I took a risk! Saw the reviews but really wanted to try it to see if it was good and honestly.....it was! It is inside the Walmart on university and griffin. The employee who took my order wasn't really friendly and didn't show much personality but there was a gentleman who came out from the back and smiled so that's the best I got. I ordered the 5 piece chicken tender with fries. It comes with a drink and choice of 2 sauces (I opted for buffalo and a garlic sauce they have) the sauce was delicious. Fries were crispy and chicken was seasoned and crispy just how I like it. The inside was clean. I know sometimes you can be hesitant to try it from the reviews BUT the food was good. Wow blown away. 100% halal. Food came out fresh and hot. Crazy good fries & shakes. Service was a little bland but the cleanliness/convince makes up for it. Nice takeaway or dine in after your shopping at Walmart. Wide variety of different sauces. This place gives canes a run for their money. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich combo with fries and a vanilla milkshake. Also tried their tenders. Everything was exceptionally good. We'll definitely be back. read more

I've been waiting for this Chicken Guy to open forever since the other one I used to go to closed. I was so excited to see that it was opening day today! This one is located inside the Walmart in Davie off of Griffin. After I ordered, I was immediately a little grossed out because while I was waiting for my food, I noticed one of the employees eating while talking to customers at the cash register and while walking around the food prep area. Definitely not a good or hygienic look. I've been to a few different Chick Guy locations, and this wasn't even close to the same recipes. The breading, flavor, and cut of the tenders was completely different, and the fries were completely different as well with little to no flavor. I was so excited to have a Chicken Guy location closer to home and I'm hoping these are just first-day kinks that will be worked out, but it seemed like generic chicken fingers and fries that you could get anywhere and not like the unique flavors signature to Chicken Guy. Chicken Guy! - Chicken Shop Near Me - Davie, Florida

We noticed the sign on the covered shop front advertising Chicken Guy and were curious to try the food once it opened. It finally opened and Chicken Guy is the latest in Guy Fieri's restaurant chain. Upon entering the space we were greeted with a clean well lit restaurant. As you can assume from the name it's a fried chicken restaurant, the chicken was properly prepared and has a crunchy buttermilk breading. We ordered the BLAT, bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato with two chicken patties on a very good bun. We asked for the ranch dressing on the side and also tried the garlic parmigiana dressing they were good for dipping the fries in. The fries were well seasoned and well done like we like them. Everything is cooked to order but the wait was not too long. The husband and wife team behind the counter were friendly and efficient. The next time we're in the mood for a chicken sandwich we'll go back again. Oh and one last note the restaurant is in our local Walmart, who'd a thought! read more

I must admit I was extremely skeptical going in a chicken place. I never heard of inside of Walmart, the branding and signage drew me in. Chicken Guy is another celebrity restaurant by Guy Fieri that is made for any lover of a chicken tender, salad, sandwich, shakes, and variety of sauces place, similar to Chick Fil A. It's one of those "trendy/celeb backed shindigs" that is a bit higher priced for the branding but still comparable to other chicken shops like PDQ and Huey Magoo's. I appreciated seeing some head chef in the cook area helping train and guide to make high quality food as it has only recently opened so it is nice that they are trying to produce good food instead of just slapping some food together according to some template menu like Ghost Kitchens tend to do with ingredients they already serve. I believe some of the difference makers you can get here compared to other chicken joints would be the homemade sauces and how packed of a Big Bite these sandwiches look to be. I ordered a Combo #4: B.L.A.T. Chicken Sandwich with Fries and a drink. It's a smoked Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado spread, Tomato, and buttermilk ranch sandwich that comes with two fried tenders inside. The brine on the tenders is good, there was plentiful amount of avocado spread across the top bun, a nice legit buttermilk ranch on the bottom buns, fresh crunchy lettuce that looked more like sprouts bunches up (and it really works well, tasting and blending better than just a some whole lettuce sheets), and a well cooked bacon that wasn't too crunchy and not too soggy - well done. The buns! They were also baked good perfection as some places are hit and miss on buns, this place is a HIT for buns. Sauces wise: I only got a chance to try out 5 sauces on this first visit. And here were my personal favorites from top to least: 1 - Nashville Hot Honey 2 - Chipotle Ranch 3 - Donkey Sauce 4 - Honey Mustard 5 - Special Sauce They seem to advertise the Special Sauce and Donkey Sauce as their top two sauce flavors but I would say pass for those as there are better flavors to explore and enjoy. I enjoy spicy kicks to my sauces so the hot stuff worked better for me. There are probably 10 other sauces offered that I haven't tried yet, so I may update later if I get a chance to return and sample those out. Shakes look to be another Monster Eat on the menu, I wasn't too hungry to go all out for those but I would return for dessert to try out some shake and fries again. Speaking of the seasoned fries, they were also pretty good. Might've got cold a bit too fast for me but I did order this to go instead of eating in to enjoy them fresh and hot. But even cold at home, they don't taste soggy or papery like other restaurant fries, they stay crunchy in nature and great dippers for the sauces. I would return and recommend to others, price is just a tad bit higher and maybe that's why the drop in a star but for sandwich size, you do get a nice bang for your buck. And if 3-4 different sauces were already included within that sandwich combo price then it would help a bit more and serve better as a marketing tactic that can justify the higher pricing since Additional sauces do cost 50 cents each. read more

Someone please to tell Guy Fieri to get his restaurants out of Walmart. I've been to the one in Wesley Chapel (Tampa area), and it was amazing. As for the one in Walmart in Davie, FL, the quality of the chicken was totally different. The breading and seasoning were not the same and the tenders were a lot smaller. The chicken wasn't terrible, but it was insipid and nothing to write home about. To top it off, they were priced the same in both locations, which is totally unfair, especially if you're serving up a substandard product. As for the service, the cashier was a pleasant young girl. The restaurant is nicely decorated; however, the counter, which is part of the first impression, was unkept. Anyone who tries the Walmart version first will not want to visit the full service restaurant. read more

Just thinking about my experience here gets me angry all over again. I've had Chicken Guy at 2 locations multiple times: the Disney Springs and Winter Park ones, both PHENOMENAL, and I was super ecstatic that one finally opened up down here. Red flag #1 it's inside of a Walmart Red flag #2 they don't have all of the sauces, just the most generic ones like honey mustard, ranch, bleu cheese, etc. Red flag #3 the 3 fountain drinks were meh and the rest were in bottles (not a Chicken Guy standard) And the biggest disappointment of all were the tenders and fries, the whole point of this place. IDK what the **** I received, but I 10000% could've shopped around the Walmart and bought better tenders and fries than that. Not even Sysco would supply tenders and fries this terrible. They were SEVERELY unseasoned and not freshly made. I've cooked food in the air fryer better than this and I probably should have this day. This place opened up maybe a little too fast and quality inspection should have been and should be done cuz this food would've pissed off Guy Fieri himself. This is NOT the standard of Chicken Guy and now I'm so traumatized of trying this again down the line, hopefully if this location can get it together, but from now on I'll forever only get my meal from Orlando locations. Cuz of how sh*tty this food is and if this were someone's first location visited, if they see a Chicken Guy anywhere else where they serve the proper food, they're not gonna want to try it. After two good experiences at Chicken Guy locations, one on a cruise and another in Disney Springs, I expected somewhat similar quality. Unfortunately I was highly disappointed. The service was mediocre, the employees appear miserable. All of them look frustrated and confused. On top of this, we only ordered two sandwich combos, and it took 20 minutes for our order.. The atmosphere is incredibly jarring. It feels like a corporate building tried to decorate for "Spider-Man day" and ordered Chicken Guy catering. To add to this, a distasteful cardboard cutout of Guy Fieri holding a chicken is plastered on the wall, reminding you that you're going to feast on that small animal he's cradling! I definitely took my food to go. The food was mediocre as well, the sandwich was two dry tenders in between some (pretty good) buns. Way too much sauce, and incredibly messy. It was filling and somewhat tasty, overall not worth the price. The fries were very dry, definitely need sauce, but sauces cost an extra ¢50, so I grabbed some leftover ranch from Chick-Fil-A instead. Chicken guy by Guy fury these chicken spots are getting very very repetitive. There's nothing that's showing me else wise or nothing that showing me different but I would say this about chicken guy furry although do it taste the same right but he does have one sandwich on their particularly, and I think it comes with mac & cheese that that changes the game is basically like the Chick-fil-A hack or you add the mac & cheese on there, but all the chicken spots taste the same not gonna lie to you. The service is 81 but there are new their new inside of Walmart on university, but I'm a go back and give another try to see if the service lives up to the hype nice good size for the ambience you can go in there grab something to eat while your people's shopping or if you want to wait for them inside of Walmart, but for the most part, it's not bad.
