three tacos on a cutting board
Jahleel C.

Went to Belleville for an impromptu family trip. This restaurant is big, lots of seating area. We ordered a lot, each taco order was 4 pieces except for fish. We got beef, pork, beans, enchiladas, soup. The taco soup isn't good at all in my opinion, it was more of a stew rather than soup. Enchiladas was not too bad. It was decent. The only thing that was really good was fish tacos and this chicken soup. The soft taco shells were really dry though, maybe if they added melted cheese or something to it would mane the tacos better. Beef was way too tough, I do not recommend. Service was great though, our server was very kind and patient despite cranky kids. I would go here again for fish tacos and chicken soup.

I wanted some good authentic mexican cuisine. This restaurant hit the spot! It's a big establishment, with a big dining area. There is a bar as well, with flat-screen TV's behind the bar. The staff is down to earth and makes you feel right at home. This is a neighborhood gathering spot. It was a decent sized crowd, but not overcrowded. I ordered the Choriqueso and a Coca-Cola. It came with 5 fajita shells, (corn, or flour option). It was topped with lots of melted cheese, the chorizo was pretty darn good! Seasoned just right, too! There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant, it's narrow, one-sided parking, but there is a bigger open parking area not far from the front door. Cash/Credit/Debit are accepted here.

We were passing through Belleville on our way to the cottage near Picton and found this little gem, of course, thanks to Yelp. We decided to order take out (online via their website) and took the food to enjoy at a local park. Our pickup order was ready a little bit past the promised time however they were super busy so totally understandable. I chose the chile relleño (battered/fried poblano pepper stuffed with fresh cheese, smothered in tomato sauce) and bae chose the carnitas burrito. We also ordered a side of guac, chips and side salad. The food was super tasty plus fresh and as other reviewers have noted, we were pleasantly surprised to find tasty Mexican food in a small town. It was also really nice to enjoy our meal al fresco in the park nearby. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Great service, decent menu with many options! Tasty food the only improvement would be that the guacamole was kinda plain. Recommend the margaritas pitchers burrito sandwhich or dorados! Churros were awesome. Great clean ambience

Decent food. Nothing special but nothing bad to say at all. Service was quick. Food was a standard and nothing to write home about.

Small portions, food rather bland. Wasn't a big fan, won't return any time soon, if ever.

Awesome food and service. Would go back again without kids. It is a loud atmosphere. Hard to have a conversation.

Oh my. Not much for Mexican food despite the claim. Plus you have to pay for chips and bad salsa.

It's not a huge menu, but enough to satisfy the hunger. It's like tapas / small plates. The waiter explained that you order dishes individually, and there's no discount for an order of (let's say), 3. And we wanted to try a variety anyway, so it was win-win. It's not a huge place, but not too small, either. It's cozy. As you walk in, the full bar is on the right. Several tables around the rest of the space. At least 3 wait staff and a greeter. They even offer Jarritos! We were here for our 40th wedding anniversary. Everybody started with adult libations, and we ordered chips and guac to start. Then the real deal: chicken tacos, vegetarian, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos. One of us ordered pulled pork. They bring them out of the kitchen one at a time, so that none get cold... and they all get devoured! Ok, I admit I was hungry!! I look forward to going back!!

They don't take reservations but you can get on their online waitlist. All their food was amazing. We got the tuna tostada, chorizo and octopus tostada, elote, one of each type of taco, and the tres leches. We also got the mezcalita sour, which was the best sour we've had in a while. Unfortunately the tres leches was pretty bad. It was so dry and topped with way too much whipped cream to make up for it. But you really can't go wrong with any main course dish. My favorites were both the tostadas and the shrimp taco. The shrimp is cooked so well and every single bite is tender.

He spent 12 years in the casino Industry, then in 2014, started his first juice bar/acai bowl business Pure Raw Juice while living in Baltimore in 2014. He started two other restaurants in Delaware called Daily Veg before moving back top CNY and starting Whacko Gringo as a take out only restaurant serving out of a trailer. Whacko Gringo serves Mexican fair with a twist and acai bowls, and now has a full storefront which includes outdoor seating. Wife and I had passed by Whacko Gringo several times when they were in the trailer. We had always wanted to try it, the menu looked interesting and tasty, but it just didn't work out for one reason or another. They eventually got their storefront and we decided one day we were going to get out there and try them. We walked in pretty early on a Saturday, no one else in the restaurant. Just a couple small tables inside and a couple outside. I ordered the chimichurri beef tacos with rice and black beans, and my wife ordered a burrito bowl and a side of fresh pico and chips. Food seemed to take a while to be made, but it seemed like there were only 2 employees there. Employees were fine for the most part, but pretty indifferent to us being there. When we did get it, we were definitely disappointed. The meat in my tacos had good flavor, but other than that, everything was extremely bland, and my wife felt the same about hers. The pickled veggies, rice, beans, pico had no flavor, we mostly loaded them with hot sauce for some flavor. No salt on the chips, just a disappointing meal. We had high hopes and planned to go back to try more offerings, but we'd probably skip a return trip now.

We've all eaten our fair share of Baja California tacos, Mexican street food and everything was delicious. The steak in the steak elote tacos were tender, juicy, and the elote was spot on: sweet corn, tajin, cotija cheese, sour cream, mayo). The smoked park carnitas were out of this world. Tender, juicy, and great flavor. The chimichurri beef were my dad's favorite, but my mom and I liked the carnitas best and the steak came a close second. The rice and black beans both sadly lacked flavor, however we'd only ordered one portion and it was ample. The in-house fried tortilla chips were great; their seasoning was tasty (a little more salt would've knocked them out of the park) but they were perfectly crisp and crunchy. The dips were all perfect; the pico and guac were so fresh and delicious and the queso was tasty too. The tacos were all generously stuffed. We actually had far more food than we needed, which is not a criticism; it demonstrates how reasonably priced everything is. The establishment itself is well located and has lots of parking and outside seating. Very cute place, too, with a small inside dining area and bar. Wednesdays are $5 margaritas and tacos for dining in. Fantastic deal. Their smoothie bowls sound delicious as did all their other fare. This will be a new family favorite place to eat. So happy to see such delicious tacos in Oswego.
