When my job started planning our staff appreciation event, I had to mention Al & Dora. My team went with my recommendation and Al & Dora were such a hit! Staff members told me this was the best food they've had at any of our staff events (FYI - we have our own caterer on site - this should say a lot lol!). I can't tell you what I recommend without naming their entire menu. I promise you you will not be disappointed with anything they offer. Aside from being the most delicious BBQ you'll ever have, Al & Dora and their team are so friendly and professional. They supplied their own equipment for both events and grilled on site. For our staff event, we had a few vegetarians. Al was sweet enough to cook up a vegetarian BBQ dish that truly satisfied our vegetarian staff members. Thank you Al & Dora and team for delivering such yummy food and great customer service!!

Osuna's? I'd rather oh sooner try any other Mexican…read morerestaurant. Just came back from a vacation in Mexico where the food was amazing. Wanted to try an "authentic" Mexican food restaurant near me. First time here & was very disappointed. Ordered a wet burrito which I've tried numerous times at so many other restaurants. The steak was very gummy & rubbery. Kind of gross. The guacamole was very watery. The burrito was sitting in what looked like soup. I get it's a wet burrito, but it shouldn't be "soupy." Asked the server for 2 waters & he brought 2 bottles of water from the fridge not telling us it was an extra charge. Water is usually included at restaurants. Or at least mention you only have bottled water & there's an extra charge for it. He was also cleaning when he wasn't serving people food & didn't seem to wash his hands in between. I was with someone else & they ordered a steak quesadilla & only ate half it. Didn't want to take the rest home. So, it wasn't only me. Did I mention it's overpriced as well? I had 2-3 bites of my food. Stood up, paid & walked out. Server was standing over me so I felt pressured to tip when I shouldn't have. All in all, next time I have a craving for Mexican food. I'd rather go to Del Taco before coming here again. You should too.

Another Eat the World LA Find…read more La Casita Mexicana -- another Eat the World LA find that did not disappoint! I first visited while I was in the area with my best friend, who is also half Argentinian like me and does modeling as a hobby. She had just finished another successful photoshoot on the Eastside of Los Angeles, made great connections, and got some amazing content. It was getting late, and we wanted to start heading back home toward the freeway, but we were starving. We both love food and get the munchies now and then, but we also wanted to celebrate her latest milestone, so I suggested La Casita Mexicana. The ambiance was like stepping into a little casita in Mexico -- bright, colorful, vibrant, and welcoming. The staff were friendly, too. We tried an appetizer and shared the Enchiladas Tres Moles. Granted, I've never had truly authentic mole, but I've had versions of mole that were not good. The mole here, however, was out of this world delicious. Even the mole that came with the dinner chips as their "salsa mole" was fantastic. I remember thinking, I feel like I'm experiencing Michelin-star-level food in the middle of the LA barrio. And honestly, that's the beauty of the barrio. There are culinary diamonds all over Los Angeles -- you just have to give them a chance and be willing to try somewhere new. I've since returned with my boyfriend, and the food has never disappointed. For a little personal context, I'm half Argentinian and half Mexican. Although the Mexican side of my family is from Guadalajara and Sonora, I didn't grow up eating Jalisco-style cuisine, so exploring different regional Mexican cooking has been especially fun for me. It's always interesting discovering flavors and traditions that are part of my own heritage but weren't necessarily part of my upbringing. La Casita Mexicana is definitely one of those places I'm glad I ventured out for -- and another successful Eat the World LA discovery.

Before the food even came out, they brought us chips with mole, and those were perfect on their own, a worthy palette opener while we waited!
