Normally, I really do like chicken expresses fish and I've got the fish up until 10 minutes before they closed. It seems as though two nights ago I went in there about 845 ordered two big fish dinners with extra fish to be told. They turned off the fish fryers an hour and 15 to 20 minutes early before they close. This is unheard of I think the people are lazy and didn't want to deal with the fish because they huff and puff about dealing with it anyway since it's a chicken place I won't ever go back there again and like I said I really did enjoy it but it seems like they don't care not to mention you sit right there at the driveway door and see them in there clowning around big spring. This should have been the best chicken of the day because it would have been the first chicken fried of that day!. We arrived at 10:45 am. The chicken tastes and eats like it was left over from last night and re-fried this morning. Tough and very dry, the crust was so hard that it was very difficult to chew without fearing that you might break a tooth. The mashed potatoes were thin and watery, and had no taste. This is not the first time the food and service have been very bad. What little I did eat has made me so sick!! The chicken here used to be so good, but now it sucks. Think twice before you go here. We will drive across town to Gill's Fried Chicken from now on. I cannot believe that a business would serve food like this. The boy who took the order could not remember what was told to him. Okra and green beans, and rolls were missing from the orders. They don't care anymore, including the management. So as an avid Yelper I was a little distraught to see the reviews on here and the stars only or two. However I can assure you as I've never eaten at an establishment like this or not this company per se it's where I really should be going with this I have eaten fast food chicken but not this particular company. So when I pulled up in the drive-through I felt pressure as always and every drive-through that I am unfamiliar with to quickly decide and place an order. This associate told me to take my time and was very genuine. So my demeanor quickly change to being comfortable reviewing the menu. My wife, my brother and I ordered a family meal at 7:15pm. While waiting i noticed the staff was setting up over 50 meal boxes they were fixing meal boxes. 20 minutes had passed, more people ordered and cars from the drive thru went by. I don't know what we were thinking, the time had hit 8:15pm still no food, sooner people actually turned away. I looked, they had enough staff to get that function order and fill the dining room orders. There were 2 employees walking around doing nothing. At 8:20pm a lady asked for a refund and the corporate number. They gave her a refund, but said they didn't know the corporate number and she should go online and find it herself. She snatched the receipt from who I believe was the manager. Sometime before that my wife changed our order for carry out. Since w did that we asked for an additional cup for my mother. The manager said no problem. At 8:30 we received our food, and went to my mom's and when we started getting out the food they forgot our green beans. My wife had called the Chicken Express corporate number. They agreed with every point she made and will have a representative. This was our worst visit ever. read more

My husband and I did the drive thru at the 1000 W Danforth Rd, Edmond OK location. We came home to eat, my husband got into him dinner roll and pulled out a long hair. I called to let them, first they were ready to replace the meal, then the guy became rude saying it wasn't possible because their rolls are frozen and not fresh made... um ok, so they have to be baked on store ??? So either whomever baked the bread or the factory one had an employee whose hair was in the bread. He then said we have to bring the hair and the roll back to the store so they could investigate, apparently they do DNA tests on the spot to find out whose hair is in your food, sorry sir, both the hair and roll were thrown up, no longer available for analysis. All this after trouble ordering when the girl kept asking what we wanted even though we had already told her. Seriously, I order the same thing through the drive through every 3-4 weeks: #2, fries, ranch, roll, LG soda and instead of gravy add in some ranch. Either they put in mashed potatoes instead of fries (wrong), add gravy instead of ranch (wrong) etc etc. And when you tell the staff about it, they act like your the one wrong and messed it up. Sitting in line. First never got asked what drink we wanted but that's fine, we can tell her at the window! But we've been waiting for 15 minutes and there's literally only one car in front of us and NO ONE INSIDE! This place is absolutely disgusting and a total joke. Right after ordering I went to the restroom to wash my hands. Immediately upon entering the restroom it smelled really bad, but it's a restroom so I dismissed that. Went to wash my hands and noticed there was no soap so I went to manager and Informed him so he sent a worker in the back to grab more soap (figured they might have just run out). The worker came back with no soap and neither one of them said a thing...So I had to go and ask him if they had any. Turned out the place had NO SOAP ANYWHERE. When I asked them how they wash their hands after using the restroom they said they use the sink in the kitchen... Which means they are cross contaminating everything! Minimum of 15 flies flying around in the kitchen around all the food. We demanded our money back and let them know what we thought pretty good. Didn't get a single apology or anything. We usually have the gravy left out & have to make it at home that I said not this time I forgot to check my order was only worried about the gravy!!!
