I called and they said they had a cancellation two days later if I could make that appointment. I took that appointment. When I arrived at the office two days later, they told me I could not be seen and that they left me a voicemail about needing a referral, which I don't need under my insurance. I confirmed they could not see my newborn and left with my screaming newborn. They were insistent on having left me voicemails, but when they read my cell phone number back to me, they had the wrong number on file, so someone else received the voicemails. Perhaps they should confirm contact details. To continuously insist they had left me a voicemail in a rude tone when I had told them I didn't was very frustrating. Do they really think I would get a cancellation voicemail and then cart my screaming newborn to their office for the fun of it? Pretty annoying when you help out by taking a cancellation and they don't have their ducks in a row as to what is needed for an appointment and then they leave a voicemail on the wrong number and you've carted your newborn around for no reason. Super unprofessional, and frankly, the ladies at the front desk were super rude instead of apologetic since they had messed up. I will not be going back here as they are clearly incompetent and recommend you look elsewhere as well. If this is how they treat a prospective new client, how would they treat you once you're actually a client? I don't want to find out.

Then weird things started happening. I got billed for work that wasn't performed, they tried to charge me for x-rays clearly covered by my insurance, doubled-down and said I owed them money when I insisted it was covered, and then claimed "they deal with so many insurance plans they can't keep all of them straight" when I finally pulled up the plan myself and showed them. My parents got hit with "lab fees" that their insurance company said should have never been charged under their contract with the dentist. Lots of other "billing errors" that. Once is a mistake, but something was off basically every visit. Oh! And you get a "billing fee" every time their office screws up, which is fun. If I were a conspiracist, I might say that the office is struggling and they're trying to sneak in extras that patients are unlikely to notice. However, it can also be explained by a few bad hiring choices for office administrators. When I left the practice, I called to get a copy of my x-rays for the new dentist. The office assistant sent a collection of THUMBNAILS of the x-rays. Like, tiny grainy pictures for the new dentist. They got angry and insisted that they couldn't get me any other format, and that the files were just really small when exported and that they had never had an issue with it before. After some heated back and forth, the office assistant described the menu she was seeing in the software, I suggested things she could try to export them, she finally exported the images individually as high-resolution jpgs and sent them to me. Seriously, they hired morons. My family and I have left the practice.

I found a dentist that took mass health. So I set up the appointment. Luckily, they could get me in right away as I told him I was having some tooth pain. I saw a doctor Mo. Very personable. I'll be at it seemed like the office was really busy and kind of rushed, but I'm OK with that if the Services are great. It means people like them. He examined me for a bit, didn't even take an x-ray, and told me that"tooth number 28 needed a crown! He explained to me that I must've had a root canal done, but there was no crown there. I've listened to him, but couldn't imagine that I had ever had a root canal done and never had a crown put on. My teeth are not great, so doing something like that is against anything I would ever have done in the past. So I set up an appointment for the next week for the crown. On the way home, I called my regular dentist and explained what it happened and asked them if I had ever had a crown on that tooth that might've fallen off. My memory isn't the greatest sometimes, maybe I just never came back or something. My former dentist told me to come right in and they would take a look at my mouth. When taking a look at my mouth, I was informed that I did have a crown on tooth number 28. And I'll be at a new style crown, there was one there so he didn't understand why Dr. Mo was saying there was no crown there. I called back SNY dental, and informed them of what I had found out. The girl on the phone couldn't have been less enthusiastic when I informed her that indeed I did have a crown on the tooth that the doctor wanted to put a crown on, then it wouldn't be continuing with their services because of the fact he couldn't even realize that it was a crown and not my own(of course this is saying some wonders for my former dentist as if he could do a crown that nobody recognized was a crown. I guess that's really good right?!) I found out after the fact as well that SNY dental build mass health for a different tooth. Not even when they looked at, and not even one that they saw had problems with it. When I called them back to let them know that they had processed the wrong tooth. They didn't care. So I had to call mass health to tell them that the dentist office put in for Services. They didn't provide. Stay away from this place. The fact that this dentist couldn't recognize a crown and wanted me to have $2400 worth of services done without even taking any x-rays or anything? Frightening.
