Wow!!! I came here solely based upon the reviews here and I am NOT disappointed!! I got here right when they opened which enabled the staff to fully explain how it all worked. Yes, as mentioned here, it is much like the build your own Bowl or burrito places but BETTER!! I had cracked wheat as opposed to rice and I'm in love. Kind of like barley, and much lighter than rice, which is not my friend. 8 toppings later, including pickled veggies that are great for digestion and added a world of color to my bowl, I sat down to eat. I had done so much work making the bowl I hadn't paid attention to the price and I just need to say $6 for this was a SCORE! I hope they don't raise their prices because that will be how they stand out from the many competitors in this area. You MUST try this place if you've ever, like me, thought that the end of La Shish meant the end of the shawarma as we know it. read more

One of my favorite grab & go spots! Literally are always so sweet & the food is so fresh. Absolutely LOVE this place. Its awesome because sometimes the owner is literally working the line as well which you do not see very often. I would recommend & a favorite. My only complaint is they aren't in expanding yet (but if you do, come to Troy!)! read more

By far the most genius, delicious, & amazing meal I've had in a long time! The food is fresh, has amazing flavor, and paired together perfectly in either a bowl or pita! The fattoush is also delicious, house dressing is amazing!!!! The owner and what I believe is his family are friendly, helpful, and overly accommodating for difficult customers like me who don't know what to choose!!! I've been back twice in a week and will definitely continue to make the 25 min drive from home to eat it more often! I agree that The Chickpea Kitchen is like a Mediterranean Chipotle and that is not a bad thing. My family and I showed up on a Sunday night, a half hr before closing time and were greeted warmly. We ordered two steak shawarmas and a chicken cream chop sandwich. Our steak was grilled fresh within a few mins and we got to sample the red pepper hummus and cilantro jalapeno hummus. Both were delicious but the cilantro jalapeno was my favorite. We all opted for cracked wheat in our pitas and it was a great choice. The toppings were also crisp and fresh like they had been refilled often. I can't wait to come back and order their other options. read more

Went to check it out to see if it lives up to the great reviews, and the simple answer is that it does. Friendly staff, you have your choices of different variety of food. The fries are awesome. You can tell the quality is good since I always see a lot of people inside at all times and many returning customers. There is enough seating spots to dine in. The price compared to places like chipotle is cheaper, which is a plus! Id recommend everyonr to try it! Definitely a five star restaurant. read more

Great staff, very friendly and patient when ordering, explaining everything and sampling anything. Loved the cilantro/jalapeno hummus. I had the chicken shawarma bowl and lentil soup and both were delicious and filling and my wife had the chicken cream chop bowl, made to order with all the fresh toppings and sauces (she loved that), we also got the garlic sauce and pita chips and drinks, it was all less the 16 bucks.
