Food was good, we got chicken and noodles. Service was terrible. The woman at the cash register was on the phone the entire time when we asked where the menu was, she just pointed instead of verbally acknowledging us that is the only thing keeping them from getting higher than a three.

Hey what's that over there? Let's take a look. Why it is a hidden gym. If you going to judge a spot by just the outside then this is a place I doubt many of you will try. As for decor there is not much inside either. Simple tables which is not a big deal since most people come in for take out anyway. What this place lacks in decoration or appeal it makes up greatly in the taste of food that is a mixture of Chinese and Korean. This place has been at the same spot probably for about 30 years. The fact that some restaurants can stay open for even a third of that time is impressive but to stay open for 30 is saying they are doing something correct. I think the most popular meal is the selection of "baskets" where you get fried rice and your choice of various wings. I will suggest to pay the little upcharge of $3 and get the house combination rice. You usually get about 8 wings and these are no small flats or drumettes. The rice is is always packed with veggies and meat making it more than enough for two or saving for the next. Plenty of flavor and the rice is never dry like at some places. I usually go with either the spicy wings or bbq ones and their mandu (Korean dumplings) makes a nice side also. The consistency of the amount of food you get and the flavor is a plus. At some places it is a hit and miss and you might find yourself peeking at who is cooking in the back before you order. Not an issue here. Good food and a place worth giving a shot.

I decided to try this place after a lot of hype, disappointingly it did not live up to it. My friend and I both were very displeased with our food. My general tso chicken tasted like dirty grease, my friend's was overloaded with sauce. We both felt sick before even finishing our meal. I'm pretty sure we didn't even get the correct order, either. That being said if you don't care about food quality and want a lot of bang for your buck, this place is right for you

Low prices and quick service. My food however was underwhelming. Sesame chicken has lots of tendons and cheap parts of chicken, and was mixed with carrots and onions which I normally would not put in Sesame chicken. Rice seemed to have pieces of ham/bacon and was not good.

I've been here many times and it's awesome. Some of the best General Tos chicken I've ever had. The rice though, not my favorite. Its not that it's horrible, just kinda flavorless. That being said I will still order because their portions are huge. My picture was taken AFTER I ate, that was what was left over! I mean come on, it's a win!

    Wontons

This place does NOT know how to cook Chinese food. The lo mein is absolutely awful. No flavor or seasoning and the noodles were pretty much mush. The fried rice was flavorless as well. The wontons were so greasy they were mushy, no crisp whatsoever. The ONLY thing good were the wings. The "egg roll" was so AWFUL I spit it out after the first bite.

Chicken Shack used to be great. Over the last couple years the quality has gone down.

Top 5 restaurants, possibly on earth. Wing baskets are legendary. Chicken shack is for champions only.

Yes I used to eat here all the time as a preteen through the week. Here was my go to spot around the Dalzell area.

Good food, outside might look shady but get it to go. They will give you plenty of food to fill you up for a few meals! Cheap too!

If you're looking for a big space, lots of room, and an outlandish buffet bar... don't come here…read more :-) Rice'n Wings is definitely more of a 'Hole in the Wall' type location, but the food is good. Limited buffet options, but I feel like just enough to have a pretty decent lunch (which is when I went by there). Their chicken teriyaki on a stick was good. Not to dried out or "chewy", nice flavor, a little juicy. Near perfect for a buffet item. Their house made fried rice was good, what I would have expected, and I kept wanting more. I did try the HAM fried rice, but wasn't impressed, it tasted to American to be Chinese I guess. The wings were really good, I can definitely see why they made the store title. Great seasoning, just small enough to not overwhelm you, but just big enough to be filling with just a few. I really liked them, and kept going back for more. The rest was more typical, I guess, but still good. Not to many items that I would refuse to go back and have again, though I may not pile them on the plate. Overall I enjoyed it, and would revist for another good lunch, especially for the wings. If you happen to work at Shaw Air Base, then bonus points because it's less than 5 mins from the 2 gates, so quick tasty lunch trip!

I don't like Chinese food, just because it's their for folks who like Americanized Chinese food, but sometimes I'll get the wontons. I definitely like that they have plenty of strawberries! I'm shocked she thought it was okay to touch a baby--especially when we're strangers. That was completely inappropriate. The server was rude, and when my mom asked for hot water, we were told they don't have any. Do they not have a kettle or a pot to boil water? That would have been more than enough. There were no accommodations at all. The food was another huge disappointment. If you look at older pictures, you'll see the huge variety of banchan they used to serve. Now, we only got six, and the portions were tiny. Prices have gone up, but the quality has dropped. We used to be able to ask for refills on our favorites, but today when my husband asked for more pickled bean sprouts, the server refused, saying we had to finish everything else first. That's just rude and unnecessary; we're not wasteful on food. We just simply asked for a refill on a dish that we favored more than the others. The service was terrible. The server never checked on us, and we had to flag her down for a to-go box while she was chatting at another table with her back turned towards us. When it was time to pay, my husband didn't leave a tip due to the poor service, and the server had the audacity to confront him about it. She argued with him, justifying her refusal to give a simple refill by saying food costs are high and people waste banchan. That might be true for others, but we're not those customers. This assumption was insulting and uncalled for. I don't know if it's new management or what, but the service here has gone downhill fast. This was once our go-to spot, but we'll be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

I went in with my mom, wife, and baby boy, expecting a great meal like we used to have here. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of disappointing. First, after taking our order, the server noticed my son and pinched his cheeks--making him cry. Then, she offered him a lollipop... to an 11-month-old baby. Completely inappropriate. My mom simply asked for hot water, and we were told they don't have any. How does a restaurant not have a way to heat water? The real disappointment was in the food. This place used to serve 15 banchan (side dishes), but today we received only six, all in tiny portions. Prices have gone up, portions have shrunk, and the service has taken a nosedive. When I asked for more pickled bean sprouts--my favorite--the server refused, saying I had to finish all the other banchan first. What are we, adolescents? I didn't realize we needed to "clean our plates" before we could get a simple refill. That's never happened here or at any other Korean restaurant I've been to. The worst part? We always finish all the banchan dishes because that's what we look forward to the most when we come here. I lost my appetite after that. On top of that, the service was terrible. She never once came by to refill our water or ask if everything was okay. When we finished eating, we had to flag her down just to ask for a box, because she was sitting at another table with her back turned, gossiping with two other ladies. When I went to pay, I left no tip due to the poor service. The server then had the audacity to call me out, saying, "Tip is not included, you leave no tip?" I explained the bad service, specifically how she refused a simple refill, and she proceeded to argue with me--justifying it by saying food costs are high and that people waste banchan. That might be true for some, but we're not those customers. Making that assumption about us was insulting. Plus, you made my son cry. I don't know of many strangers who would touch a baby's face like that. This place used to be a go-to for us, but they've completely lost our support. I love supporting small businesses, but when you start nickel-and-diming customers over basic hospitality and provide awful service on top of it, you ruin the dining experience.
