Run don't walk away. 1. They are ALWAYS out of chicken breasts. I don't think they really sale chicken breasts. I've went there 3 different days and times. They never have chicken. 2. This place couldn't be dirtier. How is it not shut down. 3. There is always something wrong. Today the drive thru was broken. Looked like the sign was there for a while. They said to get your order ready and come to window. I went to the drive thru and told them my number he said "what's that?" The order taker was a complete jerk never greeted me or was even nice. Then when I told him he said " we ain't got any". I left wo any chicken. That was my last attempt. Always stop here for my chicken fingers and livers whenever I travel from DFW to the City or points north. ALWAYS. It was always very good!!! NOT YESTERDAY!!! Both the fingers and the livers were very dry!! Was VERY disappointed. Then I opened up the gravy container and saw nothing but colored water!!! It was sooo runny it shouldn't even be considered gravy!!! It was disquieting! I put the lid back on and that's where it stayed. I was down the road when this happened otherwise I would have returned it all. I only a couple of piece of each and when i got back to TX, I threw all of it out. $23.72 WASTED!!! I am SO disappointed in this location!! I could always count on Chicken Express here and everywhere else to have great good. WHAT HAPPENED GUYS?? I won't be stopping anymore!!! I had never eaten at a Chicken Express so we decided to drive thru on our way to Dallas. There was a short wait to order. Not a big deal. We both had chicken strips, fried okra and a roll. The chicken was really pale so I was afraid it wouldn't be good. I was wrong. It was very tasty and tender. It was hot and fresh. The okra could have used a touch more salt but it was nicely browned and crisp. The roll was amazing. Wish I could make them that soft and fluffy. Stopped by on my way to Wichita, KS and needed a snack. The gizzards with hot sauce and gravy is so damn good. That's all I've ever tried here so I can't speak for the actual fried chicken. You can get an order of gizzards, gravy, and a biscuit for under $5. It says it comes with 9 gizzards but they filled the box with about 16. Service was a little slow but my hot and fresh gizzards made up for it. read more

The biscuits are the best part, but a brown gray option would be nice, the country gravy is peppery and lumps up if you don't eat it super fast. If you don't want fried food and you're thinking that they probably have something grilled. Don't bother. If it isn't batted and fried then they don't carry it. It's frustrating because if you're watching your weight or have health issues then just plan to East all your calories in one meal or sit and drink a soda while your friends cow. Went in just before noon Christmas Eve. No rolls because they burned them, and only had 2 wings and 2 legs ready (other than strips). Still had to wait 10 minutes while the regular strips finished cooking. No unsweet yes ready for lobby. Had to wait while they made some. Rarely do I go in that they aren't out of something. If I could give this place no stars, I would. This place is disgusting. The bathrooms had poo on the wall, the soap had been seeping out of the holder, and was all over the floor. We ate here last weekend on our way to the football game. All of the food was extremely bland and didn't have much taste at all. We both had chicken tenders and they were bland and not crispy. The gravy on my mashed potatoes was like drinking thick water and had virtually no taste. The best pet of the experience was how nice the staff was. They take forever to cook my food every time i go there and its jus a simple 4 pieces of chicken and some corn nuggets. Recently i went there and ordered a 4 piece chicken and a two piece fish combo. 20 minutes later we get the food and my chickens cold and so is the okra that was ordered with the fish. Ok. . I'm an Aggie so I've eaten chicken express for YEARS since it first set up shop in college station. I hate when you are used to food tasting a certain way and then when the restaurant expands, you can tell the difference. I know it wasn't just me because I let my boyfriend say it before I did, but the food was very bland. Maybe it's a Texas thing because Taco cabana, Dairy Queen and Whataburger are "the bomb" when I get it in Texas also, but were gross when I tried them in other states. So we ordered a 12 piece mixed bucket and a side of corn nuggets, green beans and fries. The corn nuggets were bland. The corn wasn't as sweet as it typically is and it tasted like salt was missing? If they used the same oil that they fried the fries in then that explains it. I'm used to extremely hot crispy fries that are lighter in color. But the fries weren't very crispy. They had the texture, appearance (a little dark) and taste of fries that sit in the oil too long and tasted like their oil was old. I didn't try the green beans but my 2 year old ate them. I don't know if that means much considering we had been on the road for about 10 hours at that point and he slept most of the way so he was starving by this point. The chicken was OK, but it seemed like it was missing a little salt also. We also ordered 4 drinks which made the total under 33 dollars.
