There was one teacher in particular who would punish children in odd ways. The final straw was when my wife went to pick up our child then three and she was alone in a classroom with a teacher cleaning with no explanation available. When your two and three year old comes home and sits their dolls down and "plays teacher" by yelling at them "I am the teacher, and you will listen to me!" That is not a good sign. Avoid at all costs. This school came to us via recommendation and it was by far the worst experience we had in the area.

The food wasn't great, always sweet items for the afternoon snack like rice crispy treats. The director and the owner were constantly outside smoking by the playground. The director was never there at pick up or drop off times. She never returned calls or emails. They simply don't listen to the parents they're serving. When we finally made a point that no one was returning our emails and that the unlocked door was a problem, the director kicked us out. We didn't have a back up plan so we asked how our daughter could stay. We were given the conditions to not ask about the door lock any more and that we couldn't talk to the other parents about our concerns. We were lucky enough to find another place quickly, and we left Huckleberry's. Two other parents made the same choice. I don't think asking for the door to be locked is any great imposition. The owner however wanted to prove that no one was going to tell him how to run his business and in the process scared off his customers. I hope that other parents understand that if you see anything at Huckleberry's that you don't like, it won't change. Your concerns will go unanswered, and if you dare to ask about something too many times, you'll be asked to leave. Your patronage and the proper care for your child isn't worth more than the owner's pride.

The free weight area is very small - maybe 2-3 benches & minimal mirror space. They do have a wide range of free weights. The pool is nice. They have a slide. They have different sections of the pool. During the right time of day it is nicely shaded by the trees. The service is dependent on who you get. You have a great experience or an "alright" experience. Is this a facility that deals with a wide range of age - which is great in most cases. I did have on experience that was no pleasant in my opinion. I asked the front desk "Where is the women's locker room?" The guy followed that question with "How old are you? *laughs* 17?" I replied with "I am 20 years old & where is the women's locker room?" I feel like that was a rude & condescending comment. I asked where the women's locker room is. Not to be laughed at and assumed to be under 18. I think laughing at me and assuming I was under age was unnecessary. Instead if he thought I was underage he could have just said the women's locker room is .... and we also have a girls locker room here ... But for the most part this is a nice family friendly place!

I mean everyone of the staff I met that work here, was always nice and friendly. I never had a problem coming here. They would also help you too if you needed it. I hope the next gym I join is just as nice as this one. Most of the time, as soon as you walk in, you give them your card, they check you in, and ask you if you need a locker and/or towel. Then, I usually go to the treadmill. Their treadmills are so advanced that you can watch TV on them while exercising. Next, I usually take a shower. Then, I hook up to their WiFi and check my email using my Laptop. It's a pretty cool place. I always liked coming here.

This is the third time he has been bit by the SAME, KNOWN, biter. He has bitten multiple children, on multiple occasions, over a lengthy period of time. His own teachers call him "the piranha". But yet, because I was upset, and thought they weren't doing enough to protect the children from him, was told "it's not a good fit". We've been there for over a year, and I would challenge them to produce one teacher in that facility that doesn't enjoy my son. But I have heard all kinds of negative comments about the other one. And because he has a difficult home situation, he gets a pass. I'm so heartbroken that my son is being punished. I have even swallowed every bit of pride and practically begged to stay. But "it's not a good fit" because I'm the squeaky wheel. RE: Jamie L's review There is not anything else to the story. The reason I wanted to stay was because I have an anxiety problem and don't deal well with change. The thought of having to introduce my son to new teachers the week before I had to go out of town for work was overwhelming to me, and I had a moment of weakness thinking that staying at Lionsgate would have been the better choice. I am SOOO glad that I didn't get the opportunity to follow through with that. My son has thrived in his new school, and has not been bitten even one time. We are incredibly happy where we are at, and still maintain a relationship with some of the teachers from Lionsgate so that my son can still have them in his life. I NEVER had a problem with the teachers; my problem was always and only with the lack of action by Heidi McCaskey and Glenda McCombs.

Where to begin with the review??…read more I had the pleasure of bringing my two kids here at an early age. After meeting the assistant director (now director, Heidi McCaskey) I knew I was in the right place. Not only was she super friendly, the teachers seemed great during my walk through! I pulled my kids out of another daycare for issues that they couldn't handle and put them here at lionsgate! Best decision of mine and my kids life. I have never had any issues with the staff and have been there for 5 years. As for the last review, why would you beg to come back if you hate this place?? Seems a little silly you hate the place and yet beg to stay, Just my opinion!! There is obviously more to this situation that is untold. I think it is unfortunate that Heidi is made out to be this terrible person when she has been nothing but awesome to our family. Maybe she cares more about the children and tries to find solutions rather than just kicking them out.

Not only have each of his teachers taken the time to get to know us as a family, but I feel like everyone at the facility knows my child and is genuinely happy to see him come in each day. We are always greeted with a smile and each staff member knows him by name and is eager to take care of him each day. Lines of communication are kept open throughout the day through an app where we are updated in real time about what's going on. Live cameras are on, so I can see him while he's there. Every time I peep in the teachers are busy at work engaging the babies. I never see them sitting down or "resting" they always have a baby in their arms. There is a structured lesson plan sent each week and a craft sent home almost weekly, which is hard to do in a class full of infants. My point being, he is well engaged at school. If there is a question or concern his teachers reach out immediately, and each time I have called with a question or concern my needs are addressed immediately in real time. I can't sing their praises enough. The owner is on site daily and knows each child by name. She is easy to get in touch with and has answered every question or has handled any concern I have sent her way. Ms. Nevelyn at the front desk is always eager to help us as well. The facility is also very clean, and the outdoors is completely turfed, so I don't worry about little critters crawling all over him in the grass outside. We have grown very attached to Kids R Kids, and i trust them to take care of our child while we work each day. They are responsive, respectful, and kind to my child. I know he is safe and well taken care of at Kids R Kids.
