I took my son out of this facility about a month ago and put him in a better daycare center. I…read morewaited to write the review because I wanted to see how he was doing at the new facility. See if he'd changed at all with his new surroundings. I put my son in daycare twice a week for socialization and to help with his speech development. Before he started attending this facility he didn't say no, hit, push or have issues listening (well at least for two). He started when he was two and was there for about 8 months. He had three different "teachers". Every time I'd pick him up they had something bad to say about his behavior and even suggested he was autistic ( the owner said this, when I asked her if she even knew what autism was, she said no. I then asked if she meant ADHD and she said 'yeah that one') I was flabbergasted that she would even suggest that, not knowing what either were. So being a concerned parent I set up testing with his pediatrician, they reassured me that A. He's too young to test at nearly three b. he didn't display any of the characteristics for either. They said he seemed to be a normal two and a half year old. The children are required to sit at their tables most of the day. They do have floor play, but are not allowed to play with each other or even talk as they sit at their tables. They also have outside play. My son is bigger than most and since attending this school is a pusher. So he had to hold the teachers hand while out side. They didn't bother trying to correct him, they just made him hold the 'teachers' hand the whole time (this is what they told me). When the children are crying they don't offer to console the children in any way. I experienced this standing outside my son's room during nap time. They just snapped at the little girl to 'cut it out'. When I walked into the room the poor girl was just lying there crying. Also once I walked into the room and my son got up to run to me, Veta jumped at him like she was going to hit him (the breaking point). She didn't see me. When she did see me she played it off like it was a game. (I always wondered why he cried when I dropped him off with her). I've often walked into the room and there'd be no adult. The rooms are attached and she was in the attached room, I assume for only a minute (I hope). The place also has a horrible smell and doesn't seem sanitary at all. My son was constantly sick. I've had to take him to the doctor at least bi-weekly since he's been there (no exaggeration). I truly just felt they didn't like my son. I've moved him and he's been at the new daycare for a month now. He no longer pushes or hits the other kids. They reassured me it was just a phase he was going through and likely just his surroundings. His speech has improved immensely since moving and he hasn't had so much as a runny nose since leaving. You certainly get what you pay for in this case. Steer clear if you can! If you do choose to try them out and get an off feeling, you're probably right. Don't hesitate. Remove your child ASAP! My son is all around better (at home, at new school and in social situations in general). Please be cautious with this place. The room I speak of by the way, is the 2-3's room. Best of luck in your search for child care!
