I think this is the best bar in town. I like to sing karaoke, and they sure do got that. Weezy is great, she takes the talent there and orchestrates a pretty good vibe, mixing songs into a well thought out play list. There is certainly chicken so if you are hungry or want some pretty good bar food with drinks, there is that, be sure you have your cab money though, its easy to get swept away, its a lot of fun. The staff in general are quite good too. For the part of town you find Chicken N Cheers in I think they do a VERY GOOD job at conducting the overall atmosphere. They aren't there to be baby sitters, they are there to create an atmosphere that people would like to hang out in and they accomplish that in spades; I think that is the sign of a GOOD bar. Having been to many of the bars in town, Chicken N Cheers does it right. I have gone around 5 times now and every time I enjoyed myself. The crowd is generally on the younger side and are sociable. And that is GOOD. I understand that some have maybe judged them a bit too rowdy, but I'd say to those folks the establishment does do a GOOD job at threading that needle, you know "boys will be boys" and to be realistic with those sorts of expectations. Burger was great, but they only give you a very little fries which is ridiculous because before they changed to fresh fries they give you a lot. Sounds like they're trying to save a little money on the fries, but it's gonna hurt their business in the long run. read more

This place is overtly homophobic. When I got up to go to the bathroom, the bartender (Tito) told my boyfriend to not kiss me in public. I'm pretty sure recovering alcoholics don't write reviews for bars very often, so let's start with that. I'm a regular at Chicken and Cheers without ever touching or wanting to touch alcohol. I'm there for the atmosphere, for the singing, and just to see how the night will turn out. Now that's a vibe! First and foremost (for me), it's a karaoke bar. Fridays and Saturdays are Weezy Weekends where everyone gets a chance to shine; she'll encourage you no matter what you want to sing. It's not a genre karaoke bar. Wanna sing country? Cool. Bust out some rappin' rhyme? Weezy's got you. And anything in between, go for it. Whether you serenade a sweetie or make your friends laugh, the only true rule for karaoke is to have fun, and in that atmosphere you'd have to work not to. Lizzy is the weekday KJ, watching the regulars practice or try out new songs. Both these ladies sing, too, and you don't want to miss that! If singing isn't your thing, there are two pool tables, slot machines, and of course the bar itself. Tudo and Tim are exactly the kind of bartenders you want; I'm amazed at how well they operate on a crowded night. I've seen marathoners with less endurance. While you're doing all this singing and drinking, you might get hungry. Mary in the kitchen will make what you want and follow up later to ask if you enjoyed it. That's restaurant service. In a bar. This place is pretty decent to stop in for a late afternoon pint and a bite to eat. Their on-tap selection is lacking, but they do usually have an Oregon beer or two to choose from. I came here during the summer with a few friends for a night full of karaoke and affordable brews. The karaoke was fun, and there was a variety of people and styles. The KJ was a great guy and had a good selection of songs! The pitchers of beers were affordable, and they had an okay selection compared to some other bars in the area. The bar tender was really nice and had a good sense of humor. Even though he was chatting up the patrons, he was quick to get your order if you came up to the bar. While you are no longer able to smoke inside bars in the state of Oregon, there is a vending machine where you can purchase either chips or cigarettes, and you can smoke outside the bar. There are at least two pool tables from what I remember, and the pool hall is well lit. The whole bar looks like the inside of a barn--lots of bare wood frames. The ladies room was ridiculously tiny. Please, renovate. I think they serve food here, but haven't heard many good things about it. I'll be honest, this bar isn't for everyone. I didn't feel that comfortable here, and I'm not sure that I'll be back. I would have much rather gone to Legends, Molly's, or Waldo's. read more

Well. This was pretty terrible. I was in from out of town, and my niece just had her first baby. The first thing she asked for? The Mushroom Swiss Ortega burger from this joint. We ordered 3 different burgers. All three were wrong, and not a single Ortega chili to be found. Aaaaaand, the fries were cold and soggy before we got our full order. The last few times I have gone I witnessed many people being over served, people passing out, violent outbreaks and the staff not stepping in to do anything.
