I have not been here in quite a few years. I just wanted some chicken salad. It was hot outside and a sandwich just sounded good. I purchased the single scoop meal that was under $11. The food was amazing. It did not have that sloppy wet taste that sometimes you get when you order a chicken salad. It was not overly salty. It had a lot of chicken in it and the amount of ranch was perfect. You could taste the real bacon in the scoop. It comes with four packs of captains wafers. The broccoli salad is to die for. It had just a small amount of dressing that did not overpower the dish. The additional hunks of bacon at the top were icing on the cake. I would definitely order the broccoli salad to go. This was plenty of food for one person. I actually had about half of my chicken salad left over. The ambiance is whimsical cute. It is good for a solo eater or a small party. They have a small kids menu that is reasonably priced. The portion sizes are quite adequate. The dining room room was clean. It was really clean because the young lady was vacuuming right beside me while I was trying to eat. The service was minimal. I gave it a four star because there were five people standing behind the register talking about what they were gonna do after work while there was a line of four people waiting to place an order. I know that there could have been takeout orders. They were waiting on, but I'm a firm believer on treat the people that are in front of you. That is just my personal opinion. Ordered Cranberry Kelli through Uber Eats while going through a kitchen renovation. The staffer packed the wrong chicken salad (dill pickles) so I called the General Manager to let her know and to get a refund. I also mentioned that I had tile workers at my house and couldn't leave. She actually brought the correct order to my house, which I appreciated immensely, because we all know Uber Eats ain't cheap! The Cranberry Kelli was delicious. I love chicken salad chick. My experience here, however was not on par with what I'm used to. I ordered the fruity Fran on croissant with lettuce and tomato. The tomato had the core still in it (see pic). The amount of chicken salad on my sandwich was lean. I witnessed an employee digging in the trash and going back to work without washing their hands. Sandwich had a tiny little scoop of chicken salad with no attempt to spread it out. Gave me a little tiny piece of lettuce and the remnants of the top of the tomato. Pasta salad was dry too! AND if all that wasn't enough. They were out of the little white cookie that just perfectly completes the meal. No notification when ordering and when asked they just said oh yeah sorry we are out...either let people know or offer to sub it for the larger cookie. Heck, even ask if they want one to save on waste. However, that's on you as a restaurant if you run out. I love this chain and have previously loved this location but the last couple of times have been just meh. Save yourself some money and if you're up for the trip go to the Forest Drive Location. Stopped in today to grab 2 containers of bulk chicken salad to go. Took 30 minutes! One type (classic, not something obscure), was not stocked in their to go case, so had to wait for it to be prepped. TWENTY minutes to put 4 scoops of chicken salad in a bowl. And when I got it, it wasn't anywhere near as full as the pre-portioned container of another kind that I had gotten out of the cooler. Had to wait for them to add to it. For $13, I would expect it to be portioned correctly. I hesitated to even review, but this is the 3rd visit in a row I've had to this location where timely service and attention to detail has been significantly lacking. Makes it hard to want to come back, even though my kids love your food. Hope you can make some improvements. read more

Food: 4/4 Service: 4/4 Ambiance: 4/5 My first time at a Chicken Salad Chick! My friend and I both ordered the Pimento Cheese BLT. I opted in for the spicy pimento with toasted bread. As you can see from the photo, they were not shy with the cheese! It really was delicious - I think I would have liked them to go a little bit lighter on the cheese and heavier on the BLT, but it was good nonetheless. I ordered pasta salad on the side which was light and not too vinegary as some places tend to do. My friend ordered mac and cheese on the side which she claimed was delicious as well. Our meals came with a small cookie on the side which was a lovely touch. The ladies working were rather friendly and timely. They also had a women making rounds on the floor to check in on tables and ask if they needed anything which I always love to see at a basically fast food place. The dining area is pretty spacey and had plenty of seating. The style makes me giggle a little because it seems to be stuck in 2003, but it's my understanding that it's consistent with this chain across the board! All in all, this location was a pretty nice stop for a quick but filling lunch. read more

Love love love this place. We like coming here every once in a while cause it's Chicken Salad Chick. However, for this trip in particular, we had placed an online order that for some reason never made it to the store. The employees were nice as can be and got our order together in the quickest, kindest manner possible. We thoroughly enjoy Chicken Salad Chick, but for this location, it's the people who truly make it a delightful place to eat at. There were two employees we were specifically helped by, never got their names but they absolutely deserve credit as well as the manager working the night. When I took it back the girls out front agreed it was skimpy and thought they could redo or just give me some on side. Then they found out I guess they would have to completely remake. We first experienced this place when we were visiting a close friend in Florida and I must say we were impressed. This place makes some pretty tasty chicken salads with all kinds of combinations. I ordered the Sassy Scotty sandwich and my husband chose one of the spicy flavors. Absolutely loved it! It was refreshing to have a tasty alternative to the standard lunch fare of hamburgers, nachos, and fries. We tried them again in Lexington, SC. Again I had the Sassy Scotty on a bed of fresh lettuce and hubby got a spicy combo and fresh fruit. This hit the spot on such a hot day. My favorite though was the cookie they give which finished off our meals quite sweetly. Great staff, tasty food, and unique selections. A definite must try!! read more

The ordering concept for dining-in appears to be similar to that of smashburger and american roadside, you walk in, head to your left around the dining area, place your order at the register and then seat yourself. I came specifically to get to-go... which was convenient because every chicken salad offered on the menu is in a cooler directly next to the register, the tubs were all one size (see picture). I got the Kickin Kay Lynne (because it sounded super flavorful - ranch, buffalo sauce, bacon, jalapeños, and cheddar cheese) and the Fruity Fran (because I wanted some sweet with my savory - green & red seedless grapes and apple). I only like white meat, and I like my chicken salad to almost have no texture (the chicken itself) - the chicken is like finely finely shredded or blended - so this place is perfect for me. Kickin Kay Lynne - I expected to like this one more, but it ended up being too salty/smoky for me - (ranch, bacon, buffalo sauce? I don't know what I was expecting). Fruity Fran - absolutely delicious, the apples and grapes were fresh and sweet which was a nice contrast to the salty chicken salad. I was in and out in a matter of 5 mins or so - I knew what I was coming for and there wasn't a wait! Next time I'm in Lexington I may return to try some of their other flavors. read more

I was told that one of the side items of my trio was not available. I made an alternate choice and waited while the folks in the back chatted about what happened at school today. Weirdly awesome! I've been pretty meh on chicken salad my whole life until about this year. Never thought it would be a big enough deal to have a whole place for it though, but yet... This place is great!! And very cute, very classy. My coworker and I were looking for a quick lunch while passing through. We thought this place looked interesting so we decided to check it out. They have so many choices of chicken salad! You can get chicken salad however you'd like it, it seems. I ordered the old school version (the name is slipping my mind, I apologize) on a croissant. I also ordered the side of fruit. The chicken salad sandwich was sooo good! The flakey croissant was just sweet enough and was a perfect companion to my choice of chicken salad. I scarfed it down and was pretty upset when it was gone. Lol. The fruit...wasn't as good. The some of the grapes were smashed and after I ate one that was a bit mushy and gross, I decided to pass on the rest. The entree comes with a cookie. I was excited about a chocolate chip cookie, but it ended up being a sugar cookie. I'm not sure if that changes daily. I wasn't impressed because it was a bit greasy and tasteless (not worth the calories ) and after two bites, decided to discard that as well. Maybe next time I'll try the pasta salad or something. Their "meal" is a scoop or sandwich of their delicious chicken salad or pimento cheese plus a cup of soup or side item. They have many types and flavors of chicken salad from which to choose. I had a scoop of the "Fancy Nancy" chicken salad (made with seedless grapes, Fuji apples and pecans) and a cup of loaded potato soup. These are served with plenty of wheat crackers, a dill spear and cookie. I also added a second scoop of their Pimento Cheese for just $2 extra. Went to Chicken Salad Chick for the first time today. I was very surprised at the selection of different types of chicken salad that they had. I figured it would only be one type. I tried the Fancy Nancy, which had apples, grapes, and nuts in it. It was very good! My wife and I got different sides (I got the pasta salad and she got the grape salad) and both were very good. I'm not a fan of chicken salad so I was a little hesitant when a coworker suggested we go to Chicken Salad Chick for lunch. I scoped the menu beforehand to find something that I may be able to eat. I ended up getting the buffalo chicken salad on a croissant with a cup of broccoli cheese soup. So good! The chicken salad was so flavorful and the soup was hot and fresh. There are so many different flavors and I would definitely go back. The cashier was very helpful with helping us choose a flavor we would enjoy. Great little place! read more

Best chicken salad I've ever had! I had the Kickin' Kay Lynne, which if I'm not mistaken is ranch, jalapeno, cheddar cheese, buffalo sauce, and bacon, on a soft hoagie. I can't remember the name of the meal I got, but in addition to the sandwich, it came with a side (I chose grape salad-yum!), a pickle, and a cookie of the day (cooked PERFECTLY!) It was only about $8 and it was a nice sized portion. It was so good that I came back the same day for a togo tub of chicken salad! I have not been much of a chicken salad person until about a month ago when I tried chicken salad at another establishment and thought I would give Chicken Salad Chick a try. I like the various names of the different types of chicken salad you can get (Sassy Scotty, Luau Lydia, and Fruity Fran just to name a few). Each name reflects the type of chicken salad you're ordering (Jazzy Julie is more of a spicy creation whereas Fancy Nancy is a fruits and nuts creation). I like (at least at the Lexington Location) when you walk in that there are menus you can look at before heading up to the counter to order. I am one of those people that needs a few minutes to decide what to order and hate getting to the counter looking dumbstruck as what to order, They have various specials (a sandwich, one or two side items, along with the cookie of the day. I am not sure if a drink is included (I had ordered the Original Chick Special which includes one side for $7.50, but by the time I added a drink, the order came to just under $10. You are also able to choose they type of bread you want (white, wheat, crossaint) as well. You order at the counter and if you are eating in, they'll bring your meal to you. It also looksd like they had pre-made tubs of their chicken salad creations off to the side for purchase (I am assuming) so you could take some chicken salad home for you eating pleasure at a later time. Now for those of you that either are not chicken salad lovers or are a vegetarian, there is a "limited' menu for you. Their other selections are Turkey Hoagie, Cajun Roast Beef, Virginia Ham or Pimeto Cheese. I know when my aunt first went here, she was not sure if I would like Chicken Salad Chick as I was not a chicken salad lover at the time. I am not sure if these selections have always been there, or if they are a recent addition. And looking at the menu, I like the owners comments to those that might be eating here that are not chicken salad lovers: Deli Sandwiches: For those of you have been dragged by a chicken salad lover and are refusing to try something new ... we made these just for you! Chicken Salad Chick is only open 10-7 M-S (Closed Sunday). I noticed a few days ago when possibly going to try for lunch that the restaurant was on the busy side, but when I went for dinner last night - it was not as busy. Place is run like a fast food restaurant or a food stall in a subway station. Based on the positive reviews, we decided on a Saturday afternoon visit. Now, after going in, I fear those reviews are strangely all ...too positive. Some actually read like adverts. Too much like cheerleaders circling around a bad team. If you expect basic courtesy; for example, hearing: "please" and "thank you," then this is not the place for you. Lack of please and thank you is an objective measure of rudeness, but there was an overall incivility in the cashier's demeanor. --a school-yard bully quality about her. While demanding our order at the counter, we explained to her this was our first visit, ... So she rushed through the many options in the way a three year old quickly rambles off a poorly memorized alphabet. - all monotone, deep breaths, ..eyes everywhere but toward us. My 84 year old Southern mother, who was with me, bases everything on a proper upbringing. There is never an excuse for not saying "thank you." That's how all business transactions are concluded and it's certainly the way proper Southern women end an order. When a complaint was made, a most ungracious female manager came out, with dirty hands...She did not ask how she could rectify anything or engage us on any issue; in fact, she said nothing. You never have to mean it in your heart when you say "sorry," but it has to be said, sounding sincerely, when dealing with others. She said nothing. -refer again to lack of proper upbringing. If this is what the owners put up front, you have to fear what's in the back where the food is prepared. ...ever seen restaurant nightmare? Dining room floor was cluttered with discarded napkins and in need of general housekeeping. Almost all of the customers looked to be from the rougher side of town. - which may explain the reviews. There is a South where people are decent and kind and gentle and gracious to strangers -- This restaurant is not part of that South. If you are visiting from out of town and are expecting something more cosmopolitan or urbane, take a pass on this place. - try the Gourmet Shop in the university's Five Points area. There, you will get a sublimely delicious chicken salad croissant ...and, a thank you. read more
