If I could give this Academy a 0 stars, I would. I debated on doing this review, because I really had high hopes especially with this being 5 stars AND in a good neighborhood. Recently I moved back to NC from OH, and I was always skeptical of daycare, so I kept my daughter at home with me. Well, her father and I agreed it was time for her to go. I called Chesterbrook earlier this year in May, and then in September they had an infant opening. So, Ms. Susan Moore had given my mother and I a tour late September. I thought everything was so nice and she was amazing! Well, my daughter started October 9th, and after that day she did not return. For as Ms. Jasmine was her teacher, and there were several things that bothered me. I would find my daughter's behavior somewhat acceptable if she never went to daycare, but she has always gone to my church daycare and not once did she ever act this way. Once I gave my daughter to Ms. Jasmine she was crying and screaming...literally? I thought well maybe that's because she's new? Nope. She cried the entire day. Now, I understood that Ms. Jasmine was new, but she only had two infants, my daughter (who could crawl) and another baby that laid on her back (she couldn't crawl). So, I grabbed my daughter and continued to hold her till I left. I made my daughter a whole feeding plan and explained to Ms. Jasmine step by step how to feed my daughter. She gave my daughter just turkey? then hours later gave her the fruits and vegetables, but that wasn't how I explained it to her? So, when I asked her why didn't she follow the feeding plan, her remarks were, "I forgot". So, when I viewed my daughter's chart. They changed her around 9:45ish AM, then 1 something, and then right around I came to pick her up which was 3:30. I was so confused. THEN, Ms. Jasmine was not wearing no SHOES or SOCKS and her feet were all on the carpet, by the children's toys, and when I looked at her as she was sitting on the carpet, her bare feet was in close proximity to my daughters face. I was disgusted. For I think when you are working in childcare there is a certain way a person is to be presented, I mean in my opinion. I, then continued to walk to Ms. Susan Moore (the Assistant Principal) and ask her was Ms. Jasmine supposed to wear socks and shoes? with booties on? She proceeded to tell me that she was in fact supposed too, and that she would remind her to put something on her feet. Well, I as came to pick my daughter up, she was not wearing any socks, shoes, or booties. Ms. Jasmine was in front of my child, and her nose was running till her snot was in her mouth, while Ms. Jasmine was IN FRONT of her, but attending to the other child. I picked my child up. She wasn't wearing any socks. She had paint on her shirt. AND when I asked for a tissue, she gave me a hard paper towel to wipe my childs nose. My baby looked miserable, and I left her in the worst care thinking she was going to be taken cared of. Nope. I then proceeded to make the decision that my daughter would no longer attend this Academy. As I was coming to get her things, and they didn't include everything. One of the staff members made a comment, "I mean she only did stay for one day " and rolled her eyes at me. I was upset, but I just kept going on about my business. I say this to say, this place is only about the money. They do not care about the children or the families, and just because they are 5 stars...doesn't mean they are legit. I was willing to pay $410 a month, but I'm glad it didn't work out.

Our child has been thriving at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool. She has been enrolled in the PreK…read moreprogram for almost a year, and absolutely loves her teacher and everything she is learning in class. It was a noticeable difference to us how much more she was learning and able to do once we started her at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool. The curriculum, class structure, and supportive teacher made a big difference in how much our daughter was learning and enjoying class. We know this PreK program is giving our daughter a good foundation in learning and thorough preparation for any kindergarten program. Ms. Mary is a fantastic teacher and the administration at at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool is terrific as well. The principal and vice principal are very helpful and happy to answer questions. The level of communication between the school and parents is great.

Reason given was that she cried all the time and that was distracting other kids. At that time she was enrolled at this other day care for well over 9 months. We were very upset. It just brought tears in my and my wife's eyes. We didn't believe though. Someone suggested us to try Goddard at Morrisville. It was a saviour. In just two weeks my daughter was not only smiling but was gelling with everyone there. The teachers and owners studied my child and created a plan that helped her in coming out of day care anxiety. This confirmed that the problem was not with my child but the other day care. My daughter graduated from Goddard. While in Goddard she learnt a lot. My daughter is severely dairy allergic (life threatening). In all her years at Goddard not even a single incident happened and they never had to use Benadryl or Epipen. Hats off to the teachers for taking care. We liked Goddard so much that we enrolled our son when he was just 6 months old. All the teachers my son got were fabulous starting with infant room. Over all we spent 5 and half years at Goddard between my daughter and son. I am so glad that we did. I thank the owners and teachers of Goddard for all the support they provided to my two kids.

While I normally appreciate a cautious outlook on health, I can't quite shake the feeling that they knew that I was able to pick my daughter up so we were the first call when for whatever reason they needed children to go home early. I will say I enjoyed my daughter's teachers, they were always pleasant. Because of the teachers we were initially willing to overlook a few bumps in the road by making our position and what we expect clear. However, the business practices of the facility remained untenable. Even up to the point where we gave our notice, they cancelled the last week on us. If you plan on taking your child here, either have a really great PTO policy with your job, or keep another sitter on retainer. You will not be able to reliably take your child there and attend to your job.

When filing a formal complaint with the state AND speaking to the owner, both blew him off. When he asked the kids about it they told him the names of the other kids who have been abused by her. They told him she takes them into a separate room and apparently all you hear is her screaming and she grabs them and shakes them and pushes them around while screaming at them. This is completely unacceptable behavior and I really hope the people responsible are held accoubtable.

Sterling is an exceptional school for academics and quality of day to day learning experiences for children. it performs in the top of NC schools. My children's teachers are nurturing and pedagogically skilled. Independence is facilitated in children, curiosity is valued, opportunities for practice to master content are a priority and drive achievement. Montessori pedagogy supports engaging teaching and learning based in the ways children actually developmentally acquire knowledge. Parents are involved, classrooms are beautiful, well resourced and organized. It's a healthy learning environment (better than most) and I am saying this from being in more than my share of schools on the east coast for over a decade.

The teachers are attentive, patient, and truly dedicated. They not only challenge students academically but also nurture their social and emotional growth. We are grateful for it.

Our experience at Goddard Cary has been great so far. Even though my son only went for a while…read morebefore the COVID crises hit, he loved his teachers, they are caring, loving and very dedicated. Lea, the owner is on-site at all times, and her and the whole staff do an amazing job communicating and keeping in touch about anything that may be going on. You can feel there is individual attention to every student. They have been very understanding and generous during the Covid-19 crises and have done a terrific job taking care of the children of essential workers. They have put in place many protocols and measures to ensure the safety of children and staff. I would definitely recommend!
