It's been awhile since I've shopped at Maurices because they've closed so many of their locations…read more I just happened to be running errands in Clear Lake and remembered about this store located in the League City Town Centre (oddly, the store has a Dickinson address). I've been trying to overhaul my wardrobe and decided to stop in to see if I could find anything. Their clothing is cute and it's size inclusive (XS-4XL). The quality of the clothing is pretty good considering the prices are moderate. The staff has always been very friendly whenever I've shopped at their stores. They're great about getting a dressing room started for you so you're not having to carry a huge pile of clothes around the store. They write your name on the dressing room door which is a nice personal touch. Blanca was so helpful during this particular visit! She grabbed clothing for me if a size didn't work and made suggestions for different clothes to try. The other employees were very nice as well, but Blanca was a gem! Besides clothes, they also have jewelry, accessories, and shoes. I've bought a few pairs of shoes at Maurices. I still wear some of them now and they were purchased over 5 years ago. Again, the quality is decent considering the price point. If you're in the Clear Lake area, then you have the pleasure of not having to drive out of your way to shop at the store. For the Pearlanders (or Pearlandonians, or Pearlandites; what is the proper demonym for the citizens of Pearland?!) this is our closest option (unless you're on the west side in which that case I suggest you visit the store in Rosenberg).

But I'm always offered the option to order online, with free s/h. The staff is friendly, they offer to assist so I can shop more comfortably. There are unique things I couldn't find anywhere else or perhaps I would have to go to different stores to find. The artistic displays (which are changed every few months) are so beautiful, and paired with the candle scents makes or a very pleasant experience, even if you come to look...I hardly ever leave empty-handed!

I looked, but I wanted to wait to feel more comfortable alone for the salesperson to leave. Another walked in and pretended to be straightening clothes, it was very clear why she was in there because there was no reason for two sales people to be in there. She proceeded to stay in the room straightening clothes as everyone left and it was just me. Eventually I left to shop without being bothered in the rest of the store and wait for her to leave the sale room so I could be there unbothered. While on the sales floor at least 3 people asked me if I wanted a dressing room. While I did have clothes in my hands, I wanted to look at everything before getting a room. I like to carry items and think about my decision to buy. Finally she left the room and I went back in to browse ALONE. As I was walking back in to look at items, ANOTHER salesperson walked in and again pretended to be straightening the clothes. I was very annoyed by this time and left the items I was considering purchasing in the sales room out of frustration. I had wanted to try them on, but all interest in buying from that location left me due to sales people refusing to let me shop in piece. Ironically as I walked out the door, TWO sales people approached me and asked if I would like to have a dressing room. I left the store with no purchases in hand. The manager said thank you for coming, and I thanked her, but I've basically decided to never go to the Baybrook location again. A lack of trust for customers and bothering them constantly to buy is a bad recipe. I went into Paper Source afterward and a sales person approached me to say hi. I told her about my experience at Anthro and she chuckled saying she wouldn't harass me. It also seems like this location is not doing too well because they have decreased their inventory--not as full as it was when they first opened a few years ago.

I took said voucher to two of the closest MW to me and neither one seemed to know how to redeem it. They both told me to do it online which ended up not working. I took it to this location and the wonderful staff here took the time to figure it out and order the suit I requested. When the suit was delivered, not only was it not a suit, it was the most hideous plaid sports coat that wasn't even my size. Needless to say, I went back and they were super apologetic. They once again had to call customer service and fix the problem. This time they had it delivered to the store first. My suit finally came and since I had no immediate need for a suit, they said I can come back anytime and have it altered. Though Men's Wearhouse as a whole has been dropping the ball alot lately, this particular location did their absolute best to make it right.
