I would strongly encourage not to put your child here. I dealt with the unthinkable this week. My 4…read moremonth old baby came home with injuries from daycare. He had a gash on his elbow and a bruise on his ear. The next day I called the director and was told "the teacher noticed his elbow but not the bruise. He probably rolled in the crib and hit his head on the side". If a 4 month old was developmentally capable of rolling so hard as to bruise themselves, I'm sure there would have been a lot of crying. So someone should've noticed. Secondly, the parent should always be notified of any kind of injury. The director, Kim Smith, was very dismissive and acted like she didn't care at all. If this wasn't abuse, it was certainly neglect. After withdrawing my child, she implied it was somehow my fault for not inspecting my child there at pick up and notifying the teacher then. But per their policy (which I was not informed of when registering him), parents are not allowed in the classroom. You are made to stand at the door and then leave when your child is handed to you. The teacher did rudely confront me about this policy after I attempted to change my sons diaper. The reason behind this rule being germs on shoes, however all the employees walk from the parking lot straight into the room. So where was I supposed to inspect him at? I asked to see video footage from the room, and I was told there are no cameras (when their website clearly states they have cameras placed around the facility for safety). Not to mention the teachers would be sitting around talking and gossiping while multiple babies were crying. So please do not trust this daycare with your babies.

Check it out! https://www.facebook.com/karen.bingham.33/posts/10211952503393586 I had my grandson enrolled int there when he was about 6 months old. During the time he developed a HATE for his highchair - which was EXTREMELY strange! - because he use to LOVE eating. Between my daughter and me - we snuck in and observed - unbeknownst to the owner and his caregiver. They were leaving him - and all the other kids in there highchairs from the time we dropped him off until their breakfast time - approximately 2 HOURS!!!!! When I approached them, the denied it!!! I told them how my daughter and I snuck in a observed; how I dropped him off at 6:30; she came in 2 times and then I came in at 8:30 and HE WAS STILL SITTING THERE!!! I then contacted Lee County DHR. NOTHING came from it!!!!!!... They were a "reputable" daycare for over 20 years and "never" had any issues with DHR before - or so I was told. This daycare needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!! IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!

I can tell she really cares about my daughter and it is comforting to know that while I am at work, my daughter is being looked after. She is teaching my daughter sign language and at the age of 3, she knows 60 words. Every time my daughter comes home, she is constantly telling me about her day with Ms. Denise and the other children at Polka Dots. In the mornings, my daughter rushes us to take her to school. The director there, Ms. Caroline, she is always helping out and making sure the kids there are comfortable. I remember going in for a tour and she stopped the tour to make sure one of the kids was ok. He was crying wildly and wanted his parents. I believe it was his first or second day there.. She told him to come along with us on the tour and got him to stop crying. Now when I see the little boy, he is always smiling and playing. Parents, PLEASE TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!! This is coming from a parent who was constantly scared of taking her own child to a daycare center. I would recommend this place to everyone I know!

With her background as a special education teacher, she truly knows the ins and outs of how schools operate. She doesn't just guide you--she goes to bat for you, stands up to school districts when necessary, and fights fiercely for what's right. And she tells you the truth, even when it's hard to hear, because she genuinely cares and wants the best possible outcome for your child. A warning for local special-education families considering Educational Advocacy Services (EAS),…read moreowned by Marianne Young. I am absolutely furious that I even have to write this. I previously hired Educational Advocacy Services to help with my children's educational needs. I later terminated my relationship with EAS because we chose to homeschool. I have now learned that my full name was included in a public lawsuit involving Marianne Young/EAS and a former advocate, in the context of allegations concerning clients leaving EAS. And I was not the only one. Multiple former clients were named in the public court filing. I am one of several families whose names were made part of a public business dispute that we did not ask to be involved in. For those unfamiliar with EAS, this is a company whose work specifically involves families of children receiving special-education services. So yes, I am incredibly angry that my full name--and the names of other former clients--were placed into a public court filing in connection with this kind of business dispute, as it implies certain services and needs of my children. I trusted this company with extremely personal information concerning my family and my children. Seeing my name used this way has completely destroyed that trust. I'm not telling anyone else what decision to make. I am telling you what happened to me so that you can make an informed decision for your own family. If I were currently considering hiring Educational Advocacy Services, I would personally want to know that a former client who simply terminated services later found her full name included in litigation involving the company--and that she was not the only former client named. Parents of children receiving special-education services already have enough to worry about. We should not have to wonder whether our names will later become part of someone else's business dispute. I have documentation supporting what I've stated here. Educational Advocacy Services / Marianne Young: I wanted nothing to do with this lawsuit. Leave me and my family and our private information out of your fight.

However, it seems the cleanliness and management have changed drastically in the last year or so. The play place is not as clean or cleaned as it used to be to be. You can see dust, hair, fingerprints, etc. on many surfaces. I remember when they use to be closed for cleaning and now I'm wondering if they even have a designated day for that. The workers are also extremely strict. I get it that there are rules and rules are to be followed, but constantly blowing a whistle or talking over the intercom calling out children is really too much. The saddest thing to me was having a child just above the height requirement on the rules and the worker saying he couldn't play. I have seen adults in there with their small kids. So two of my kids can play, but this child is too tall to play? Get out of here. That was our last time visiting and we won't be going back. Plenty of options in Columbus for kids!
