It helps locals and visitors alike have access to the exceptional alternative resources we have locally. The Lotus Guide is filled with insightful, well written and educational articles about health, environmental issues and global consciousness among many other current topics. There are always great book reviews and a local directory to help people connect in the alternative arts and healing sectors. The magazine has been instrumental in helping my own business as well as many other small businesses grow while reaching a broad segment of our population. It's been a blessing! Dhara and Rahasya have put their heart and soul in this publication and it shows! They are people who come from the heart and deeply care about our planet and humanity. This is their way of contributing to the high quality life we enjoy in northern California. They have created a wonderful magazine highlighting some of the resources available in our area. We are lucky to have them here! I had the good fortune and pleasure of writing for the Lotus Guide for many years before circumstances forced me to take a leave of absence. I hope to return again! The Valley Mirror is celebrating 30 Grand years of Journalism…read moreKudo's, leis and koolades to you. When we arrived in Willows in 1987 it was definitely a different town. There were many businesses downtown, including Daughtrys Dept. store, that big old windowless building on the corner of Sycamore and Tehama, three full floors of merchandise. The big indoor mall was full of stores, as were all the other streets with 77 Joy St., a Florist and a Pharmacy and of course the ever so faithful Willows Hardware. The Valley Mirror would get the community all revved up for the Holiday excitement by announcing the Willows Light Parade, after which we would walk from store to store and enjoy the free goodies that were offered us as we perused the store's shelves for Christmas gifts. The Mirror grew, moved into Willows and eventually became part and substance of our very lives. We have been enlightened by all the wonderful staff and writers that have evolved over the years. Larry Judkins our Atheist Religion Editor (I still smile at that), has given all denominations a free say in the paper. Let's talk about free. The Valley Mirror has provided, without charge, as much space as you need to give a closing message about your departed loved one. Churches and Non-Profit organizations are given free access to the Mirror's pages. Tim makes sure the "gentle readers" be cognizant of the comings and goings of county proceedings. That's good for us, not so much for him sometimes. I don't know how the Valley Mirror is able to pay their staff or even eck out a living and continue to give us such a wonderful small town paper. Newspapers are almost a thing of the past and we should feel very privileged to have our own. This is a wonderful town to live in, it is well taken care of by our government officials and to some effect that is expounded because of the efficiency of our local newspaper staying on top of necessary and needed items in our lives. Everyone with an address in Glenn County should be a subscriber and reading their newspapers on Wed. and Sat. as they become more educated and enlightened. How about taking time to drop by The Valley Mirror on Sycamore St. in Willows and giving them a thumbs up and a smile, it might give them the incentive to continue on this journey. After all everyone can use a little praise now abd then. Bob and Virginia Coombs

The employee -- who I was told is the one who provides pricing on this type of service -- met me in front, inspected my car, and stated it would be $300 and that I would simply need to wash the car before dropping it off. When I returned about 6 weeks later to schedule (I was waking on a backordered windshield replacement), the office manager stated that the other employee was on a phone call and that she would send me an email (I explained fully my previous visit.) Curiously, it was now $400. When I asked for an explanation of the price increase, she stated (over emails) that the other employee had merely provided an estimate. However, he had never stated that it was a ballpark estimate. I question their honesty and integrity after this exchange. I won't ever do business there.
