They've bent over backward to make sure the kids have the best experience possible, that all their needs are met, and that they are safe and well cared for. They are also so incredibly responsive! As the parent of a child with medical needs, I was especially impressed with the cleaning regimen and standards pre-covid not to mention all the additional safety measures and systems added since the pandemic started. The quality of the education is also great - both pre-school and pre-k curriculums and instruction. Both of my boys were well prepared for Kindergarten. In addition to the top quality of care, I always loved all the extras they threw in. They have special activities throughout the month, water-play outside in the summer, special holiday events in the winter, and even special covid-friendly parades and graduations! Plus festivals, competitions where the kids vote for each other's work, fan mail Friday (a chance for your kids to get "mail" in their classroom) and so much more! My youngest has been in Kindergarten since the Fall, and while it's been great, we truly miss Primrose - they're the best!

While we were searching for day cares, I kept touring all the corporately owned places like Primrose and Bright Horizons, you can tell they look good on paper, but the staff doesn't seem to work there because they're passionate about it. The teachers are absolute gems, the administration is attentive and personable, and the whole school feels like a community. They really let the kids be who they are, meet them where they are, and foster their interests. He was able to paint everyday and they have a music teacher, which is great. The playground is lovely and the kids/other families are kind. I highly recommend. Also, they are associated with Greenwood Forest Baptist church, but it is a non-religious pre-school and GFBC supports LBTQIA and BLM.

The center is bright, open, and welcoming with a happy, cheerful atmosphere that's comforting to both kids and parents. We've absolutely loved the teachers - it's been great to see the true care, concern, and commitment they have for our kids. We love that staff turnover is low and the personal relationships the management and teachers develop with kids and parents allows for easy and quick communication. Our kids have really enjoyed Wednesday Spanish classes, the special activities like puppet shows, dance classes, musicians, and science experiments. In the summers, our kids have enjoyed playing on their splash pad on Fridays and watching veggies grow in the raised bed garden in the back. We love that Kiddie Academy of West Cary has received national recognition from the Kiddie Academy franchise - even with more than 200 locations across the country, this branch's director and teachers have won national awards. We'll really miss everyone at the center once our youngest leaves next month.

We are pretty particular about things (I can totally picture the staff chuckling as they read this! :), so having all of our kids enrolled here is saying A LOT! We definitely had many options when it came to childcare, but by far, this was the best choice for our family. Each day, as we walk through the doors, we are always warmly greeted with smiles and by our first names. The level of transparency and communication has always made us feel at ease and the best part is receiving all the pictures/videos of our kids' smiley faces while they are having a dance party, playing with instruments during music, learning new words and songs in Spanish, playing soccer or just having a blast with their best buds. We also enjoy being able to check-in on the camera feed when we are missing them during our busy work day. The teachers are beyond amazing... fun, creative, loving, the list goes on... and they won't ever hesitate to go the extra mile for their students! We've seen so much growth in our children, both on a social and academic level and I know for sure we owe a lot of it to the care and education they are receiving at KA. We also found that the administration's willingness to be flexible and accommodating to our specific needs to be invaluable. Goodard School at Apex caused a huge stress in our lives. One day, child protection service officer…read morecalled me that there is a complaint against me. As you can imagine, this was quite unsettling. I went through the interview patiently. I was told that the complaint was done by the Goddard School. The complaint was that I take walks with my younger child, without taking my elder child with me, and this was suspicious. I had been doing this for more than a year. So what had happened? What had happened a few days before that was that I had a disagreement with the director. The CPS officer, after satisfying herself by asking me all kind of questions, told me that they have received complaints like this in the past. Based on their feedbacks, they have realized that Goddard is very nice to the parents at the time of enrollment. A year or two after that, on any disagreement, they use one parent against the other. Or if they don't like something about you, they complain to the social service, on some pretext. By this time , the parents cannnot make the children go through a disruptive change, by changing the school. The school is obviously expert in human behavior, and has calculated this in its "art" of keeping the parents in check. The parents then start "working with" the school. She finally told me that the CPS service check is routine, and she will get back. The service was called off in about a month and a half. It was not actually called off. Only when I checked back with them, I received a mail stating "no services required". Needless to say, that month and a half, I was fighting with my own worst fears. I just prayed this to go away. I do not wish that this school happens to you.

The owners (husband & wife team) are on-site. He is friendly, outgoing and makes it a point to know all of the kids and parents by name- the wife, not so much. The old Director & Assistant Director were both very nice - not sure if they've left or have both been on vacation, but the new person that has been there has been really rude, to the point that I have dreaded having to call or go in to the school. The tuition was ridiculously expensive ($986 for part time, M-F 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM), but there didn't seem to be anything more or better than what a "regular" preschool would be doing. They also don't provide lunch, which seems a little unreasonable at that price point. Bottom line - it's just okay. It's overpriced for what it actually is. I'm pretty confident that we can find something just as good, if not better (nicer staff, more welcoming environment) at a more appealing price.

If I could give this Academy a 0 stars, I would. I debated on doing this review, because I really had high hopes especially with this being 5 stars AND in a good neighborhood. Recently I moved back to NC from OH, and I was always skeptical of daycare, so I kept my daughter at home with me. Well, her father and I agreed it was time for her to go. I called Chesterbrook earlier this year in May, and then in September they had an infant opening. So, Ms. Susan Moore had given my mother and I a tour late September. I thought everything was so nice and she was amazing! Well, my daughter started October 9th, and after that day she did not return. For as Ms. Jasmine was her teacher, and there were several things that bothered me. I would find my daughter's behavior somewhat acceptable if she never went to daycare, but she has always gone to my church daycare and not once did she ever act this way. Once I gave my daughter to Ms. Jasmine she was crying and screaming...literally? I thought well maybe that's because she's new? Nope. She cried the entire day. Now, I understood that Ms. Jasmine was new, but she only had two infants, my daughter (who could crawl) and another baby that laid on her back (she couldn't crawl). So, I grabbed my daughter and continued to hold her till I left. I made my daughter a whole feeding plan and explained to Ms. Jasmine step by step how to feed my daughter. She gave my daughter just turkey? then hours later gave her the fruits and vegetables, but that wasn't how I explained it to her? So, when I asked her why didn't she follow the feeding plan, her remarks were, "I forgot". So, when I viewed my daughter's chart. They changed her around 9:45ish AM, then 1 something, and then right around I came to pick her up which was 3:30. I was so confused. THEN, Ms. Jasmine was not wearing no SHOES or SOCKS and her feet were all on the carpet, by the children's toys, and when I looked at her as she was sitting on the carpet, her bare feet was in close proximity to my daughters face. I was disgusted. For I think when you are working in childcare there is a certain way a person is to be presented, I mean in my opinion. I, then continued to walk to Ms. Susan Moore (the Assistant Principal) and ask her was Ms. Jasmine supposed to wear socks and shoes? with booties on? She proceeded to tell me that she was in fact supposed too, and that she would remind her to put something on her feet. Well, I as came to pick my daughter up, she was not wearing any socks, shoes, or booties. Ms. Jasmine was in front of my child, and her nose was running till her snot was in her mouth, while Ms. Jasmine was IN FRONT of her, but attending to the other child. I picked my child up. She wasn't wearing any socks. She had paint on her shirt. AND when I asked for a tissue, she gave me a hard paper towel to wipe my childs nose. My baby looked miserable, and I left her in the worst care thinking she was going to be taken cared of. Nope. I then proceeded to make the decision that my daughter would no longer attend this Academy. As I was coming to get her things, and they didn't include everything. One of the staff members made a comment, "I mean she only did stay for one day " and rolled her eyes at me. I was upset, but I just kept going on about my business. I say this to say, this place is only about the money. They do not care about the children or the families, and just because they are 5 stars...doesn't mean they are legit. I was willing to pay $410 a month, but I'm glad it didn't work out.

It was a noticeable difference to us how much more she was learning and able to do once we started her at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool. The curriculum, class structure, and supportive teacher made a big difference in how much our daughter was learning and enjoying class. We know this PreK program is giving our daughter a good foundation in learning and thorough preparation for any kindergarten program. Ms. Mary is a fantastic teacher and the administration at at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool is terrific as well. The principal and vice principal are very helpful and happy to answer questions. The level of communication between the school and parents is great.
