti and the other teachers in his classroom were kind and treated him with care. The director seemed to run things smoothly. It did always seem like the owners were trying to cut costs, mostly evidenced through the cheap, low quality, processed food and drinks they feed the children. But I was allowed to send his lunch, so that was fine. My son had some challenges with potty training, nothing out of the range of normal, and I was a little surprised with how frustrated the director was with him. Still, they moved him into Panda Room with Miss Carrie. As they say, it was all downhill from there. Because my son was displaying sensory seeking behaviors, the Director asked that we have an evaluation conducted by an OT. We did, and the OT noted some trunk strength and dexterity challenges and recommended some simple accommodations (sitting on a rubber disk, etc). My son was also presenting some failure to obey classroom rules, and we worked with the OT to help him get to a place of understanding. We had several meetings in this regard, and I listened to the concerns of Miss Carrie and Miss Cindy about how my son's behavior was impacting the classroom environment, took it seriously, and made efforts to correct it. We agreed that his behavior was improving, and that he was a bright child with a sunny disposition and eagerness to please. Miss Carrie clearly did not want him in her classroom, and he could fully read how much she disliked him. I am surprised a woman with so little patience has been able to keep a job in childcare. Then, abruptly, I was handed a letter informing me that my son was expelled from their school, effective date two weeks from the letter. I was floored, and so was my son. I was told that Children's Campus could not accommodate his challenges, and that he'd be better served by a CPS IEP. I consulted several professionals, including our OT, and they were shocked at such a sudden expulsion and the overreaction around the accommodations he needed. Here's the thing. They can expel whatever kid they want. But the thing that I have to speak about is the way they falsely pathologized my child. Miss Carrie and Miss Cindy went on and on about what a huge problem he was. Miss Carrie and Miss Cindy also made it quite clear to my son how much they disliked him, and a few days into our termination notice they TOOK AWAY HIS CUBBY even though he had a week left. He was so upset, I still remember it. Miss Carrie wouldn't make eye contact with either of us. Brutal. My son and I shudder when we pass that dreadful place. read more

My son has been at Children's Campus for about a year. He absolutely loves going to this school. We had been at a different school before we moved and it would take 20-30 minutes for me to convince him to let me go so I could leave for work. Now we give kisses and he goes to play and I go to work. It's amazing! The teachers have all been wonderful and care for my son and the other children lovingly. The teachers (Miss Danielle and Miss Erin) really supported me while getting Abel potty trained. He joined Miss Carrie's class soon after and he has been blossoming more. All of the teachers are fab! Miss Yvette and Miss Flor - Miss Margaret and Miss Maria - Miss Patty and Miss Iris - and my son's favorites Miss Danielle and Miss Carrie! We've been members of the children's campus family since 2013 and both of my kids love the teachers like family! They were amazing potty training support for both kids and genuinely care about the success of children in their care. The owners of the center are personable, caring and approachable as well! My daughter attended children's campus for kindergarten with one other student. Ms. Cindy taught her everything she needed and more to prepare her for 1st grade, kuddos! Beware of Ms Iris, she has her favorites (kids) She's not very enthusiastic to be there in the mornings, and seems very overwhelmed with her career! She made a comment to me about my daughter and said," I don't want her to be THAT child people cringe to see!" That being said, this is the reason why Children's Campus is saying I owe them money, when I paid them in FULL. Also, paid fundraisers at any given moment!! Last but not least, summer camp was very disorganized! Expect to pay tuition, and at any given notice at LEAST $50 extra a week with unscheduled field trips. Nonetheless, very little pictures of my daughter were taken on the field trips, although Ms Iris ( posted pics on FB) only posted pics of her FAVORITE kids! Believe me, she's has her favorites! My daughter is no angel, but no child or parent should have to deal with Ms Iris!! Be aware!!!!!!! read more

Now that some time has passed, I feel more comfortable posting a review. My daughter was in attendance at children's campus for no more than one month. The disorganization, the lack of professionalism and basically-just the vibe is off. My daughter was placed with children younger than her, even though she could potty herself and only needed a pull-up at nap time, and as a result her behavior backslid. I wish I was more in tune with her, but thankfully her father noticed something was off and pulled her out. I discovered the explanation of why they placed my daughter where they did was a bunch of BS. I found it interesting that the schools that she attended after this one had no problems placing her with children that were the same age and even a little older. read more

My daughter was very nervous when she first started at Children's Campus this year but the staff were all very kind and patient with her. Now she loves going to school. She is learning so much here and is always in good spirits when I pick her up. She is currently showing me the sign language that she's learning. She loves all her teachers and talks about them all the time. It's so nice to know that my child is being well taken care of while I'm at work. This place has been around for over 30 years. I went here when I was a little girl. I have a lot of good memories of the time I spent here. And although the staff isn't the same as when I was here, they have definitely continued to have the same great care for the children. read more

If your child is one of the favorites you are sure to be happy with this school, however, if your child happens to be one of children the teachers do not like than watch out. All the people that wrote these wonderful reviews must have been the "favorite" children. My son was attending Children's Campus Daycare for about 1 year. I have taken my son out of this school. Please listen to your children when they speak to you and don't make the same mistake I made by listening to the adults instead. When I told my son, that I am taking him to a different school, he smiled from ear to ear and actually told me that "they should put those teachers in Jail for being so mean to the kids". At the beginning, when I brought him to this daycare my son was rebelling because he really liked his old daycare. We went through a little bit of an adjusting period. When I asked the advice of a teacher on how we can make the situation better, I was told to watch all episodes of the "Nanny" and do everything she says. What kind of a child care instructor advises to watch a made up TV show? A different teacher told me that I baby him and that I let him perform circles around me. My son may not be the best behaved kid, but he is an extremely honest kid. He tells me everything he has ever done good or bad. It seemed that even though my son was not at fault he was still put in time-out. My son complained to me numerous times about the teachers being mean to him, he mentioned being in time-out for a long time especially with Ms. Carrie from the "Panda" room. He also told me about being excluded from activities. The kids are age 3-4 in this class. At the age of 4 they go to the "Monkey" room. Sometimes I would come to school and see my son with different clothes. When asked why he was changed, I was told he had an accident. I asked my son what happen and he told me that he was asking to go to the bathroom and the teacher Ms. Carrie would not let him go. When I asked my son, he said that he asked to go to the bathroom and they didn't let him go, so he just went on his cot because he couldn't hold it any more. Isn't this unhealthy for a child? What kind of person does not let a kid go to the bathroom? When I confronted Ms. Carrie she told me he never even asked. Then she went on to say the only time she does not let the children go to the bathroom is once they've laid down on their cots and she's sure they have gone to the bathroom. Does she honestly sit there and make sure that every kid has done their business? Isn't this admitting that she didn't let him go? There was a guy they called Mr. Chris, this guy I found out was the cook. At times when they were short handed he would watch the kids. Really? I thought teaching children required training. Both of my children told me that he was the meanest of all the teachers there. To be honest, I shouldn't even be calling them teachers, they are pretty much baby sitters. The Panda room did absolutely no teaching of alphabet, numbers or even teaching the kids to write their names. When I asked about it they simply told me that is not done until the "Monkey" Room. This school has a bunch of un-educated people trying to teach kids. The majority of the teachers have only what is required by DCFS and they don't have any children themselves. Shame on me for not doing my research. They lied to my face constantly about things going on when they were confronted or when they confronted me. During the summer, I sent my daughter there for summer camp and that's when everything came to the surface. My daughter confirmed everything my son had been complaining to me about for the last year. I know they have been around for 30 years and honestly I think it's because other parents are too scared or just don't want to come forward. My son has been going here for about two years now and we love it. The teachers are wonderful and the facility is spotless. This summer he was old enough to do camp and I'm amazed by all the great things they do. Museums, beaches and new parks every day. Next year my son will be old enough for full day school but he will definitely be coming back for camp in the summer! read more

My son has now been out of Children's Campus since summer 2014 (once he completed PreK). We moved 50 miles away yet he still talks about his "daycare". He spent 4 years there and LOVED IT. The teachers were so wonderful and kept our children safe. Just now we heard a song on the radio that Children's Campus played at my son's preK graduation and both of us (my son and I) started crying. The graduation the daycare did for the kids was a tear jerker from the second it started. There was not one dry eye in the room as the kids sang and danced. My son misses all his friends and always asks me: "Mama, can I go back to daycare?". You can rest assured your child will be safe at Children's Campus and cared for unconditionally. I have been sending my older son to Children's campus for over 3 years and my younger one for almost 2 years. I have multiple family members and dear friends that send their children to this school. I have been so happy with this school and the teachers. I know that when I leave my boys there in the morning, they are very safe and well taken care of. Miss Carrie has been at this school over 20 years and taught both of my boys. She is a wonderful teacher. She has taught my boys sign language, colors, counting, and my 3 year old can count to over 20. She is always doing fun arts and crafts and she has been at this school for a very long time because of her love of teaching. Miss Danielle is there every day when I pick up my older son and she has a wonderful sense of humor and always fills me in on how the day went. She loves her job and takes it very seriously and always puts the kids safety first. I can't say enough about Miss Cindy who is the Director. She has been there over 25 years!! She is available ANY time and she has dedicated her life to this school and to making it as special as it is. When it was my child's first week, she would send updates and pictures to my personal phone just so I could get some peace of mind as a working mother. This school has the LOWEST turn over rate you have ever seen. The teachers stay and that speaks volumes to me as mom. The teachers here put their hearts and souls into making this a warm and loving environment where children learn and grow. This is also another reason why parents send their kids back for summer camp even after they graduate from Children's Campus. My son's pre-k teacher, Miss Iris, is about as kind and patient as they come. I love each and everyone of them and could never thank them enough for all they have done. (Miss Ivett, Miss Patty, Miss Erin, Miss Maria, Miss Margaret-they have all taken excellent care of my kids) Most importantly, the kids are happy when I pick them up. Many of the children's parents are police officers and fire fighters, and waited on a list just to get their child into this school because they know how much they will be loved. I cannot say enough good things about Children's Campus. My daughter started there when she was 2 years old. My wife and I thought so highly of this place that we had our daughter continue through kindergarten. After we enrolled her in 1st grade at her current school, the 1st grade teacher was amazed at how far she was ahead in so many subjects and how well she interacted with other kids. The teachers at Children's Campus are the most wonderful, caring group of individuals you can find, and the early education materials coupled with the lessons in manners and social graces are exemplary. read more

my twins started going here 6 months ago. i looked into all the preschools in the area. i'm very happy with my choice. my kids love it. the teachers are kind and wonderful. i would recommend this school to anyone. it opens at 6am which is big plus for us. my kids already know all their colors, count to 1-5-10, and recognize most letters. this pretty good for 21/2. read more
