Well I explained my situation to cashier and she suggested purchasing the wrong size and exchange at other location so that I can get at sale price and get correct size tomorrow. I sincerely appreciate the idea and that gave them the sale and made me happy with my purchase. Sometimes stop and assist customers even at closing time.

For all of my dress and skirt wearing girlies... this is your home. There are always certain times…read moreof the year where finding skirts seems nearly impossible in store. Enter Cato. They ALWAYS have some available, and for that, we give thanks lol. Something else to love about Cato is that the store is divided into two sides. 1. Plus size 2. Not plus size (What do you call that, regular? I don't know... I don't shop over there lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) The beauty is that it doesn't matter which side you shop on. A lot, dare I say MOST, of the clothes are the same. My sister and I head to opposite sides of the store and we sometimes end up with the same item. As a plus size woman, I really appreciate that. Does it mean that the green ruffled skirt we both tried on last December looked so cute on her while I was giving Christmas tree vibes? Sure does... but if I wanted to rock the Christmas tree look, I had the option and THAT'S what matters. Another thing I love about Cato is that they organize things by color. If you need a pink shirt or dress, and I ALWAYS need a pink shirt or dress, you just walk over to your clothing size side and find the pink section. The only exception to this is clearance. Those items are together no matter the color. They have fair prices and I always seem to find something marked WAY down on the clearance rack that I don't know why someone hasn't already snatched up. They must've been holding it just for me! You can also find shoes and accessories too. It's really a one stop shop and I don't know how the people that work there have any money left to take home because if I worked there, I would just be giving my money right back in exchange for all the clothes! One last thing I appreciate is that I can usually always find a shirt with words on it that reference Jesus. Like my shirt with a guitar that says "Raise a Hallelujah!" Jesus is my jam and if that were on a shirt, I'd buy it!

The racks are lined with nice shirts, shorts, pants, shoes etc that look basically brand new. The sticker shock you normally get from regular stores happens but in the opposite direction. You're surprised by how cheap some of the clothes are especially for the quality and brands. I walked out with 5 men's shirts for $55 and it took me no time at all since the selection was great and the staff was plentiful. I also give this place bonus kudos for having nice hangers and comfortable, nicely lit fitting rooms.

The prices here for USED clothing/shoes is ASTRONOMICAL. Like, I didn't know what to expect. I mean, I have been shopping at Once Upon a Child for YEARS so I assumed the prices were somewhat reasonable. First tag I saw was for a pair of Nike shoes... $69.99 FOR USED SNEAKERS. Then we went around looking at clothing. $17-25 for sweatshirts. Lululemon top for $55. It was a shocker to say the least. Now, there did have a giant sign saying clearance was 70% off and we poked around those racks but didn't see anything we liked but my God, we can not afford to buy USED clothing here. Store itself was very nice. Clean, beautiful lighting, racks were neatly organized. Very lovely. While we didn't interact with any workers, I did overhear them speaking to a customer and seemed very friendly and professional. Not sure of how their buying of items is... I ONCE tried to sell to Platos Closet and they bought like one item out of the whole basket and gave me like .75 for it... perhaps this store is different... can't comment on that. Unfortunately, "too rich for my blood." I'd rather kit the clearance racks at major stores and buy new for less than the used items here.

Now I can proceed and take the shirt to the dry cleaners.

She likes the Banana Republic brand and the clothes seem to fit her well. The prices are really good at times and average at others. From a men's clothing perspective, they are not cut to fit larger frames. If you wear rolled up cuffs on your jeans, you'll like shopping here. If you need more room and prefer to continue to breathe when you are dressed, then you should probably shop elsewhere. Just my opinion. Bottom line - For women's clothing, the wife really likes shopping here. For men's clothing, it runs small and is not made for men that actually have meat on their bones.

I went into Anthro recently as I love to window shop here and look at the sale room. So I…read moreeventually did go into the sale room and there was one sales person in there helping another customer. I looked, but I wanted to wait to feel more comfortable alone for the salesperson to leave. Another walked in and pretended to be straightening clothes, it was very clear why she was in there because there was no reason for two sales people to be in there. She proceeded to stay in the room straightening clothes as everyone left and it was just me. Eventually I left to shop without being bothered in the rest of the store and wait for her to leave the sale room so I could be there unbothered. While on the sales floor at least 3 people asked me if I wanted a dressing room. While I did have clothes in my hands, I wanted to look at everything before getting a room. I like to carry items and think about my decision to buy. Finally she left the room and I went back in to browse ALONE. As I was walking back in to look at items, ANOTHER salesperson walked in and again pretended to be straightening the clothes. I was very annoyed by this time and left the items I was considering purchasing in the sales room out of frustration. I had wanted to try them on, but all interest in buying from that location left me due to sales people refusing to let me shop in piece. Ironically as I walked out the door, TWO sales people approached me and asked if I would like to have a dressing room. I left the store with no purchases in hand. The manager said thank you for coming, and I thanked her, but I've basically decided to never go to the Baybrook location again. A lack of trust for customers and bothering them constantly to buy is a bad recipe. I went into Paper Source afterward and a sales person approached me to say hi. I told her about my experience at Anthro and she chuckled saying she wouldn't harass me. It also seems like this location is not doing too well because they have decreased their inventory--not as full as it was when they first opened a few years ago.

Owners, Cayenne and Concho, (AKA Kelli Holmes and Don Hendrickson), have created an eclectic mix of Art, Apparel, Accents, and Accessories, all made by Texas Artisans and presented in a cool vibe slightly reminiscent of a retailer in in the Village of NYC during the 60's and 70's. Cayenne and Concho have sold my art for the past 5 years here and at a former location in ETX. This place is very unusual and lots of fun to explore, especially if you are looking for an eclectic experience outside of the similarities most retailers offer in most stores today. Cayenne, a creative powerhouse, makes a lot of the offerings herself, including a line of clothing called Filly Pepper. The clothing line is recycled form vintage and current pieces on which she paints, tie dyes and sews into one of a kind wearable art. She also creates decorated hats and jewelry as well as very unique 3 dimensional assemblage pieces filled with humor and complete originality. If you are in Galveston, don't miss this rare establishment. I guarantee it will be an EXPERIENCE.
