Chicken 2. Tender and Crispy Fries
    Alan D.

I was on my lunch break and I saw this a few times driving home from the area. This time, I decided to go in and give it a shot. It was pretty empty when I was there, and the gentleman who took my order was very nice. I got the chicken tenders meal with fries. He told me it would take about 10 minutes, so I sat and waited for my order. Chicken tenders and fries: For $10, I found it pretty reasonable for what I got. I got it at mild spicy, and it had a little bit of a kick to it. The chicken tenders were crispy, but a bit dry for me. I love the kale slaw and the fries were crispy as well. The sauce I didn't care for, since I really didn't taste much from it. Still, a very reasonable price for everything. I can see myself coming back here again.

So happy I tried this place! The man working there was very nice and friendly. The space is big and clean with lots of tables and seating. And the food was delicious!! There are four spice levels: classic, mild, hot and blazin. We opted for the mild and it was tasty but not spicy. I might go for hot next time! My friend and I split a #1 (chicken sandwich & fries) and #4 (Mac n' tender supreme). Both were great! I really enjoyed all the flavors combined! Sweet kale slaw with the pickles and the thyme sauce! Yumm. The Mac was also great, saucy and not dry! I also got one of their sparkling drinks, raspberry flavor. Super tasty, subtle raspberry flavor and not overly sweet. I loved it. The has a lot of great looking options to choose from so I will definitely be back!

7 of us tried this place- takeout. Only 2 of us would come here again. Ratings among us ranged from 2-4 stars, hence 3. Online menu says they had chicken and waffles as well as fish sandwiches. Order online didn't have those available. Called and they confirmed they didn't have chicken n waffles. Bummer. Anyways, we ordered the following - Couple orders of the tenders n crispy fries- more like chicken katsu style since the "tenders" were cut up into strips. Kids said the fries were average and they enjoyed the chicken. Pepperoni pizza- comments included "did they just get those frozen pizzas from the grocery store and added a bit more cheese and heated these up?" It really did taste like that. Pretty good considering how comforting those generic frozen pizzas were back in college and it reminded me of that. Various kebab plates- we got the beef and lamb kebab plate and the beef and chicken kebab plates. Def the more expensive items on the menu, but decent serving size. The beef one was pretty good- nice and flavorful, though just a tad bit dry. It comes with a tomato, and a bit of a tomato onions cucumber mix. Also a thing of hot sauce which was really spicy, which I liked. The lamb skewer was dry. The chicken was dry as well. Did we just pick up food on an off day? Rice and flat bread was included. A lot of rice. Mostly just dry across the board here. Chicken wings- the person that got this liked it. Prob come here for these and other chicken items. Fix the menu situation and be consistent, please.

The chicken sando meal is excellent. The kabob plates are healthy and delicious. For $10-12 for a great meal, it's the best deal in Concord. The guys there are really nice too. I will be coming back regularly.

The newest fried chicken place in Concord with a twist! The food is delicious!!!! There is parking behind the restaurant and an entrance. It is next to a Mediterranean food market. The owner and staff are very friendly and care about providing good customer service and good food. Now for the food, my husband and I had the #3 Tenderous Rice Bowl with different spice levels. I had Mild and that was perfect for me. Good spice and well seasoned chicken. The rice was delicious! It was basmati rice, and the bowl came with chicken, some coleslaw, and pickles. We also ordered a side of fries and Mac and Cheese. The fries were perfect! The fries are a little bit thick and crispy. They remind me of carnival fries. They were good. The Mac & Cheese was simple but good. It was very hot! Overall we loved every dish. My husband ordered a chicken tender, hot level spice and it was a bit too spicy. I thought Mild was perfect. The fried chicken has a different batter. It is not too thick and it is not oily. This will definitely be my favorite go-to restaurant for fried chicken! The restaurant also has a separate menu for a Persian restaurant if you want something different. I want to try something from that menu next! If you are in the area, support this new local restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

Chicken Thyme is a new little chicken spot, sandwiched between two International/Persian markets. They have two entrances, so don't be alarmed if you walk in through the side door and it looks super empty. We were surprised to see two menu boards, one for chicken and the other for kabobs and other Persian foods. The chicken menu consists of tenders, wings, nuggets and chicken sandwiches. They have a list of sides but pretty basic stuff like fries, mac and cheese, rice and kale slaw. This is pretty standard fare for all the chicken sando spots now. We opted for the #1, #6 and the whole pizza. Each item was priced at $10. The chicken sando and buffalo wings combos each come with either french fries or mac and cheese. You get to choose your spice level as well: Classic, Mild, Hot, and Blazin. The Hot was pretty spicy, but I could see people wanting an option between mild and hot as mild was too tame. The fries weren't anything special, but the mac and cheese was a good portion and very creamy. It's cheesy but not as flavorful as I would like. The texture was great though. Whatever spice level you opt for the chicken, they sprinkle a little of it on the mac. The chicken sando had a huge piece of chicken. A little dry, but not bad. It's topped with a little bit of sauce, kale slaw, and pickles. I would have preferred a bit more sauce and honey, but otherwise, this was a solid choice. The buffalo wings were not buffalo wings lol This combo comes with 4 huge crispy wings. It's not saucy but it had a good dry rub on it. This would be best with some ranch to dip, but didn't see this as an option. There was a teensy bit of kale slaw on the side, and some sliced pickles, which offered some brightness to round things out. The cheese pizza was solid. If you love the taste of frozen pizzas like me, this will be your jam. This took longer than the other food, so just keep in mind it can take about 15 min to cook. It was served with some type of sauce. I have no idea what it is, but I liked it! I think for the price point and quality of food, this is definitely a worthwhile spot to try. It's close to my daughter's classes so we'll be adding this place into our rotation.

Family kabob special - 12 skewers $60 - you can't beat that even by making it yourself!

Went to check this place out, it's down the street from the workplace. Let me start off by saying the prices won't me over! $10 combos is so pre-inflation and i love it! We ordered the tenders and fries CLASSIC sauce for the little ones. Wifey got the Chicken & saffron rice HOT. I ordered the Chicken wrap also HOT, and threw in an order of the Mac & Cheese Fries with the HOT chicken for the aesthetics. The chicken was great, the sauce was even greater! HOT is indeed HOT, will put a warning stamp on that, we saw that coming and grabbed one of the yogurt drinks so it wouldn't be too bad. The chicken was juicy and was very flavorful with the sauce, they also came with the kale slaw and pickles on the side which was a nice change of pace to add with the dishes. $52 was the total tab for a family of 5, it doesn't exist with good food nowadays and this here proved me wrong. We will definitely be back.

    Chicken sandwich and fries.

I'm not an authority on Afghan food so this is rated as an outsider…read more Overall the food can be summarized as: lightly seasoned, enjoy the simple flavors of each component, and Must use the sauces to complete the dish. I personally think everything needed some salt, but maybe it's meant to be this way. Highlight is most definitely the green sauce (yogurt and chili, not spicy), baklava (sweet sticky on the bottom and flaky crisp on top, not overly sweet), yogurt mint drink (dough). Shami beef and chicken kebab were juicy and not dry. Through a bit of miscommunication.. I was given the yogurt drink instead of the normal side of yogurt cucumber sauce for the meat, and was warned by Ali that some people don't like it since it's a yogurt drink with salt, but honestly it was great and was essentially a yogurt mint sauce I expect from other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern type places but more watery. So admittedly I just took sips of this while taking bites of the kebab and rice and it was pretty much the flavors I was looking for, but an extra step. Beef Mantu was another source of confusion since there are regular and homemade versions (I didn't realize). They made me the homemade version without confirming with me on the phone; no problem. It was filled with lightly seasoned beef and topped with interesting spices. Overall not bad not great, definitely needs sauce / salt. Too light in my opinion. And for $25 I wouldn't get again not worth it. The customer service from Ali was great. Knowing this was my first time he explained everything, offered to charge me less due to the miscommunications (I declined), and gave complimentary side of sauce and baklava as a nice gesture. Good food. I know how to order next time. Extra green sauce or yogurt drink all over.

Service was pleasant, and we received enough attention throughout the meal course. Great, open seating with the view on the Monument Boulevard, that was bright and comfortable. The outstanding Afghani food, and even better the desserts with saffron tea made this experience complete throughout. Would highly recommend Narunj Palow with thinly sliced dates. Turned out to be a little bit pricier than I thought it would be for a lunch, however, it really did worth it.

To keep it short…read more.. Excellent food. Excellent service. Gluten free options. I will definitely make sure to visit again when I'm in town. -------------- If you want to read my story of how and why I tried this place, read more here: I walked by this place while my car was getting an oil change. They had a sign that said in big letters, "HUNGRY? We can fix that!" Like Winnie the Pooh, I checked in with my stomach and answered yes! I was famished. I had brought my lunch with me but left it in the car while it was getting the oil changed, so I had nothing to nibble on. It was kind of early, maybe 10 AM, and I didn't even think they would be open, but then I realized they did have the sign outside on the sidewalk. I walked by the front door and it opened automatically. My heart started to flutter. So I went to look at their menu online and saw that they had chicken shawarma bowls. I love chicken shawarma. I decided to look them up on Yelp and make sure they had good reviews. I realized that they were a sponsored ad, and that gave me pause. The last time I went to a Middle Eastern restaurant that was sponsored, it was not so great, so I quickly checked the reviews. They have pretty good reviews! One review said that the chicken was dry, but others were more positive. I had a really good feeling, so I ordered it. Another reviewer commented that the rice was so good -- and they're not normally a rice enthusiast -- so when I placed my order, I upgraded my rice from the white rice that comes with the order to the rice infused with turmeric and garbanzo beans. When I opened my order, the bowl was a pretty decent size. If my husband had been with me, we probably would've been able to split it. In my order, I saw: * Seasoned chicken drizzled with shawarma and a delicious white sauce. * Hummus * Tomato cucumber salad * And this yellow turmeric rice I couldn't resist -- the rice was the first thing I tasted, and it was delicious! I can't quite figure out what flavors are in there, but I could taste a hint of cinnamon, and there were definitely other flavors there. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The hummus could very easily be the best hummus I've ever had. I really enjoyed this meal. I really wanted to eat the entire bowl myself but decided to save half of it for my daughter, who I know will also love it. Customer service was excellent. Adam was at the counter and greeted me very warmly. And when I was leaving, they asked me if I wanted hot sauce and then they put that in the bag. Overall, I give this five stars. I love that the food comes in an eco-friendly container. If there's anything that I could change, it's probably that they put it in a plastic bag instead of a paper bag. I try to avoid plastic as much as possible, but the container was quite big and needed to be in a bag while I hiked back to the oil change place. Oh, and before I forget... one of the first things I asked before I ordered is if the shawarma plate was gluten-free, and he assured me that everything in it was unless I was getting pita. And one more fun note -- when I got back to the car place, someone walked in, saw my food, and immediately asked, "Oh, is that from Manakish?" I was pretty impressed they could recognize it just by the look, especially since the restaurant is about half a mile away. Oh...and when i gave it to my daughter...she loved it so it gets two thumbs up!!
