I accepted a job thinking I had daycare for my 17 month old secured, and last minute - I didn't. I was freaking out now because all the schools I'd reviewed on NC Division of Child Development and Early Education were packed and didn't have any open spaces for my child. I'm so glad that this worked out the way that it did. I met La Shaun who was so comforting, knowledgeable, charismatic and understanding. All the teachers made it a point to say hi to me and to my daughter. I called my fiancé and told him how it went and made the decision in the parking lot that this was the perfect spot! I also met my daughters teacher who was very welcoming and cheerful, just an outgoing, cool teacher (Mrs. Helen) (forgot to mention that before). When I went to drop off my child off for "Discovery Day" I met the district manager Mrs Lucy- she was the icing on the cake. Just made me feel so so at ease. I was feeling a little nervous/sad obviously dropping her off and her taking the time to sit and talk to me and make sure all my paperwork was filed out and all my questions were answered. I can only speak on how they got me in the door, but I will say I've never been so impressed. Ms. Cory was also very sweet. She was really involved in the classrooms and that made my heart smile. We didn't get to speak for long but I was happy seeing her in action with the kids and the daycare. Much respect for that. They def exceeded any expectations. Hoping to a great future relationship together!

When we moved to Raleigh, we put our child in the care of Primrose School of Hilburn and never…read moreregretted it once. This is an exceptionally caring, diligent, and clean daycare. Sonia and Janae are responsive and each of our child's teachers were exceptional. We recently had to move daycares because we ended up not buying a home near Primrose School of Hilburn. We were very sad to leave them, and we wish them the best! If there are any negatives, the 'carpool lane' is not always treated as a quick in and out, and you can often get stuck behind cars of parents that go inside and take their time getting out. The hours (7 AM to 6 PM) are a little shorter than other daycares we looked at. And, the holiday schedule seems to provide a few additional days off than we were accustomed to. We viewed each of these items as being very minor, and overall, we were very happy with our Primrose experience!

But the teachers and administrators worked so hard to ensure a smooth transition. They kept us up-to-date on his progress (and even called throughout the day to let us know that even with a rough drop off in the morning, he was having so much fun with his new friends shortly afterwards), and gave us tips to make the change easier. We have loved the teachers in every classroom that he has progressed to. With our youngest, there was no doubt he would also be joining his big brother. Dropping off an infant is always rough the first few weeks, but it was such natural experience at that point and the teachers are so caring with the babies, that I don't think a tear was shed (so different from my firstborn!). We love being able to follow their daily activities on their secure app, and they send us pictures throughout the day and summaries of what they learned and how we can continue with the lessons at home (ex. 'Toddlers did rhyming today, what kind of rhymes can you two come up with for the word xyz'). I had always thought that I would transfer our kids to preschool when the time came, but I see how much they learn every day at Primrose and know that we'll just make the switch to Kindergarten when the time comes. It's a great, involved school, where your kids are really cared for. All of the teachers, administrators, chef, etc know both of my kids by name and my toddler is always excited to give them hugs or run up for a high five. Extra bonus: It's close to Target so when we're in a rush to grab something on the way to pickup, we can always swing by Target for more diapers, etc.

Our son was only supposed to go there for 1 year but we loved it so much and it was SO good for him, that we delayed him starting kindergarten by a year. In total, he spent 2 yrs there. He started knowing no Spanish (my husband and I don't speak Spanish) and he ended with a really solid understanding of the language. So much so, that when we went to Spain this summer, locals were impressed with his accent and his ability to speak the language. We actually had no particular interest in him learning a Language, but we really wanted to get him into a Montessori school. This school was amazing for his confidence. He started off as a shy, difficult boy who hated his previous preschool. He blossomed beyond our expectations there. He was more than ready (& not only willing, but excited) to go to kindergarten. He loved his time at Maracas. The staff are amazing and caring and it is such a sweet school that I will always hold very dear. I cannot recommend Maracas Montessori enough. Any child that goes there is a very lucky child.

Best preschool in Raleigh-bar none! We have been with this…read morepreschool for 6 years now. All four of our children have attended and now only our youngest child is left as the older siblings have moved on to elementary school! So only 2 more years left of GSLP! Bittersweet! As a newer mother when I was researching all the local preschools I was directed to GSLP by a dear friend whom I admired. I visited them all, asked lots of questions and by far, GSLP was the most prepared, most cost efficient and most qualified. I personally really like the schedule and the times the preschool runs. 9:30am is after the early morning rush so it is the PERFECT starting time. And the fact that the children get to have lunch there-what a blessing! So many other preschools end around lunchtime-and they cost the same if not more for having children there for less hours! (Why? Hmmmm...I dunno!) 1:20pm is a great endidng time because it is after lunch so you don't have to deal with the hurry to get the kids fed right after picking them up, yet it is still before afternoon quiet times (which all younger children, in my humble opinion, should have. Saves mom from going insane and gives them some time to themselves. THAT in and of itself can be talked about for hours....Ok, I digress....) All of the teachers are certified and have extensive backgrounds in teaching. Their curriculum is superb and all of our children have fond memories of GSLP. The parents are very involved and frankly, as each year passes the school improves even when I think it can't improve any more! The Director, Deanna Klimek, is very hands on. Her staff responds well with her and you can tell they all really enjoy working together. Their biggest love, and rightfully so-is the children! Oh how they all love those precious children! We have never doubted our decision to send our children to Good Shepherd. I encourage every parent who is wondering where to send his/her children-to just register those little one/s! You will be so glad you did!!
